Ask the Community - Beth David Preschool

    Does the school provide meal?

As of 2025, they provide morning and afternoon snacks. Parents will provide lunch for kids to bring to school.

I'm looking a school for my baby 22 months old.I heard some people said Montessori school are good. Any moms has any experience about Temple Beth David compare to Montessori? Please give me some advices, thanks so much ?

Their approach is pretty close to Montessori without a Montessori price tag. They encourage and guide kids to be independent/able to care for themselves (e.g., potty training -- with parents' assistance, washing hands, cleaning up after themselves)…

My grandson and others had a great time digging a big hole all while being closely supervised. Great place for kids to spend the days of summer . Highly recommended; visit to check it out. Six months seems like a good time to really attest to the quality of swim lessons my sister has with Isabella, her swim instructor. We went in hoping with all our might that my sister would be paired with a good instructor who has experience with individuals with special needs. At the beginning, I tried to find reviews on specific instructors and times that worked best, and ultimately, with sheer dumb luck, we chose Isabella. That decision has been a very fortunate luck of the draw for my sister to have Isabella for her instructor. We had very low expectations for my sister's goal in learning to swim. However, with Isabella's guidance, care, compassion, and immense patience, my sister's progress has exceeded our expectations. Isabella is a wonderful instructor who embodies warmth, positivity, and is firm even when she brings on new challenges for growth, which is perfect for my sister. With her compassion and kindness, Isabella has managed to make major progress with my sister to allow swimming goggles to be placed over her eyes. For nearly all her life, my sister has hated being submerged under water, goggles over her eyes, or anything over her face, but Isabella has been able to change that and help my sister grow in less than a year. Isabella is efficient and effective as a swim instructor. Isabella offers a safe and welcoming space for her students, including and especially those with special needs. Waterworks Aquatics is lucky to have such a great instructor as Isabella K., whose technical skills are just as wonderful as her care and empathetic nature to her students and the family she works with. She deserves to be recognized for her work, kindness, and patience. I do want to mention, this location is a heated pool facility, with a separate play look, is kept clean overall, and the bathrooms are decent in cleanliness. Parking also usually isn't an issue. My only complaint, and this is regarding the application/portal, is that often from my use, it has glitched where I can't always find the specific instructor. I've had to screen cap and send this over so the company can work with IT but it has happened a few times now. This is more of a technical critique and not related at all to the instructor nor facility.

The classes are organized, well structured, and taught by knowledgeable and kind staff. Our daughter is currently in the Mighty Mites class with Keira, Kylee, and Nikki. They have both been challenging and preparing her for the transition to the Junior Academy (in a couple months). We are always met by friendly staff at the front desk (most recently it was Mackenzie) and never feel rushed when we ask a question. Thank you for your response. I do want to clarify several things because I feel that my concerns…read moreare being misrepresented. First, when I stated that my daughter had not done this before, I was referring to this specific class, level, and the skills and instructions that were being asked of her that day. I am fully aware that she had previously attended your gym. Her prior attendance does not mean she should automatically know or remember every skill being asked of her, especially at five years old and after time away. Second, my concern was never simply that Coach Mary had to repeat instructions. I completely understand that coaches need to repeat themselves, especially when it comes to safety. My concern was the frustration I personally observed from Coach Mary toward my daughter and the way it affected her emotionally. I was present and watching the class myself. The reason I went over to Coach Mary in the first place was because my daughter was coming toward me crying. As her mother, I was obviously going to approach the situation and find out what had happened. I did not randomly interrupt the class to criticize anyone. I approached because my five-year-old child was visibly upset and crying. Afterward, my daughter told me she did not want to return because the experience made her feel sad and nervous. That is what concerned me as a parent. I also want to be clear that I never criticized Coach Pearla. In fact, I specifically acknowledged how patient, attentive, and understanding she was with my daughter. My concern was specifically regarding Coach Mary and the difference I personally observed in the way my daughter was treated. Regarding the description of my tone as "aggressive" and "hateful," I strongly disagree with that characterization. I approached the situation as a concerned parent after watching my five-year-old come toward me crying. Speaking up for my child when she is visibly distressed does not make me hateful or aggressive. My responsibility as her mother is to advocate for her. I also find it concerning that so much of the response focuses on defending Coach Mary's character and describing how well-liked she is. Whether she is a "fan favorite" or has positive experiences with other families does not invalidate what I personally witnessed or what my daughter experienced that day. I am not speaking for every child or every parent. I am speaking about our personal experience. Ultimately, my biggest concern remains the same: my five-year-old left the class crying, became nervous about returning, and asked me not to take her back. Instead of simply acknowledging that this experience was upsetting for a young child, the response has largely focused on defending the coach and criticizing me for raising the concern. I stand by what I personally witnessed and by my decision to advocate for my daughter.
