The original plan was to have an outside wedding ceremony, then bring it inside for the reception but weather did not cooperate and all was done inside. It was all truly beautifully decorated and it all worked out great. The kitchen area was perfect to display and serve food. A mini liquor bar and sitting area was directly to the right and connected with the building, making it easier for guests to step out and beverages. Its the perfect venue for any type of event, really.

They stayed in cabins on the property. Getting there requires some patience. From the street, you turn into a dirt road that seems to go on forever until you see the lake. The ceremony was on the "wedding island", the reception in the lodge and the dancing under the pavilion. The Southern food served in the lodge was good and the cakes were dynamite. There's servers were attentive. Despite having to travel an entire day to get here, I was very blessed to be at Beaver Creek Plantation.

There are chandeliers in every building and even tucked away inside ivy covered archways. The staff was so friendly and always working to make sure the day was perfect for the bride and groom. They have an area indoors that was the perfect size for the rehearsal dinner, and located upstairs were three elegant rooms where the groomsmen can get ready, play pool, and even play cornhole outside on the balconies. The bridal cottage is a new addition that has 3 bedrooms, 4 beds, and a fully functioning kitchen. The sunroom lets in plenty of natural light for getting ready photos and has 3 vanities, plenty of large ornate mirrors as well as seating. I highly recommend this venue to future brides! This place is so far off the beaten path even the trusted GPS on my phone failed me. Entering in the physical address will get you close, but you will need to drive another 1.5 miles once you've "reached your destination". You won't be able to miss the stone and iron rod gate marked as The Southern Barn at Neely Farms. It's a gravel road downhill so take it slow. Parking will be to the left, the barn and pond will be to the right. Just before the barn is where I performed the outdoor wedding. The sunset with live music being performed and the trees and pond as a background made for a gorgeous ceremony (and no, not just because of the guy in the black suit leading the whole thing). The Barn itself is not only beautiful, but massive in size! The outdoor patio area wraps around three sides, with the pond facing side turning into a porch with rocking chairs. Inside is the changing rooms upstairs, plenty of floor space on the ground level, and a back barn door that opens for carters and such. There is little needed for decor as the woodwork on this place is all the eye needs to behold. If you have a special day coming up, give them a call.
