March Friday - Consultation went well, we were told an email will be sent with questionnaire form to complete and instructions to pay along with a link to upload documents. Tuesday - the next week- I called and asked I only received an email with a link to pay. No drop down, no amount, no questionnaire form. The person on the phone stated I need to choose from a drop down. I was shocked- because there was no drop down, just a blank space to type in the amount. They were not familiar with there one pay system. The person stated payment in full is required in order to get a link to upload documents and the questionnaire form. This was never mentioned in the consultation or in the email. In addition, first email I received has one set of pricing and the email I received after the consultation increase by $350.00 When I forwarded the original email and asked if they will be honoring the original quoted price. There response was "The Fiduciary Tax Return reservation fee for our early bird engagement bookings " So - NO they are not honoring No mention in the email about early bird or price only good for 30 days- nothing. This is what got me- In addition they stated this word for word copied from email. "I checked our availability with the team and was informed that we are currently full and not accepting any new fiduciary engagements until further notice. Unfortunately, this means that we cannot take on your engagement at this time but we can add you to our wait list upon your request. I have already initiated the refund for your New Client Consultation fee of $62.50 so you should see it post to your credit card within a few days." So I was dropped - on Friday they stated they have room. Very interesting. Needless to say, this left me in a challenging situation- trying to find an accountant on a short notice to file my taxes. I don't do reviews very often as I understand things happen and I grew up with a Family business , but 2 weeks later I am still struggling to find an accountant.

I did file late…read more Unfortunately he did not automatically apply for extensions as my previous CPA did resulting in large penalties. He also didn't appeal the penalties. While I had established an s corp to help reduce my taxable income, he didn't achieve that or find any deductions I can see as my previous accountants did. After paying a very large tax bill and then later thousands in penalties the irs wanted to review the entire tax year he prepared, As well as set up a payment plan for still more funds for some unknown reason . Mr Ha refused to do this so I'm spending hours on the phone trying to reach the irs to find out what's gone wrong. I thought tax preparers were required to defend their work because they always have previously I don't think any of this is criminal or reaches the level of malpractice, but it's certainly the worst outcome and service I've encountered from a tax preparer in my life

Once I was married & we had complicated things to add, we made sure to go to Viet. I used to get to make an appointment with him in person & he answered any & all of my questions, before I filed. But sadly COVID hit & things changed to online. My husband & I have changed careers several times since 2022, & we had a baby, so there are several things to add into your taxes. This year, we spent over $15k in medical expenses, had our first child, & hoped we would get some kind of a tax refund. But unfortunately that didn't happen. When I asked about adding money to our IRAs, or why we didn't get to file itemized, or how else we can reduce our tax bracket, we were told it was a "paid question that required a paid appointment". Anyway, I think you can get your own taxes done for free or less than you're charged by this guy. He can't help you with basic questions without requiring money so... stay aware & ask questions!
