I absolutely love OC Montessori Academy! If you're looking for childcare or a school for your child, I highly recommend this program. I want to acknowledge all of the wonderful teachers, staff, and especially the Director, Mrs. Karen, for their dedication and care. The Montessori approach, combined with the academic and extracurricular programs, truly supports children in developing their academic, emotional, social, and communication skills. My son, who is now 17, attended OC Montessori Academy years ago, and now my daughter is enrolled. One of the most meaningful parts of our experience is that my son's preschool teacher, Ms. Teama, is now my daughter's teacher -- which speaks volumes about the consistency and long-term commitment of the staff. I was amazed to see how quickly my daughter began reading and writing in kindergarten. She has advanced tremendously, and the confidence she carries in her learning has been incredible to witness. I was especially impressed when she volunteered to recite a poem for her Kindergarten graduation. This moment showed how OC Montessori Academy empowers children with confidence, independence, and public communication skills that will benefit them for life. First of all, I really appreciate Miss K, the school director, for always being so friendly and kind to us. When I visited the school for the first time, I was quite nervous because it was for our first daughter, so I was very focused. But Miss K kindly explained everything to us in detail, and I felt so happy. I thought, "This school will be a wonderful place for my daughter." All the other teachers are also very nice. Since I am not from here, communicating in English is sometimes difficult for me, but all the staff are very patient and supportive, which I really appreciate. Most importantly, my lovely daughter loves going to school every single day, and that makes me so happy. Oh, and the location is great too! It's been a great experience at this school! My husband is the picky one when it comes to choosing a school for our daughter. We love the open concept of the school, the teachers (especially Ms Lisa & Ms Laura). The Director Karen is also very accommodating to our needs as well. Both my kid and my niece enrolled here since 2023 and it's been going very well. Been coming here for early childhood years here. Tuition was very friendly and the kids get to do a lot of fun stuff in the program. Kids get an array of subjects to learn and all sorts of projects they get to partake in. The play area is big with lots of green. Kids get hot meals for breakfast and lunch. read more

My child used to attend preschool here, and many things happened, including bumps and collisions. The attitude towards children was particularly biased. Also, since we only have this one child and have no experience, the tuition fees for the first month of school are not refunded. They ask for fees one week in advance every month, but we have never been there in the new month. I didn't find a department that can effectively manage them before, and I asked for an explanation. I finally found it and shared it with everyone. The Social Welfare Bureau has a department that specifically manages these places that take care of children. If you have any problems, go to the Welfare Bureau to complain. read more

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't enroll your child here. The teachers are great, but the director and owners are untrustworthy. It's a shame they made such a short-sighted decision to rescind their offer of crediting our daughter's prepaid tuition for those two months, a little flexibility and empathy during this unprecedented pandemic would have gone a long way, we have two other children we planned to enroll in the future once they came of age. My oldest son started this school since he was 2 years old and we LOVE IT! I'm always raving about it when anyone ask me where my kids go. I highly recommend OC Montessori Academy. They have a different curriculum monthly. The program is wonderful .They learn language art, math every day. Healthy breakfasts and catered lunches are provided each day, along with snacks in between. The school is clean and inviting. They have a large, clean open classroom. a nice and big playground that my daughter loves playing outside . Along with the day-to-day activities, they are always doing special things around the holidays for the kids/parents (Christmas program, easter egg hunt, valentines etc). The director is dishonest. Our daughter was there for just 1 week total. Daughter was 1 week in a 1 month prepaid tuition when the pandemic started. We decided not to bring her back until the situation was better and was told we couldn't get the rest of the tuition back, which we accepted...but what sucks was we didn't get back what we had to provide to the school. We had to give at least 2 big containers of bateria wipes, rolls of napkins, crayons, markers, a container to put her belongings in, and other misc for her. We asked for them back and was told they got rid of everything except her extra pair of clothes. She said they emailed, called, and left messages, but we didn't call back, so they threw them away. Both my husband and I didn't get any calls or emails... We decided not to bring our daughter back or have our son go there. We told all our friends and family not to go there. read more

I love love love this school!! My son Milan attended for couple months shy of 2 years.. He absolutely excelled to be an intelligent, clever, loving, happy child.. Everything a parent wants from a school. Very caring staff, super sweet teachers especially Ms.Le, Ms. Liz, Ms.Tori, & Ms. Karen. He was attending when and. Robyn was there too & we love her as well. From his first year of attending like any normal 2 year old Milo would have his breakdowns & Ms. Le, Ms.Liz (during the time was Ms.Robyn) any of the 3 gals would always be there to console & help him calm down.. as a 1st time mom that was priceless to know what great care he was in.. made me feel better to knowing I made the right choice sending him there. As he transitioned to room 2 with Ms. Tori who was just as amazing & Ms.Karen took over as director & did a great job too. Unfortunately we had to take Milan out since we had another baby girl & financially couldn't afford to continue sending him.. when baby girl gets old enough we will be sending her to OCM! I don't recommend this school because center director Ms. Robyn. One day she sent my son home for pink eye. When I picked him up I noticed that it was just his allergic reaction but I know school policy so I took him to see his doctor and it was just " allergic conjunctivitis" Next day I took him to school with Dr's note and nothing happened, but following that day when I picked him up to school Ms.Robyn told me that she sent 5 kids home today because of pink eye...first, I didn't know what she is talking about. But she said my child is the only one who has pink eye and she raised her voice and said to me "allergic conjunctivitis" is highly contagious! So I tried to explain the different between "allergic conjunctivitis" and just "conjunctivitis" itself but she didn't believe me so I called the Dr's office and asked the nurse to explain for Ms. Robyn but she was yelling at me and said "I'm not gonna talk to anybody!!" and walked away from me. I was so surprised for her reaction. I have a middle schooler and I've seen many teachers and principals but she is the rudest and bossiest person. If she knew a little better or she was capable to study what ALLERGY CONJUNCTIVITIS is I don't have to be harassed by her. At the same day Ms.Robyn received another Dr's note from my son's physician she finally found out that is not contagious.She called me and said I never thought your son was the one to spread pink eye in the class...BUT she was clearly accusing me and said my son is the one. No apology nothing from her... If you don't mind to be harassed by Ms.Robyn send your child to this school but I saw many odd moments too!! read more

I am by far, overly satisfied with OC Montessori. My two older kids have been enrolled through Kindercare, La Petite Academy and Page Academy, and they did not deliver the same experiences I have had thus far, here at OC Montessori. Finding this place for my 2 year old daughter was such a blessing! The new school director, Ms. Karen, had a huge impact on why I chose this place. She is very approachable and always has a smile on her face no matter what time of day it is! She is very much involved with all of the kids, knowing what is going on and multi tasks with all of the fun activities. I don't know how she does it but she does it perfectly well! My daughter came in learning her full abc's, can count up to 20, has learned all of her colors AND got potty trained all within a super short period of time! It's amazing how much she has picked up! I can tell how much she loves being here and how much she enjoys seeing her past and present teachers. Special thanks go out to Ms. Le, Ms. Nina, Ms. Preet and Ms. Lisa for showing her so much love all the time! Last but not least, I have to mention the most amazing experience I have had with this school. The school has this year end performance for those who are graduating and for each classrooms to perform a song or recite a poem. Parents: This will be the cutest, most precious performances you will EVER see!!! I don't want to go into any details on what sort of programs they do so no spoil alerts here but I NEVER got to experience this with my two older ones. It was so creative and amazingly shows how much our little ones have learned through out the school year. This school has been the most amazing thing to help prepare my child for his future. My son has been attending since 2014 & we are sad to leave at the end of this month. Having experience with 3 local schools, this is by far the best! Ms. Karen is more than amazing and always has an open door policy for questions and helpful suggestions. We have had interactions with all teachers and they are very caring & really want to see your child thrive. They have recitals twice a year that the children practice a few weeks for. We have so many wonderful art projects he has completed here. I would recommend this school for their great curriculum. Also, what child would not enjoy their playground?! Let me first start off by saying I've visited 7 local schools in the surrounding area before we decided on Oc Montessori Academy. I called a few times but they never received my messages. I found it odd so we decided to drop by the school unannounced. The director, Krista was really sweet and showed us around even though we didn't have an appointment. Our son loved the school. He had just turned two. He didn't want to go home after the tour was over. The director gave me the option of sitting in a class before committing to anything. This made me feel so much better. It's tough leaving your child with a stranger. The first day he was a little clingy but was very curious of his surroundings. Ms. Le had a very thick vietnamese accent and worried me for a minute. I was concerned that my child's first words would be with a vietnamese accent. That wasn't the case. After being in Ms. Le's class for 4 weeks my son was about to count to ten, he knew most of his colors and could sing his abc's. It was amazing. She taught him everything I was trying to teach him for months. Every time I stop by unannounced she's feeding him or changing his diaper. She really cares about her kids. She sings to them if they can't nap. She's so good with him. After a few months of school my son told me he loved Ms. Le. It made me so happy to know that he is in good hands. She changes his diaper every hour. She remembers every little detail of each child. Every time I pick him up she gives me a report of how much he ate and how many times he went to the bathroom. I tell this to every parent I know, you can't get better care for your child than the staff at Oc Montessori Academy. It's been one year since we started and my son has moved to the next class. Ms. Le still comes by to check on him. His new teacher Ms. Parker is also very sweet. She's very good about making sure my son becomes independent. He's now three. Ms. Parker has taught him all his shapes, more phonics, lefts and rights, days and months. I honestly can't say enough about how wonderful this school is. It's amazing how much growth and independence my son has shown in one year. Education is very important to me and I am so happy I chose this school for my son. read more

What an amazing school OC Montessori is! My son is just thriving here! The teachers and director Ms. Robyn are all wonderful and they really do care about the students. I love how all the teachers and Ms. Robyn know all the students by name! I am immediately notified of any incidents involving my son and everyone is willing to discuss with me if I have any concerns. Just be aware that the parking lot is really small so take that into consideration when dropping/picking up your child. We can park in the neighborhood during school events. This school offers field trips, all kinds of fun activities like splash day and a color run during the summertime. There's Halloween parades, classroom parties, a holiday performance, even a Lunar New Year parade where all the kids and teachers can dress up in traditional ao dai! My son really loves the weekly hip hop class taught by Ms. Robyn, herself! My son comes home one day reciting all the days of the week and all the months in order, surprising the heck out of me! We all just love this school! I'm editing this review 08/05/16- I just want to mention that I've stopped by this school unannounced several times already and I never have any complaints or question what the students are doing. Every single time I've come unannounced, I've seen the students learning or laughing and having fun. I've only seen the students in front of a TV once, and that was on a scheduled Disney movie day and they were watching I believe about half hour of Frozen. School lunches served are a good variety each day, from lasagna to Spanish rice to chicken nuggets to pizza day Fridays. There's always some type of vegetables and fruits with the meals. Ms. Robyn takes notice of what the kids like and don't like and she tries to switch the menu around and she makes sure they get adequate nutrition. The kids get weekly PE activities and there are more active activities such as splash days and color runs and hip hop class. Ms. Robyn follows a strict health policy- basically if your kids are sick- DON'T send them to school, please. She is very protective of EACH and every single kid and she does her best to keep each kid safe and well protected and makes sure parents are well informed. This is a great school. My son loves going here, loves his teachers, and has so much fun everyday. My son started at OC Montessori Academy when he was 3. He started in room 1 which is for the younger kids and worked his way up to room 5. He is currently attending kindergarten at OC Montessori. I am so thankful i chose this school and gave my son a head start on his education. He is way ahead of kids his age in math, reading, spelling, and he even learned how to color in between the lines :) About a year ago they installed a big new park style play area with slides, monkey bars and all the goodies. The kids loves the school grounds. It is always clean and well manicured. There is an area where the kids help take care of a garden. My son always comes home telling about this type of vegetable and that type of plant. The school has P.E. once a week. They offer a few different types of dance classes. Tumble Bus comes every Monday and is one of my sons favorite things to do. When my son started here when he was 3 years old we lived close. We have since moved further away but my son loves it so much I make the drive back and forth everyday. My only complaint is that OC Montessori Academy only goes until 2nd grade...The teacher to student ratio is somewhere in the 14-1 range which is awesome. So I had an issue with one of their Montessori school located in fountain Valley. And I wanted to reach out to the owner of the Montessori Academy. Instead of asking the director at fountain Valley, I reached out to this one to see if I can obtain the owners email address. I spoke to the director who asked me to forward to her the email conversations that I have been having with the director in fountain valley so she can forward them to the owner. I called back the next day to get an update and she informed me that the owner is aware and will give me a call back because the owner is concern. Well, that never happened and I never got any phone call from the owner. All I got was excuse after excuse, to be honest..... I don't think the owner was ever reached out in the first place and as employees, they are trying to keep this among themselves. read more

Where do I begin with this school?? (Big Sigh). I will start with the good: Decent location; exceptional facility and play areas; the teachers do geuninely seem to care about their students; and very affordable tuition hence the two stars. Our experience is ours and ours alone so you'll have to decide for yourself whether it's for you or not. What's that saying you get what you pay for?? My daughter was in Room 1 being 2 years old and not potty trained. She began December 2016 and I pulled her out end of March 2017. The Bad: I realized that the Teachers and TA were only changing her Pull Up about once a day only when she went poop otherwise they didn't change her at all. I started to suspect this was the case because she was soaking wet when I picked her up or they wanted to suddenly change her when I showed up. So I started writing numbers in her Pull-Ups and one day I sent her with a different colored diaper and left extras that were of a different brand/color and when I picked her up she was in the same one I dropped her off in and on another occasion I picke her up she was sitting in poop and it was dried as though she had been sitting in it for hours: NEGLECT. My daughter always seemed miserable there and I didn't like that either. I was upset with this so called Potty-Training which was non-existent. They were obviously too lazy to put her on the Potty every hour which is needed when potty-training or just felt they didn't have the time either way don't say you potty train when you don't. While I liked the Teachers in the classrooms most of the time I didn't think they were particuarly nuturing or caring; they did what was required of them. It bothered me that I could not communicate with Ms. Lee as she has a heavy Vietnamese accent. I liked her but I had a hard time deciphering what she said 80% of the time and my daughter never warmed up to her she always ran from her which concerned me. Director Ms. Robyn suddenly left for no reason and was replaced by Ms. Karen and while I liked her the change was never explained to me. The location, while ideal to freeways, I didn't care for because of the many transients in the area. The hot food program was pretty gross and completely unhealthy. It was mostly heated up stuff which I never understood because healthy food isn't that expensive and really the Parents probably would be more than happy to alternate bringing in lunches and snacks but I guess that would be a liability; catering from a healthy food lunch program would be better. When Ms. Robyn was there it was very clean but that kind of went downhill after she left. I never thought it was exceptionally clean just cleaner than most germ-ridden smelly preschools are. I thought Ms. Lee could improve on her cleanliness and enforce cleanliness practices with the kids. I never saw her wash the kids hands before meals or after coming in from outside play. Lastly and the last straw for us was contracting lice from this place. It's most likely we had it for about 2 months before we left but because I am an avid user of essential oils it most likely kept them at bay and did not become an infestation. Since we had never had this and I had never had this in my childhood or adulthood it took me some investigating and research to figure out what they were. When it was confirmed I kept her out of school for a week until I was satisfied it was completely eradicated. I used enzymes, holistic measures/oils, and sprays everyday for about 10 days in addition to washing bedding and all of our clothes for 10 days straight. Once I returned her to school I informed Ms. Karen about it and that it was completely gone but they took it upon themselves to isolate my daughter from the other kids and I know this because when I picked her up she was separated from the other children, they bagged up her sheets/blankets and this infuriated me because I am the responsible Parent and it was some selfish irresponsible Parent that brought their kid there with Lice and didn't say a word. I was done with this place and while not necessarily bad this preschool is about 85% Asian so it lacks diversity some will agrue it's great and some will not. I took my child out after an unannounced visit during lunch time...Be careful...Look elsewhere. Director is defensive and has tagged my review with a comment (see below). I have waited for over 2 years to put a review to keep my anonymity. I have never forgotten my child's experience with OC Montessori Academy and it still pains me to this day. Please take heed of negative reviews rather than be tempted by positive ones. This is not about one complaint, but several piled in a rather short period of time. Each small incident leaving me feeling raw with worry, sometimes I voiced my concern but other times I kept quiet, which caused for more heartache. A small instance: you may find few children being baby-sat by the television. I am not sure if this bothers some, but week after week, it did not make me feel that this is a true Montessori. A true Montessori will educate your child, I will not say more than this. Please ask a lot of questions & monitor your child's academic progress. Look at the work packet & worksheets. Other concerns to be on lookout for: toys, academic toys, cleanliness of the rugs & bathrooms. Check the teacher to student ratio. Above all, please come visit the school unannounced and vary the time & day if you choose to allow your child to attend. If you are paying for lunch, come see the portions & what is being served and how much of it your child is eating, if any. Inquire about who cooked the meals. I do not want to indulge too much of my own private negative experience. Too many to mention, and specific ones would mark me out. I love OC Montessori! My daughter has grown so much since we started at this school two years ago. Not only are her academics far beyond other kids her age, she has gained so much self confidence. If I ever have a concern I know I can always go to Ms. Robyn and it will get taken care of. My daughter has grown so attached to all the teachers here, but the main person that keeps us coming back everyday is Ms. Robyn. It's hard for me to read a negative review because in my experience I have nothing but great things to say about the school and Ms.Robyn. I will say that with everything she has to put up with on a daily basis, I am always impressed by how she keeps her cool and always has a smile on her face. I write this review to alert parents out there who might have the same situation I just have had at this school First need to read carefully about the advanced monthly payment policy as it is written misleading to me personally after all that would not reserve your privilege to get back your refund by the time you are not happy to continue to have your kids with them I have my little kid 5 years old enrolled at this school beginning of 8/2018. Paid 150$ for enrollment, 755$ for monthly fee and 40$ supply fee (80$ total but I paid only 40$ I told them I want to evaluate the school how my son would get along well By 8/20 they asked for the next month deposit of 765$ By 8/30 End the day I found my kid sat alone by a tree with some tiny scratches on his face and taped with an emergency bandage. And no one was around him. I asked the caregiver she said already alerted him not to climb the tree. (I am agreed at some point of kid playful characteristics) but I think it is an irresponsible respond somehow. I understand that the caregiver could not look at all the kids at once but I found my kid was left alone while they could gather and guide them all together under their supervision. I talked to my boy how well he was getting along with the school and with friends etc... he said he felt lonely in school and wanted to go back to the public school where he is already attended last year So I explained the situation with the office and quitted the school that day. No refund of my next monthly deposit given after all Tricky situation is school policy refund requests a 30 Days Written notice in advance To summarize to parents. It won't work for me because it's only the first month enrollment I would not even have the time to evaluate the school performance Besides that as if a sudden happening in life for long absences I am also locked up without any open option as school payment requesting 10 days paying in advance and the 30 days written notice so that not even a portion of payment will be refunded even in a case of unsatisfactory to quit the school for any reasonably causes read more

I'm so amazed to see how much he's grown within the past 6 months that he's been attending this school. His teachers, Ms. Parker & Ms. Nikki are so caring and loving towards the children. My daughter has been at OC Montessori for about 6 months and we have noticed drastic improvement in her speech, social skills and learning ability. (Plus she was potty trained in 2 weeks!!!) She went from a very shy girl to being very vocal and working hard to use her vocabulary. I credit Ms Robin and her staff for being very proactive and making sure that a good curriculum and healthy policies are followed. My daughter when from hating to go to school in the morning (at her previous school) to waking up every morning and looking forward to going to school to see her teachers and friends. Under the direction of Miss Karen, the school has a better quality amongst them. She makes sure the school is run nicely and properly despite the owner not allowing certain things to be up to date. This is wonderful school. The teachers here are very compassionate and willing to help each child excel to the next level. I have tried many school's before and this is the first place I felt comfortable leaving my child without any worries. OC Montessori is an excellent school with teachers who really care about their students. My son has been at OC Montessori since he was 3 years old. I have seen him grow, learn, and become a more confident little boy. He has had Ms. Tess, Ms. Nikki, Ms. Taima, Ms. Silvia, Ms. Vivian, Ms. Bella, and Ms. Robyn as teachers; because of them my son comes home everyday excited to tell me what he has learned. He even participates in Ms. Robyn's hip hop class. He enjoys it very much and will continue to dance even when he leaves the school this year. Everyone at OC Montessori is professional and personable. The director before Ms. Robyn was nice as well, but in my opinion, was not as involved as Ms. Robyn is. I cannot say enough about her. She is great. My son especially loved the parent/student color run and all the fun activities planned in summer school. OC Montessori is a wonderful school and I would highly recommend it to parents; here your child will learn so much and have tons of fun doing it. read more
