My First Montessori has been such a blessing to our family. My daughter started attending at 3 years old, when we first moved to town. The teachers and staff are so kind and caring - I always knew she was in the best hands when I left her. As a bonus, their curriculum is amazing! I appreciated the thematic units she participated in, the art projects (done by a devoted art teacher) and character-building lessons she received. MFM is the reason she has the strong academic foundation she has now. My son attended once he turned 2, and he absolutely loved it, too. When COVID hit and my daughter was in Kindergarten, we re-enrolled her at MFM because they were able to offer in-person classes while her public school was 100% virtual. They created small pods of students, had extremely rigorous cleaning/disinfecting procedures, and were strict about masking and keeping safe check-in procedures. MFM saved us when we had to work from home. Our kids had a safe and loving place to continue their learning, & my husband and I were able to continue working full time. Wendy the Director & Emily the Assistant Director were always so responsive to our questions, concerns, & needs. They took a difficult situation & made a great, safe, and fun experience for everyone. Now that we are back in public school (grade K and grade 2), we still keep in touch with the teachers and staff at MFM, as they are like family to us. I cannot recommend My First Montessori enough!!!

My daughter Gia just got a blue ribbon award from her school district for her artwork - a self portrait of herself using mixed media. She was the only student from her school that got selected. Her artwork was is on display at the GGUSD VAPA center. She has developed incredible art skills and confidence while in Ms. Lorraine's art class at my first Montessori. This school was her first and the skills that she had learned carried with her to her current school. We are so grateful to have Mrs. Shab and Ms. Lorraine as teachers for our daughter. Their impact on her development is more than words can express. They made it fun, challenging but best of all promote confidence, and sense of self proudness. Even after almost a year apart from MFM, Gia still misses and adores her teachers Mrs. Shab, Ms. Lorraine and Ms.Lillies.

There were 25 students from 1st grade to 4th grade, small classrooms, far less students compared with other private schools out there. There were 1 spelling notebook, 4 textbooks (1 for Math, 2 for English, 1 for science used only couple times) for 4th grade. Now my daughter is in big private school for 5th grade, she loves her new school with many classmates/friends (my daughter did not like Heritage after 2 years here, I made her to stay another 2 years, my mistake. I regret it all the time). Her new school has 10 text books with many different subjects for 5th grade. Heritage taught her 4th grade Math good, but reading & writing here is not good enough for 4th grade. I had to spend a lot money for private tutor to teach her reading & writing since 2024. Heritage told parents to push back 1 grade lower for all elementary students (not good to tell students to detain grade at kindergarten or elementary because this grade level is very easy. It is common for students at other schools to skip or jump grade, not detain grade. I find out all her friends were done with Heritage and now in same new school with her, they all pushed back 1 grade except my daughter). My daughter was old enough (birth date) and good knowledge to be in 4th grade last year, but they put her in 3rd grade at beginning until I made a request to talk to Ms. Shalane that I'll apply my daughter to 5th grade this year (2025), no matter what! All parties, events at Heritage, parents are required to bring food or decorated supplies for class. The tuition is high, lack of teachers (some teachers left Heritage), boring Heritage Montessori school. I'd say Heritage is only good for 2 years old children to 2nd grade students. The good thing about this school is school starts 8:30am for kindergarten to 4th grade, TK and children start 9am. Students at younger age can sleep a lil bit more. Most other schools start 7:50am or 8:00am for TK to 8th grade.

My child has been enrolled at LePort since the infant program. He had Mrs. Sheikh as his infant…read moreteacher and she did amazing to prepare him for the Toddler program. She is loving and no nonsense at the same time. That's the best combination of you ask me. The teachers who care and push you to be better at what you do. Before the transition to the Toddler program Mrs. Sheikh paused and ended up recommending a different teacher instead of the originally assigned teacher. She took the time to consider my son's personality and thought about whose teaching style would best suit him and allow him to thrive. This really speaks volumes to the amount of care and thought that goes into each stage of your child's journey at LePort. My son is currently in Ms. Arzate's toddler class. I wanted to take a moment to recognize her and thank her for all that she does. She not only educates our children, but us parents as well, similar to Mrs. Sheikh. The moment that I appreciated the most is when I came in complaining about everything that my son was doing "wrong" and she stopped me and had me reflect on what I was saying in front of my child. During the moment, I wanted to cry and felt like in some way I had failed my son as a Mom. This honest moment, helped me step back and re-evaluate my interactions with my son. I didn't want him to feel bad like he was always doing something wrong, when in fact he's doing really great. I want him to know that I see his progress and that I am really proud of him and that he should be proud of himself. The next day, on the way to pick up our son, my husband and I were talking about my husband's concerned about wet events in public. I thought about the conversation that I had with Ms. Arzate. I said to him that this may be a year long journey and we can't keep our son exclusively at home or school for a full year. I reminded him that originally our son wasn't going to start night potty training until 6-8 weeks of daytime potty training. At two weeks into daytime potty training, Ms. Arzate's already felt that he was ready to start night time potty training. It was quite the accomplishment and I wanted us to recognize that. We ended taking our son out for dinner and at the end of the meal, my son stopped what he was doing and started to say "pee pee". He held it in until I could rush him to the car and peed in his travel potty. Later, before bed, he got up to go to the bathroom. I expected him to wait for me in the hallway or bathroom in the dark. However, he got up on the stool, turned on the bathroom lights then sat and peed in the potty without being prompted. The culmination of all the hard work by the teachers is starting show through. I am in awe and incredibly grateful for the teachers and staff at LePort of the wonderful work they do to prepare our children for the future. Don't let the older facility look fool you into going somewhere that looks newer. It's the teachers, staff and community that make LePort an amazing place that you can trust to send your child.

Ms. Gallo was very informative during the meet & greet and helped eased a lot of my anxieties putting him into a new environment. When he officially started, Ms. Gallo would call and gave updates on how he was doing. Every day after class, she would let us know how his day went and continued to reassure that things would get better. Our son took to her right away. She has been warm, empathetic, and observant of his needs. Over the past couple months, our son has begun to really thrive! He is more confident in himself and very independent. He has taken the skills that he's learned in school and has started generalizing to home. He grabs his plate and utensils when it's meal time. He cleans up after himself when he's done eating. He uses the potty, cleans up, and washes his hands independently. His speech has grown exponentially. He went from speaking in simple sentences with improper grammar and pronoun usage to speaking in complex sentences. It is apparent that his language abilities are really being fostered in class. It is amazing how much he's grown in such a short amount of time. He talks about his friends daily and tells me how much he loves Ms. Gallo. We are so happy that Ms. Gallo is our first teacher and so excited to see how much he'll continue to grow.

With one child now in elementary another in TK, we continue to stay because the level of education and personal development is amazing. With the change in ownership in 2025, we have seen increased communication and a new passion for growing the community and improving the school. We are now an integrated part of the MCDC family, with students enrolled since 2017. Yes, that's 9 years and still going. I can't say enough how wonderfully the teachers at MCDC care for their students and provide the foundations for independence, emotional IQ, and academics. Now, to be completely transparent, everyone is human, people/businesses make mistakes, but here is the thing about MCDC, they will course-correct and not turn a blind eye to parents' feedback. The school did go through an ownership change during the summer of 2025. Current families at the time, including myself, were obviously concerned; no one ever likes change when something is already so good to be true. Before then, teachers rarely left, but I think, coincidentally, a few teachers left around the same time as the ownership change. To my understanding, it was mainly due to changing personal and family situations. But for the families who remained through the transition, now steady into the new academic year, I feel that the school has continued its strengths and has gotten even better. The new director has invested in facility improvements and brought in new education programs, it's like a breath of fresh air. Shout out to all the teachers there for the amazing work they have done and continue to do with my kids.

Finding a new school at that time wasn't easy. When I first visited FVM, there were no spots available, but I was impressed by how well-organized everything was--from the classrooms to the curriculum. I even asked Ms. Sneha, the school director, if I could pay a higher tuition just to secure a place for my daughter because I wanted her to attend so badly. Fortunately, a family was about to leave, and we were able to enroll her. That turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. Since then, my daughter has thrived with teaching tailored to her abilities rather than her age (she has a late birthday, so in the public school system she would still be at the preschool level). Thanks to the support of her teachers, she has excelled academically. After a year at FVM, she took the GATE exam through the school district. Not only was she able to skip a grade, and she was also accepted into the GATE program. I truly believe this wouldn't have happened if she hadn't attended FVM. I'm incredibly grateful to FVM and all the staff. Ms. Sneha is such a kind and caring person. Without her, my daughter wouldn't have had the opportunity to learn here. Ms. Neranja, one of my daughter's primary teachers, holds strong teaching principles, and whenever I speak with her, I feel confident that my daughter is in good hands. My daughter often talks about her teachers at home, especially Ms. Neranja and Ms. Erika. Although my daughter has only been at FVM for a short time, the experience has had a profoundly positive impact and laid a strong foundation for her future educational goals. I cannot thank everyone enough--I am truly grateful.

We were immediately impressed by the beautiful campus, and how clean everything was. We were so confident in what we saw that we put down a deposit that day, and our son started the following spring when he was two years old. Gaowa has been an incredible place for him. They nurtured his natural curiosity and love of learning, especially when it came to reading and math. He was reading before he turned four, and I truly believe his teachers played a huge role in fostering his love of reading, even bringing in chapter books just for him. When our son was four, we went through a period where he was having some behavioral challenges. Instead of blaming him or us, or making him feel like he was a "problem child," the teachers worked alongside us to give us tools to help him. They approached the situation with patience, compassion, and genuine care, and I'm incredibly thankful for the way they supported our family during that time. We put our daughter on the waitlist before she was even born. She attends Gaowa now, and we've made the decision to keep her there for TK instead of moving her to public school because the education and nurturing environment are exceptional. The teachers genuinely care about the children. They know each child as an individual and create an environment where kids feel supported, encouraged, and excited to learn. Like any newer school, Gaowa experienced some growing pains in the beginning. There was more staff turnover than we would have liked during those early years. However, through all of that, the quality of the education remained outstanding, and over time the school has become much more stable. If you're looking for a Montessori school that provides a strong academic foundation while also nurturing independence, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning, I highly recommend Gaowa!
