I'm…read morebeing reserved in this message, but I can honestly say this has been the worst rental experience of my life. From the moment I moved in, it was a complete nightmare. The building (6090, first-floor corner unit) had constant issues -- neighbors smoking marijuana, children running wild, and frequent police activity. It seemed like some residents were selling drugs, and the smell of marijuana would seep through the vents into my apartment. Every morning, I'd find used condoms and blunt wrappers scattered around my door. On top of that, when I first moved in, the previous tenant -- who had apparently been evicted from my unit -- repeatedly knocked on my door asking to use my phone. Despite reporting this to the leasing office, nothing was done other than being told to "call security." I eventually had to install a camera for my own safety. One night, this same woman literally passed out on my doorstep -- yet management still showed no urgency or concern. Despite filing endless complaints, nothing was resolved for months. I was finally offered a chance to switch units, but only if I agreed not to write any bad reviews -- which says a lot about their priorities. I just wanted out of my lease, but they refused to accommodate that. Instead, I was referred to the apartment complex's lawyer, who would only communicate via email with absolutely no resolution. Eventually, the troublesome neighbors were evicted for not paying rent, but shortly after, yet another nightmare began. New neighbors moved in upstairs with toddlers who ran back and forth constantly -- sometimes past 1 a.m. -- with zero compassion for their neighbors. It seemed like these people didn't work since they never left the apartment or even took their children out for a walk. The noise was unbearable, and despite repeatedly calling the police and security, the issue persisted. To make matters worse, someone tragically committed suicide by hanging themselves on their balcony during my time there. The atmosphere never improved -- it felt like an endless cycle of chaos. This place claims to be a "luxury complex," but I would have believed it was Section 8 housing based on my experience. Clearly, management doesn't seem to care who moves in, and they obviously don't run proper background or credit checks. I highly recommend doing your research before considering this place. There are plenty of newer, better-managed apartment complexes in Myrtle Beach that actually care about their residents. Save yourself the stress -- The Landings at Grand Dunes was by far the worst living experience I've ever had.
