Situated in a small shared building at the corner of Porter and Greenwood in East, Cafe Roze occupies a cozy, industrial, but soft, new age space outfitted with a small bar, a few booths, and a few stand alone tables, both inside and out. Ventured in on a weekend morning, decided to make a reservation and glad I did. While the place was not yet busy, it filled up real quick and the wait times began to climb. I grabbed the table at the very front window, which was nice and gave me a great view through the whole restaurant, while also providing a glimpse into the hustle and bustle of East Nashville. The space is clean, well maintained and definitely fits the vibe of the neighborhood. To start, I went with their house Roze Latte, which is a spin on your classic latte with the additions of rose water and lavender. Normally not my vibe for iced coffee, but it was delightful! If you are after something a bit stronger, they do have a full bar, so get that bloody or martini with that waffle! For food, I sampled around the menu, because I just had to. I went with the Stout Waffle, a side of fries and of course, the Country Ham Toast. Stout Waffle was hefty, but that was expected with "stout" in the title. Fries were crispy and fluffy, a classic and well done fry. The ham toast was my favorite, hands down. I love a good piece of toasted, yet soft sourdough bread. Then you add soft scrambled eggs, ham and parmesan on top...come on! Only critique for the ham toast is it is a bit salt-forward due to the salty ham and the salty cheese. But, it was still quite tasty. While the quality was there, the pricing skewed a tad high. For the three items plus drinks, I was pushing $60++. Overall, I really enjoyed Cafe Roze and was glad I finally made it in! Definitely will be back, next time to try a few of their cocktails and some lunch items!

I am slowly working my way through their menu. While everything I've tried has been tasty, there are definitely some highlights. Their seasonal Greek Signature, for example, is probably my new favorite. It's full of flavor and the perfect balance of Mediterranean ingredients. I also love their new wraps - especially the BBQ Chicken and the Chicken Caesar. Finally, this location has a FroYo machine! It's just under $5 for a generous cup of frozen yogurt, and then you can add on toppings for a small charge as well. My husband I dined in last night and decided to share some, and it was a hit!
