I have been coming here for more than 5 yrs. even before it's called Ocean Spa. I called 3 hrs before for an appointment, I was told by the woman that yes they can definitely see me. I live an hour away and so left early to be there on time. When I parked in front, I noticed I jaded a missed call from them and so I called back because there's no message left. When I called I was told they can't see me because they double booked! I told them I am already in front and I drove an hour just for it. I was SUSPECT walking in here today. I get massages SO OFTEN it's ridiculous. It started off not good. Pressure was NOT there. I started writing my yelp review in my head 15 minutes into a 90 minute foot massage. It was 2 stars starting off. As she started going to different parts she increased pressure some areas, decreased others and it was by far the most inconsistent, no rhyme or reason sort of fantastic massage you WOULD NEVER EXPECT. You keep your clothes on the entire time, your feet are in hot water for the first 20 minutes or so while your massaged face up. Then the feet are done WHICH WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST PART. My therapist, her name was yen, made my feet feel like they were on clouds. She is a FEET doctor. She may have said 4 words the entire time but I feel into a coma for about an hour as soon as she started on my feet. Boy! Was this a treat. The place was SPOT LESS. I was in a big room with about 5 beds but was there by myself. I heard nice music and a water fountain the entire time, no talking or anything distracting. Do yourself a favor and visit this place. When I got there I was told that I couldn't ise the gift certificate because it was expired. once I got home I did some research and found per CA law they had to honor it or give me my $$ back. When I informed the woman at the desk about this she refused. I said so you are going to keep the money and not give me my massage and she said yes and had a smirk on her face. Went here today we had 3 massages and they felt amazing. All of our masseuses were wonderful. They are even worked out a knot in my back that's been there for a while. We will be coming back again. Where do I even start. My father has pain in his calves and feet from medication he takes for a heart episode he had years ago. He gets pedis but they don't do long enough massage some times when he needs it. So I called here because online they say foot massage, cool! I'm thinking if it's just foot and calf they have maybe a chair you sit in or something. So I brought him in and I paid to get a foot massage too since i was with him. Holy hell FIRST we got brought into a really dark room with three beds next to each other. Ok fine, we can lay while we get our feet done that's fine. Then it got weird! A woman came out in just a TOWEL! Yes you read that right. And laid on the bed next to him! My dad is very conservative, he doesn't go to massage parlors or like attention drawn to him. I was mortified! The two ladies came in and put our feet in a bucket of burning ass hot water we literally had to take them out. And tell them no thanks on the soaking. Then a third woman came in and starting massaging the random lady in our room. Like really how are you able to relax with a random man and girl next to you while your butt naked. I would have lost my shit if that was me personally. Then my dad's lady put a dang towel over his head and a big blanket over his body!! And I got a little towel over my upper legs. Like why? We are fully clothed. My dad had to move the towel above his nose covering just his eyes because he couldn't breathe. We would have walked out BUT THEY CHARGE FIRST! 80$ for two feet and calve massages. We asked for 30 minutes they charged us for an hour. That was the longest hour of my life. I literally brought my dad so he could just have his feet and lower legs feel better and we ended up in some weird ass brothel!!! I seriously am still mortified today. Thankfully we had a good laugh on the car drive home. But holy hell.. be careful here, we definitely will not be back! I would like to just say Mayra, the women who massages me was AMAZING!! She's the reason I gave 3 and not 1. First off when you walk into this place is smells like sewage masked with alcohol and Lysol. Smells like a sewage pipe burst or someone took a massive poop in this place. That alone almost made me walk out!! They spray and spray like it's gonna help... it's not helping! The front desk lady was rude and short with me, asked for my name and wanted to take my temp. I pulled out my arm for her to take my temp and she pointed the damn thing right at my head! For religious and moral reasons I choose not to have any sort of gun pointed at my head. She said she had to take it from my forehead. I said my body temperature is the same all over my body. Long story short she kept me waiting because she had to get approval from "the boss" to take my temp on my arm. The entire time she ignored me before she asked me to sit. I asked her for an update and NOTHING! She finally came over and proceeded to take my temp via arm and then POINTED IT AT MY HEAD!! I literally pushed her hand away so damn fast! I'm happy with the massage I received, I tipped Mayra $25. It I don't think I'll be back because of the reception and the fact that it SMELLS SO AWFUL! Changing my review because the receptionist Decided to reach out to me and tell my it's against her human right for me to take a picture and if she had know about my views she would have taken it from my arm! I was looking for a spa with an open mind. I googled ocean spa and they had some ok reviews, when I arrived the spa did not have a spa like atmosphere. The room where I got my massage was over all clean; however the room that I was placed in was next to the main door where people come in. I could not enjoy my massage because the phone kept ringing and I could hear everyones conversation, the room that I was in didn't even have spa music. I could hear the music from the lobby which was phantom of the opera it gets better, I'm not even 20 mins into my massage and the masseuse kept coughing which made me feel a little uncomfortable and to top it off the lady FARTS while giving me a massage!!!!! It gets better the oils they use are shit because every time she used oil for my massage she had to go back and fourth to get more. When my massage was over I was relieved to leave, last but not least the lady in the front had The audacity to tell me to tip my masseuse; why would I tip someone for a crappy service? Like every recent review I am extremely disappointed with my massage. This place changed ownership and it's sucks now. I had to ask my masseuse 3 times for more pressure. Once I got there, they took me into a room and started my session. The woman gave me the best massage I've gotten in a long time, the foot rub was amazing, and my back rub was just what I need for the tension I had built up. I been coming here for over three years, it's always been good; I come here once a month; however, yesterday was by far the worse massage, not sure if this guy was new but there was no technique whatsoever, the massage technique he used was just up and down as he was washing clothes on a wash board, he didn't massage my arms n only massaged my legs from the knees down; when I turned over he didn't massage the sides of my shoulders n he never put a pillow on my head! At this point I just wanted to get out and be done; I'm very disappointed as I paid $50 dollars and $10 tip. I didn't want to make a big deal, but hopefully they give proper training to all their employees in the basics. Just went for a couples massage to celebrate Valentine's Day! Everyone was sweet and professional. I've been wanting to do this for a while now but everywhere I looked had bad reviews. We decided to give this one a try and are glad we did. They gave us our full hour and were on time for our 11am appointment. Also the prices were amazing. We paid $100 and added a $22 tip. Nice staff. Very friendly. 30 min Swedish massage lasted 30 mins. Woman very efficient. I felt more pain in areas I've never felt before, near spine and below skull. I felt the massage in general was a bit rough, maybe because not enough oil was used so it felt like skin burn at times. Usually when I get massages, I am assigned a female masseuse. This particular time I was given a male. I should've requested a female at this point but I didn't think too deeply into it. The first portion of the massage was fine, he was a little too harsh on my body and I told him to soften his hands which he did. When he turned me over I started to feel uncomfortable as he began to massage my armpits and begin to work his way down to my stomach. He was very very close to my breasts and I had to tell him that was enough in that area. I've personally never been massaged on my stomach so I don't know if this is a common thing or not. I feel like I should've told him to stop sooner, but I wasn't trying to cause a scene. Please be weary if you decide to go to this place. I feel kinda disgusted by my experience. read more

I have been going to this place for years and have always had a great experience with massages and friendliness of the staff, yet the past couple times I have gone and my massage is finished I go to pay for my massage the receptionist and the owner both question the amount of my tip on separate occasions I usually leave a $5-$7 tip depending on the situation which is 10-15%. I normally just brush off the rudeness but this last time I went the lady was actually beyond rude she said "you dont have more you need to tip $10" I said no I don't have more that is 25% that they are asking for what the heck she then said "fine go than" I have never experienced such disrespect and rudeness, a tip is decided by the customer and is not a requirement. I have had friends, family, and coworkers that I have referred to them and they have all said they do the same to them when they go. read more
