Lots of original artifacts and tools. They did an archeological dig a while ago and found a ton of things that are now exposed. They have the option of an audio tour, or a tour with a guide (which we did). Tour is both in french and in english. Some interactive parts in the tour. Nice looking boutique. Great service by the employees (also always smiling). Coat hanging area provided. Second exposition about the city's oldest manufacturer available. The bad: You learn about the family, but not as much as the way of living in that era. Upstairs closed to the public (would be great to see an authentic bedroom). Manufacturer exposition is a little bland. If you go in without a guide, the tour will be VERY quick. Road from street to the house is very muddy. This was a great experience! We would definitely go back as they are still discovering things about the owners.

Then to the second floor they have bedrooms, one room explaning the custom of marriages - births & and another one for the customs of deaths. which was very interesting! they also have a child bedroom full of antique toys, which was a little bit creepy haha. then you go back downstairs (there are more floors but they are not open to the public) to the little shop. and then outside to another building where they had a little exposition about the rural life, and then to a (kinda) barn where they have some agricultural machinery and rural life things and on the second floor there is a lot of old things from the town it self. so basically, from the outside it's juste a huge house, but from the inside it's a treasure! go! you need to see this!

That said, there are also other potential benefits of the juice of the fruit that have yet to be fully confirmed, yet are sufficiently awesome enough to give it a try. The store and seating area is gorgeous. With the breeze and sunshine, it made for a perfect day to look over the countryside and the crops below. Phil and Andrea, the owners, are passionate about what they do and it shows. Andrea makes every product they sell: pure elderberry juice, elderberry syrup (that is infused with honey, ginger and cinnamon); elderflower lemonade sweetened with the elderflower honey; red pepper jelly, rhubarb lime ginger compote, elderberry preserves, slightly spicy kale chips (no elderberry, but an awesome snack). They also extract the elderflower honey and her that as well for purchase. The juice itself is aptly described as part blueberry, part blackberry. It's slightly tart, but as you would use only 2 teaspoons a day for vitality purposes, it makes a great addition to boost the antioxidants of a smoothie, can be mixed in a tea, a lemonade, or even a club soda. The syrup would make a wonderful addition to a spritzer or as a delectable sauce for pancakes, waffles, or ic cream. You can taste the spiciness of the ginger and the cinnamon (both excellent for health-the former is an anti-inflammatory and the latter lowers blood pressure and stabilizes blood sugar). The lemonade is perfectly sweetened-just a hint, which allows the lemon favor to shine through. They serve it in tall tumblers sprinkled with fresh elderflowers and if you wish, a sprig of fresh mint (I recommend this). A really wonderful place to visit and to taste and buy the numerous homemade products made from their own gardens and crops.

They do an exceptional job of showing you around the vineyard, answering questions and explaining their methods and grapes. The tasting itself is also wonderful. I found that I really liked several of their wines and their port. The charcuterie and cheese plate was very good; it was accompanied with bread and jellies made from their wines. The wines are reasonably priced. We each took home 6 bottles, saving an additional 6%. With the CA exchange rate, it was an exceptional deal. They do grape squashing in September. I meant to try and come back and volunteer, but ended up too busy. Next year! I'll bring friends back. This place is worth frequenting.

We grabbed some charcuterie, cheese, and 2 flights and made a beeline for a table in the shade. Everything was delicious and we ended up grabbing 2 bottles with us to go (sparkling orange and sparkling red). They didn't have the sparkling orange as a taster but my favorite from the tasting line up had to be the sparkling red, which was delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day. They also offer a 45 minute wine tasting session, which we didn't have time for but looking forward to coming back and exploring this wine trail.

When you go on their website they have different packages from what you can choose from. We ended up doing a private tour with wine tasting & a little snack to taste from the kitchen.. What I love about this location is that it's nearly 2 hours away from our place now I dont know about you but I live for mini roadtrip! And anything that's out of "montreal" is a win for me! Theres just something so great about driving into the ever greens! So ofcourse from the moment we got there it was POURING rain! But that didn't stop the tour! We ended up taking a golf kart to go through the vineyard.. it was so nice because they gave us a cozy blanket to cover ourselves with .. very sweet! The guy who gave us the tour was so sweet and knowledgeable he gave us some really great info and honestly just made me appreciate wine even that more! Once we finished with the vineyards we headed back to a tour of the behind the scenes.. it was really cool to see everything from A to Z .. we then headed to the diner area for our tasting & snacks .. he then offered some more fun knowledge about the wines and we understood it better because of the tour he had just given us. Plus prior to starting this they bring you to a room to a watch a mini 10 minute clip about the wines and preview and that came with a delicious glass of wine. And just before heading out they have this beautiful boutique with all sorts of fun things we got some wine , maple sugar etc.. One thing that really stuck with me was how well maintained the place was. Very very clean and the design and decor of this place just seals it all together. It's a family owned business & we got to meet one of them! Apparently they also have a sugar shack so I'll definitely have to go back there to try it out. Charming local history museum that is quite the hodge podge, as these places usually go, but full…read moreof little surprises. Of interest to parties with smaller children, there's a four-room Children's Museum (of the classic interactive role playing ilk) tucked inside, which will amuse your 2-7 year old for a half hour or 45 minutes, and which is very nicely done in terms of integration with the historical museum theme. They even snuck in a little display about the use and abuse of orphan immigrants as indentured servants, a Dickensian episode in Canadian history that is covered with both personal stories of locals and appropriately sensitive historical document reproductions, so the parents and older kids can learn something while the youngers are playing. The little suite of buildings -- there are seven, two of which were closed on the day we visited for restoration work -- also makes up an old-style village of sorts, which each of them having an interesting story. The building with the fire tower is unusual, although you can't go all the way up in the tower, you can look up into it. The rest of the artifacts as noted are very much a randomized assortment based on who donated what from among the locals, and are quite busy. There's a couple of rooms of military artifacts, focusing largely on World War I, featuring their unique specimen of a Fokker D V biplane with the only surviving original fabric, a war trophy shipped over just after the Great War and preserved fairly well ever since. There's a display on Reginald Fessenden, a native of Knowlton, allegedly the inventor of the first voice transmitting radio (somewhat hilariously omitting any of the other claimants to the title), which is largely a lot of old radio equipment unrelated to Fessenden, but which is still worth a few minutes. Then there's some random bits - old cobbling equipment, stuff from the old general store, old firefighting equipment -- that are reminiscent of a hundred other local historical society displays. The main building has a display of a (recently deceased) local plant artist which was lovely as well. That said, the hours on this place appear to be extremely limited and it cost us $20 for the family for the admission; it's not that I begrudge the money to help preserve the artifacts, it's just a bit steep for the entertainment value, given that's what we usually pay just for a "full" children's museum that's open longer hours. So temper your expectations accordingly. That said, there's an hour's worth of diversion here for the kids and some points of interest for adults. Better than average for its ilk.
