The table was heated + there was a heating lamp on my tootsies. So awesome. I love being warm. Especially when it is 27 degrees out today! I received Acupuncture + Moxibustion treatments. For me this was the first time to have treatments on the back side of my body. It was a whole body experience. Very calming + relaxing. Stephanie is not only the nicest person ever she truly pays attention to your needs. I was incredibly comfortable with her + she was very careful with me explaining the procedures and answering my questions. I felt a significant difference when I left the clinic and plan on going back often. New energy indeed. Make sure to drink plenty of water afterwards! Dr. Liu is gentle and explains where he's placing the needles as he goes. Part of acupuncture treatment includes the doctor leaving the office after the needles are placed for about fifteen minutes. I think that information is helpful-especially if it's your first treatment. I've actually fallen sleep during this short period of time! His office accepts insurance coverage so worth checking out if your plan covers it. Holding back a star because it's tough to schedule appointments during the week. Availability trends between 10 -4 and each treatment is about an 45 mins to an hour start to finish. There are Saturday appointments available,however, and that's what I've been taking advantage of. I used to pooh pooh chiropractors until I saw him. The very first time I saw him for back pain, he encouraged me to get an x-ray so that he could see which parts of my spine needed his work. He was spot on in his diagnosis (pre-x-ray) and I got well shortly thereafter. I see him now for knee pain and he is just as good as it gets. He has cutting edge equipment in his office (I see him in East Greenwich, but you can also see him at his newly opened office in downtown Providence) and his staff never fails to be friendly and nice. So having said how great he is at what he does, I feel compelled to add that he is also a fine man, with lots of integrity, a terrific and low-key personality, ie, if you are a talker (like moi) he can converse, with a great deal of knowledge, on virtually any topic; ( I suppose if you are not a talker he will remain on the quiet side - of course, I don't know because I am always talking!) He is always calm, and inspires confidence. There is never a rush in his office - he is not like that. He allows you to take your time, and always wants to know how you're feeling when you come in - what hurts, and where it hurts and how you feel when you leave. He also explains exactly what he is doing. He also has calming Pandora Radio playing in every room, and asks you what typeof music you'd like to hear. Before Covid, I developed this chronic itch all over my body. It affected my sleep and my overall way of life for a few years.I did see my primary and an allergist for my condition. I was told it could be stress related and was given pills for my symptoms. I then decided to see Dr. Mags at Zara Acupuncture. I have been seeing her for over a year, and I have to say, what she does, it works! Since starting with her, my symptoms have become less and less. Now, I don't remember when my last episode was. Dr. Mags is so knowledgeable, caring, and down to earth. I continue to go to her as I find that my sessions with her helps my day-to-day stuff.
