The cost was about average, but I decided to just have them take the initial step to reattach the original antenna. For the record, we started our search for this issue at the Nissan dealership; however, they wanted to charge $160 just to diagnose, which was not reasonable and Kent's only charged $55. We returned the following week for them to locate and reconnect the wire behind the dash. Once the radio was removed, Preston informed us there was no cable anywhere behind the dash, but the radio did have the connection necessary, so he tried a separate antenna, which brought up the station right away, so we decided to have them install it and we were on our way. I have to say that it has been a very long time since I had any desire to throw money at a company; however, Preston was excellent and very knowledgeable and the other staff were friendly. I cannot speak to other places, but can tell you why would you go anywhere else after finding what you need with Kent's. I highly recommend their business. I would also recommend that anyone purchasing a used vehicle with a satellite radio to push the button before making the purchase to ensure it is working, because I believe the dealership in Colorado removed the wire in order to gain more money from me after driving it off the lot.

First off let me say that I initially met with Lisa who was very friendly and seemed trustworthy…read more I explained to her that after a check engine light showed up I had Auto-zone run their scanner on my vehicle. They did so free of charge and returned error code P1757 recommending to replace the governor and possibly the transducer in the transmission. I further explained to Lisa that after the governor and the transducer were replaced, the check engine light returned with the error code P0868. She said they could do a full diagnostics for $150 made be a transmission specialist. She made a note of the recent history on my ticket. I told her I would leave the scanner reports and changed parts in my truck cab in case their technician needed to refer to them. A few hours later, a gentleman who I believe to be the owner called me, saying that they would need me to approve an expense of $600 to $900 for them to finish the diagnostic, because they would need to drop the pan to go further into figuring out what is wrong. I declined and asked when I could pick up my truck. He said he would have to see because they would first have to put my truck back together if I was declining to go any further. I confirmed I wanted my truck back and he said he could have it ready later in the day. When I got there i asked what they had done. it turns out they had only plugged in their scanner and printed out the report. The same type of report I had told them Autozone had done for free and that I had left for their convenience in my truck. I paid my $156 and asked to see the report. obviously it returned the exact same two error codes P0868 and P1757. Nothing more. It took them all but 3mn to start the engine, plug in the scanner, turn off the engine then plug the scanner into their computer and print out the report. So when I remembered that over the phone, the owner had claimed that if I wanted my truck back he would have to see to "put it back together" this was a huge red flag as to their honesty and straight forwardness. When I asked him in person why they did not do more diagnostics then simply running a scanner, when they knew I had already done so, he responded that he was not going to have his guys drop the transmission pan for $150. I would not have had a problem if he had been upfront and had explained that his diagnostics would be nothing more than plugging a scanner. i would have likely skipped that step and asked how much it would cost me to get an actual professional transmission diagnostic. When I got home from their shop, I was surprised to realize that my box with the parts and diagnostics report made by Autozone were no longer in my truck. Needless to say I will find someone else to work on my vehicle.

I repeat, "DO NOT PATRONIZE" Why? because they give EVERYONE a 9AM appointment then tell them "First Come, First Serve!" ...well, I WAS the first one there and first in the door (exactly 9AM) and what appeared to be the manager/proprietor (heavy-set) bearded guy stated he was going to take another customers vehicle first and I immediately raised the BS Flag informing him I was here first. Well, he didn't care he was taking her first and that my tint would be taken after hers (which meant it wouldn't be done till later that afternoon. I informed him that I was there before everyone and that I was promised first come first serve, he replied that they don't do business that way and asked who told me that, I informed him "Pedro" told me that. He said well, that means I will have to fire Pedro or handle my car as discussed (after the female). I raised the BS flag again stating that I was promised if I arrived first I would be out first but the fat dude didn't care and told me to take my Groupon and leave. I left and found a much better "Tinting Business" with better quality tint (3M Ceramic) and cheaper just down the street! so glad I left that dump so again, DO NOT PATRONIZE ocala car audio! bad business practices! - RESPONSE TO PARISH: Well of course the ladies there were happy I left because I was there before them therefore; they were able to move up in line. Again, my appointment was slated for 9AM not 11AM like you're trying to sugar coat it. Again, bad business practices conducted by "ocala car audio" and will boycott your business. I reported my treatment by you to Groupon and they refunded my account and informed them as well as future customers that your business treats Groupon customers less than paying customers! read more

I seldom write reviews. I feel compelled to do so for Ocala Car Audio (OCA). I recently had OCA install an audio system in my van. I must give kudos to the rank and file. The professional talented personal, installed the audio package I purchased in an elevated and timely fashion. OCA installed the equipment in strategic locations throughout the vehicle to maximize acoustics. All conductors were loomed and secured. Outstanding craftsmanship. The crisp unadulterated sound is beyond expectation. I enjoy the big band sounds of the 1940's. The musical instruments are so clear and resilient. I had a stereo installed in my corvette by another car audio shop. Won't use their name. I'll refer to them as UAD. After getting my car back, the bass in my Bose system was gone. Went back to UAD and explained the problem. They proceeded to tell me that I needed to add a amp. $300 for the amp and about 3 hrs labor at $75 an hr. UAD said new stereo wasn't compatible with the Bose amp. Went to Ocala Car Audio for a second opinion. Long story short, UAD fouled up the install. And then tried to sell me something I didn't need. Ocala Car Audio went in and corrected UAD's incompetent install. Honest and fair. Will only be going to them for all stereo work here on out. Thanks. read more

At first I was very satisfied with Ocala Audio but now I have found out they gave me a product that was completely different from what was advertised to me. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you know what you're buying. They overcharged me for a CD player that doesn't do what they said and is only fully compatible for Iphones. He was unhappy that I had a poor experience and it was deemed attributable to a business partner he has since parted from. He refunded my money from the original install, 100%. Best Car Audio or tint shop in Ocala! Would never go anywhere else. Husband had tint done on his car several years ago, and it still looks perfect. I wont spend another dollar at this place they ripped off my son with his MMats sub-woofer which they are not authorized to sell. this sub came out of the owners truck, used.. $1000.00 later and their 3rd party finance company the sub-woofer failed then they blamed the radio. The good ones can be really expensive and the less expensive ones can be less than honest! EAS was like finding a needle in a haystack. I took my car to a dealership and that was a mistake. After them wanting to charge me an arm an a leg, I looked around for a second opinion. I was able to find these folks and after a diagnostic exam, they were able to give me an estimate for about half what the dealership wanted. They set about their work and after a couple of days, I was back in my car as if nothing was wrong. Their friendly service and attention to detail, will keep me coming back, even if I just need an oil change!
