You do need a reservation which we tried to call multiple times before coming in but got no answer so just came and thankfully they took us but be aware you do need a reservation. The wine tasting was very nice. They give you a good amount of wine to try and it was very delicious. My critic would be that during the tasting they should give you crackers or nuts to flush your palette during the wine tasting. Besides that the tasting was nice. I got the grilled cheese which was half a grilled cheese but it was delicious. I did order a Cesar salad and they gave me an antipasta salad which I was not a fan of. Would come back read more

The Watermelon Creek Winery was a charming little place. We did feel a bit rushed during the tasting, though, since we didn't know you needed reservations. The wines were delicious, but I ended up getting a glass of the peach bellini. The shop had a ton of cool stuff to buy, too! read more

OMG, this was such a find! We were in town visiting some friends and we made a reservation for a tasting and early dinner. I was so pleasantly surprised! I am typically not a huge fan of Muscadine wine, bur the wines at Watermelon creek were delicious! They have a great variety of wines and the little shop is great too. After the tasting, we went upstairs for dinner. The food was FANTASTIC. We enjoyed everything so much that our 2 couples split a case of wine to bring home. We will definitely return again when we go back to visit our friends in Baxley! read more

Adorable hidden gem in Glenville Georgia. I went on a double date with my husband, my dear friend and her hubby. We had so much fun! We live about 1.5 hrs away from the winery. The winery is about 2 hours away from Savannah and about an hour away from Fort Stewart which is a military base. My friend and I made reservations for the wine tasting and also dinner. The winery is small but has tons of charm. It was clean with a rustic farmhouse decor. The wine tasting was very entertaining, Mr.Charles our wine tasting host was funny and knowledgeable about the history of the wine. The wine selection was great and the prices were fair. Our favorite wine was the Masters Mistress. They also have a little cute gift shop! Dinner took place on the second floor of the building. Our dinner was delicious. Our server was very nice and helpful. Overall great experience from the wine tasting to our dinner. Can't wait to go back. read more

Adorable locally owned winery. They offer tastings on the hour and you will want to call ahead and get reservations. Their wines are based on muscadine grapes (which are the only grapes that can survive in GA due to the intense heat). The wine is on the sweeter side- which isn't usually they type of wines that I like but there is certainly something for everyone here. Charles, ( the husband and part owner) gave us a ton of information on grapes, wine tasting in general, and the property- which he bought from relatives- all 300 acres and planted, harvested the grapes and built the tasting room. He is the 8th generation to own the land. The bottles feature the original owner (a relative) and a pin up girl from WWII that he credits having to helping us win the war (very cute story). He has a photo of her above the sink. The tasting is $12 and you get a glass at the end. They will also offer a 10% discount if 12 bottles are purchased. Added freebie, they will take it to your car if you buy a case (better than a shamwow!). They also have a restaurant upstairs - but again, call and make reservations. The food was fantastic! So fresh and flavorful! There was a strawberry mousse for dessert that I think was made by angels. It was sooooo good. My parents live about 40 min away and I know that they will be back. My mom loves dessert wines and Deborah and Charles are so lovely, they will be back. read more

Seriously the cutest place! We just happened to pass by this place on the way to our daughters house, so we stopped by for lunch on the way home. My husband had the watermelon wine (he loves sweet wine) and absolutely loved it. I had the Blu Passione (a dry red wine) and it was amazing. We shared the cheese plate and hubby had the chicken sandwich with pasta salad and I had the salad plate (house dressing was amazing!) Everything is made in-house and was spectacular! It is a family run business and they were the sweetest people! We will definitely be back to visit! read more

Started the evening off with the wine tasting... must say all were delicious with Masters Mistress my absolute favorite... muscadine grape with rich notes of black cherry!! Simply Amazing! That's the best way to describe this hidden gem! We decided to make the hour trek in celebration of our Anniversary after seeing it pop up on FB for weeks and we were more than pleased! The drive was definitely worth the whole experience. Dinner is by reservation only so I highly recommend getting one early in the week. When you arrive at the vineyard you are greeted with an inviting entryway with beautiful greenery and gorgeous flowers hanging from the pergola. Once you step inside you are greeted with heavenly smells and a wonderful gift shop. They have all of their wines, jams and jellies perfectly packaged and displayed. They also sell everything a wine enthusiast would need or want! After being greeted we were promptly seated upstairs. Your options during the reservation process are inside downstairs, outside upstairs ( best views) or upstairs inside. Not knowing the ever changing Ga weather we had opted for upstairs inside. We were waited on by the owners! They even took the time to call each guest by their first name. We enjoyed chatting with them and getting to know their story! They offered a wine selection ( be advised there is no other alcohol or soda offered) to which we chose 2 different ones so we could get a taste of them. They were sweet but delicious. We changed it up on the second round and were again pleasantly pleased. The food was simply AMAZING!! From the presentation to the actual taste- it was fantastic!! We started off with the stuffed mushrooms which I highly recommend!! For dinner we both chose the Earth and inlet combo ( steak, shrimp & scallops) paired with potatoes & asparagus! The dinner is served with a beautiful hydroponic salad as well. The presentation is beautiful and once you release the cucumber wrap and gorgeous salad awaits you ! They also provide a basket of warm naan and cornbread with a honey butter( yummy) For dessert we chose Creme Brûlée and a cheesecake special ! They were wonderful! The food literally melts in your mouth! The chef is young and amazing at what he does. The menu is somewhat limited but then they can focus on providing the best meal instead of 50 mediocre ones. Before we left we stopped by the gift shop and purchased some wine and pepper jelly to enjoy at home! We raved about the food and can't wait to share the experience with friends. We decided to use Watermelon Creek Vineyard for our wedding venue. When we initially met with the owners they were very friendly and accommodating. A week prior to the wedding we visited the vineyard again to pay the remaining balance and discuss how we wanted the room set up for the wedding. We were told that we could remove and rearrange the room to meet our needs as long as we returned it back like we found it. The room was dirty from a previous party, but we were told it would be cleaned. We set the table and chairs up like we wanted them and also the area for the ceremony. The previous party had also torn down the blinds on one of the windows, but that they would have it replaced before our wedding. We also rented the "Bridal Suite" so that the bride and wedding party would have plenty of room to dress and it had 2 bathrooms that could be utilized for the bridal party. This in fact was also incorrect. Once the bridal party started dressing they were told that the bathrooms were for their other guests to use as well. One of the main reasons that the Bridal Suite was rented at $350 per day was for the privacy that was promised and use of the bathroom exclusively as advertised. When we arrived to set up the day prior to the wedding the blind was not replaced (we had to purchase curtain and curtain rods out of our own pockets to fix it), there were food crumbs on the tables and floor, as well as a sticky substance all over the floor. A trip had to be made to the closest town to buy cleaning supplies and a broom to clean up the dead bugs, dirt and food on the floor. The windows also had to be cleaned. When something was said to Ms. Debra said she would have someone clean it. A woman came in and set a broom and dustpan at the door and left. It took 2 hours to clean the room, which should have been done prior to us getting there. That evening we had an arbor brought in to use for the ceremony. While unloading the arbor, Mr. Tillman approached a family member because we had parked for a moment beside the door to unload and asked if she had read his sign. This wasn't a big deal until he insisted that she walk with him to see the sign then asked her if she could read. He was very condescending to her and the bride to be. My father also made a wrong turn and was ran down by Mr. Tillman and lectured about the "proper flow pattern" that he had designed. On the wedding day we had random people walk into our wedding because the signs were not clear on where the wine tasting was taking place. When I went into the Bridal Suite I noticed that the Bridal Suite was under surveillance with a camera watching what was taking place in the room. I was very upset to think that the women were going to be watched as they changed clothes. I do not understand the purpose of having a camera in a changing room and feel like it could be a huge violation of privacy and possibly illegal. I placed a bag over the camera for our personal privacy. During the event, Mr. Tillman walked past the event several times glaring into the windows. So with all that said, the place is very pretty and offers some great picture opportunities. The downside is that the place is dirty and not kept up. The owners are very nice until they get your money then they develop a negative attitude and are very condescending to women and elderly guests. They continuously harass you about buying their wine, slushy machine rentals and other items they may sell or rent you. After walking into the nasty room the night before the wedding I would have walked away from this venue if I had another option available. Thanks to my family and friends we got the place cleaned up and the wedding went as planned with no help from the owners or staff at Watermelon Creek Vineyard. So beware before using this as your venue for your special day. And if you do use it, bring your own cleaning supplies and cover the camera for your own sense of security. read more

My husband and I are here visiting from California for the first time ever and we wanted to visit a vineyard. I'm so glad we found this place. The food is AMAZING. I visited vineyards in California of course but never been to one that had food like this. I had undoubtedly the best pork chop ever. The portions are very generous. And dessert was just as amazing. If you have not been here, make sure you definitely put it on your places to go to list! This place is a hidden gem in the middle of Glennville. There is no way in the world that I would have ever pictured this place in a small town like Glennville. I came here with a friend of mines for lunch, since we have only an hour for lunch and the place is maybe 15 minutes away from the campus where we are currently working at we decided to place a to go order, upon arriving to this amazing place we could not resist sitting out side on the balcony and enjoying our meal. The lunch special of the day was a 1/2 tenderloin burger, with steak fries, and dessert which was the angel food cake. To start off that burger was one of the best I've ever had, packed with tons of flavor and the brioche bun it was, as I like to say, a total foodgasm. The steak fries were very well seasoned and that Angel food cake was so so so moist. I asked the owner which wine he recommended for my burger and he suggested their dry blueberry wine which paired amazingly with my meal. It had just the right amount of oak and citrus to balance everything out. Even though its not "budding season (what the owner called it, on and she said it started April 1st)" there is still a pretty amazing view of the vineyard we sat outside where we were able to take in the scenic view of this very beautiful place. Inside they do have a selection of wines that you can choose to purchase for $15 of bottles the also do have an in house grape juice which I did purchase for my mother as she is not a big wine drinker. Came back the next day with my mom and my moms friend. Everything was still just as amazing. My moms friend and I both had the chicken salad. The chicken was super juicy and packed with flavor. My mom had the burger which I had the previous day. To drink I had the frozen Bellini, sweet and super refreshing. Exceptional food and service! Love the environment. We had the special tea of the day and to say it was delicious is an understatement. We opted for a appetizer of the cheese plate. I highly suggest everyone get this. It was exceptional. For the main course, we had the grilled pimento cheese panini. Best. Pimento. Cheese. Ever. So fluffy and full of flavor. It comes with a bag of chips of your choosing and a house salad. The house salad is dressed with a house made Balsamic Vinaigrette. It had tons of flavor. The entree also comes with a dessert. It was a homemade chocolate cake piece with what appeared to be homemade whipped cream. Very delicious. I will be back very soon. read more

Last weekend we (2 couples from Florida) came to the winery for lunch and wine tasting. The meal was definitely nothing good to say about. After the lunch we went down to the wine tasting. The man who guided the tasting, kept talking about Jesus!! We really didn't come to religious class. We felt really uncomfortable because no one asked us if we were acceptable. At the end of the wine tasting we went to the shop and chose several bottles of wine that we decided to purchase. We went to the checkout and the lady at cashier charged us for the lunch, the wine tasting and the bottles of wine we purchased. Then, the lady turned the computer screen to us so we can choose the percentage of tip we thought to give. When we got home, we were surprised to find that the tip charge was also taken into account for the purchase of the wine bottles we purchased !! I do not remember a case where we pay tip for what we buying in any store !! The lady at the cashier could have bring to our attention of charging the tip on the wine bottles. We assume that we are not the only ones charged in this way !! The cashier could have easily separated the bills to avoid charging tips on store purchases. If she did not do so, we believe it is a method of charging tips on things they do not deserve to. In any case, this place is not recommended, if you still visit there, pay attention to the tip charges at the checkout. read more

Went to Savanah for an extended weekend getaway. We were looking for a vineyard to experience. Found Watermelon online. Although an hour away from where we were staying, it was definitely worth the drive. Charles and Deborah were excellent host. The wine tasting was a great experience and Charles made it even better with his stories and presentation. We stayed for lunch and the food was incredible.
