When they do a good job on my nails, it is superb. It makes me not mind that they tell me I don't have an appointment when I actually do or when they run late. When they don't do a good job, it never anything more than I hate the unnatural, inside out free edge. I admit that I am super fussy about the shape of my nails. I only have to reshape them as soon as I get in my car about every 20th gel fil. The only upsetting problem I have with them is charging me extra for "repair". At $7 a pop, repairs ends up costing me more than a new set. I have been going there steady for more than six years. I was charged for a repair yesterday that did not occur. Let's blame it on language barrier. I paid the imaginary $7 repair cost and decided I will never go back. I don't mind the repair cost when they make a legitimate repair, but $7 is excessive and most other salons do not charge long term steady clients. Besides, when no extra product or time is involved, it leaves me feeling ripped off. I always give a great tip too. Imagine what they do to cheapie tippers. I was searching for a new nail salon in my area and decided to try Ocean Beauty & Nail Spa. For my first service, I tried a simple gel manicure and spa pedicure. I was so pleasantly surprised! The spa pedicure was very relaxing with a lovely foot and leg massage. She painted my toe nails perfectly. Also, completely smoothed out my calluses. The gel manicure was also done very well. She polished up to my cuticles so it lasted over two weeks. I've continued to go ever since, and have not been disappointed yet! I think this is my new, favorite nail salon. read more

Let's start with - making an appointment didn't seem to matter. While I patiently waited 15 minutes past my appointment time to even get to my chair for a pedicure, walk ins literally walked right in and sat down and were getting worked on while I still waited in my chair. Ok so, if you guys are looking for a quiet spa experience to relax and reflect, find another place. At first I thought I walked into my favorite watering hole. The girls that were working were laughing, joking and yes, even yelling across the room at each other. All in fun, of course, I think since they were laughing. Not sure if it was at the expense of the patrons packing the very small space since I did not understand what they were saying, but quiet - it was not. It was unusual, to say the least. The most important thing, of course, was a job well done. While it was not ideal, it was good enough. I've pretty much given up looking for a nail salon that will make you feel like you matter. They have a job to do and they do it, but you are just a number and I think they mostly try to do a good job so that you will tip them, not because they actually care. It was fine and clean and packed, so that's good and bad, right? I will go back, probably will not make an appointment next time as the walk ins seemed to be treated much better. I've only gotten SNS powder dip polish twice and nail wise this has been the better of the two. While I did end up liking the way my nails turned out, the man who did my nails was very gruff and rude. I am paying $40 to get my nails done and having the polish on my nails for 4ish week, naturally I want them to look good. When I asked him (very kindly) if he could file one of my nails a little more he got very annoyed. After this simple request, he started pulling and pushing my hands around for the rest of the appointment. Very rough. Very unfriendly. The gentleman I had was great, fast, best hand massage & usually bc I only ask for a simple manicure they choose to never really do my nails, so I was very happy w what he did & that he took his time and yet was still fast.. I used to go every other week with my mother. She would drive 30 minutes just to meet me and we can get our nails done together. We would always make appointments. The first several times no problems are. Before the most recent time we came and waited about 20 minutes after our initial appointment time. We thought no mind to it because it was the first time. However this most recent visit was an absolute horrific experience. I called at 11 AM to make an appointment at 3 PM for one pedicure for myself and a gel manicure for my mother. They told me no problem and we will see you then. We got there about five minutes early and we were told to pick our colors. Several people walked in without appts for more expensive services and those people happen to be very rude. It has nothing to do with the business but that is an important factor. They told me after I picked out my color to go sit in the pedicure chair which is in the back of the store front. I sat alone away from my mother. I sat there for almost 30 minutes until someone came and at least put a towel down for me to put my feet up. I sat crisscross applesauce in the chair because I didn't want to put my feet up on the pad due to some questionable dirt/dead skin. She didn't turn the water on and I was told just one more minute. The person who told me just one more minute then continue to go and take a walk in customer who wanted a full set. I waited some more. After 10 minutes past I decided to put my shoes on and get up and I was told to sit back down and wait another 10 minutes and I said "no". I then proceeded to go sit with my mother who waited about 30 minutes to get her manicure. She was partially done with her manicure when I went and sat next to her. Now her manicure, it was a half assed job and the person didn't even clean underneath her nails. With my mom's line of work and sometimes dirt gets under her nails and a manicure is what she needs to keep her nails clean. After they finished my mom's nails they then told me to go back to the chair to get a pedicure and I sternly told them no again. I wasn't going to make my mother sit around for me to get a pedicure . Little twist, as we were sitting as my mom was getting her nails done, another person walked in who was 30 minutes late to their appointment. That person wanted a pedicure. They place that person who wanted the pedicure at the same station I was at without changing the towel or anything. Zero sanitation. When we asked to speak to a manager in private so that we could voice our concerns and upsets as well as not make a scene in front of the other customers we were basically ignored. When we finally got someone who we have no idea if they were the manager or what their position was, we were just told "sorry" over and over and over. My mother still paid in full plus tip for her services, btw. They offered no sort of compensation or anything. The customer care and professionalism was a zero out of 10. This is what happens to a good business when they get greedy . Your services become half assed and you lose customers. I used to recommend this place to people but never again. They were way over priced and they made my cuticles bleed on two separate nails, after I told the girl that she was filing my SKIN and it hurt, she literally had to put liquid bandaid on my cuticles that's how bad it was bleeding. Also they charge extra to file your nails into a coffin shape, $5!!! I was not informed that it would be extra until it was time to pay which is absolutely ridiculous, a new acrylic set ended up costing me $43 so including tip it was $50, when it should be around $30. So if you want to be overcharged and leave with your cuticles bleeding this is the place for you. Otherwise I would recommend finding another nail salon! read more
