Was a former long time patient here before all the name changes and with all the different prescribers I was always treated with respect; I was also given more than enough time to explain my issues in detail instead of a "stop n go" visit like previous doctors did prior to OCCC. I never left the office w/a bad taste in my mouth or "I should've said this or that" feeling afterwards other than the last visit I had prior to finding a new clinic to go to for anxiety issues. I started seeing a new dr. w limited success but touched all the other issues out; I came back to OCCC for help going through an opioid detox for heroin during my short lived "blissful" (he said ironically) opioid phase. There is always that underlying anxiety/stress behind my OP problem and w/out my benzos and other comfort meds staying focused on my main priorities in life start to take over and become completely overwhelming and uncomfortable. The Suboxone rx'd to me got rid of all uncomfortability related to the heroin but did not provide any sense of anxiety relief. I've been a patient of One Care for many years now. In the last year I saw Dr. Wagner. I felt that my appointment was rushed and little care or concern was actually given. Dr. Wagner was actually pretty rude to me and the front desk was also a bit incompetent. EDIT*** One thing I forgot to mention was, while I was waiting in the patient room, I could hear every word the doctor exchanged with another patient in the room next to mine. This brings up a privacy issue and I certainly don't want anyone hearing what I discuss with the doctor. I didn't want to see Dr. Wagner for my renewal this time so I looked up some of the other doctors. I've never had a personal experience with Dr Portales, but I just did a search on Dr. Portales (the other doctor in the office) because if I'm not going back to see Dr Wagner, then I would want to see a different doctor. And on The Medical Board of California (http://www.mbc.ca.gov/) and it shows that Dr Portales' license is "LICENSEE PLACED ON PROBATION". Through that same CA government website, it also states that Dr. Portales' license in Kentucky is restricted/limited for an indefinite period of time. What I found stopped me from going in. EDIT 2*** I was threatened to get sued by Dr. Portales for leaving this 100% truthful, legitimate, negative review. Today, 7/14/14, I see that Dr. Wagner has commented on my opinionated and factual review of his clinic (he is the current owner, hasn't always been the owner). Just to be clear, I AM a patient at One Care Medical Center, considering I have my files there, and have had both Dr. Wagner and Dr. Chen on separate visits. I am not a relative to any of the names mentioned in Dr. Wagner's comment. In my opinion, it's pretty racist to think that just because we have the same last names, we are related. If you check the filtered reviews, you can see that Dr. Wagner tried to review his own business multiple times, but was taken down because it violates Yelp's Terms of Service or Content Guidelines. read more

When I lived in Santa Ana in 2012 I searched for doctors who would write a prescription for Hydrocodone and Soma, that is when I found Dr. Wagner. After a quick intake process which included a urine drug screen I saw Dr. Wagner for a intake visit. I was given a 30 day supply for both. I returned to his office two weeks later and told him that I had been traveling and my meds must have stolen from my luggage. I walked out of his office with another 30 day supply for each after little convincing. I have just started living clean and sober after 10 plus years of hydrocodone abuse. The front office staff is polite and courteous with the exception of Dr. Wagner. On one visit I had been experiencing some very dangerous withdrawals and my BP was 220/150 and I felt this was a life threatening situation. Dr. Wagner has labeled and stigmatized me indicating to me that I needed to find god in order to resolve my "medical situation." He asked me about my relationship with Jesus and how if I improved my spiritual relationship I would recover. I was a patient of OC Comprehensive for a year and a half approximately. I had referred a client to Dr, Wagners office . When i found out my treatment was discussed with my client on his appointment I was shocked and speechless . It was unprofessional and a clear violation of my rights as a patient. I promptly reached out to their office to discuss this violation to try and understand why this happened and possibly resolve the problem . However, the lack of communication with their office was clearly indicative of the offices poor management , especially when I received a non response 12 days after my initial contact. It was very clear this sensitive matter was not important enough for Dr Wagners office to immediately address.
