I have been a customer of WFB since 1974. Recently I sold a house and moved to Redmond, OR. Prior…read moreto the sale, I saw a poster while in a branch about 4% interest on new deposits into a savings account. I already had an account with WFB, so I transferred a 6 figure amount from my checking into my savings. When I got the bank statement for that month, I only was paid $4.00 by WFB. I went in asked why, and I was told that I had to go into a branch before making the deposit. I disputed this, and the complaint department told me that they'd look into it. I just got a call from them -- they told me that because I didn't actually go into a branch, I couldn't get the 4%. So my savings only got the .01% that they pay on savings. But WFB go my money and most likely loaned it out at 7% or more -- and they will keep the difference because of an insignificant technicality. Someone at the branch could have called me when they saw the large deposit into savings -- but they didn't. Don't do business with them - I'm moving my accounts!
