Great for toddler and pre-k ages.
    Janaia R.

PROS: -Great enclosed playground for toddlers (2-5 years)...plus, you're a two minute walk from the playgrounds at the elementary school. -BATHROOMS! I'm not talkin' port-a-potties, real bathrooms! -Well lit tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields. -A picnic and BBQ spot (that you can rent out) right next to the playground....lots of picnic tables and BBQ pit. CONS: -The playground has bark mulch...so your kids can't wear sandals otherwise the bark mulch gets into their sandals. -I live right next door to the playground, yet the shaded area by the playground seems to always be colder and windier than where I live. Come prepared and wear layers! Overall, we love this park!

    Monday men's softball league

Oh where oh where is a decent baseball/softball field locally? Groundskeeper "Steve" does a pretty great job keeping the infield in tact: dragging it, marking the foul lines before games and keeping it maintained. Since other leagues make use of this field it's hard to keep it very maintained: soccer leagues/ practice, kickball, multiple softball nights, baseball, and other uses. Monday night mens ASA leagues are fun yet competitive. One of the umpires is terrible while the person who is in charge of organizing these leagues is terrible. Some teams are "dirty' and play dirty, umpires somewhat do their jobs. Good experience to at least do once! It is hard to keep the outfield grass maintained. Many potholes found in the outfield. There is a batting cage for anyone to use. If you stay too late (when they shut off the lights) you'll find rate surfing around from one garbage can to another which can creep you out! It's a good field but not the best and one makes the best of their availability! Play ball and play hard!

IMHO it's worked best for us from ages 1-5 years, although my 6yo still enjoys time in the sandbox. There's a tot friendly slide, a couple baby swings, and a sand lot. Lots of toys - kinda like a toy graveyard. My toddler feels like she hits the jackpot when one still has working batteries and makes noise. A few old play kitchens and houses, board books, plastic trucks, baby walkers, and tricycles and balance bikes. There's benches around the perimeter for parents to watch kids. A mini picnic table for snack break. Lots of nannies bring their kids here on weekday mornings and afternoons - before and after naptime. They turned off the water fountain/ water bottle filler when COVID shut it down. Street parking. Ramp to bring in your stroller. And, bonus for me, my 2yo and 6yo can both be in the SAME park at the same time. A few things to be mindful of: the sandbox has a very small slope that leads down into it, which might surprise emerging walkers. If your kid is like mine and oblivious to folks on the swing, they might get whacked by a swinging person. And sometimes the slide is a bit too fast. My other kid with a big head and dense build rockets off of it like she's on a water slide. But other than that, myself and some other parents can zone out a little, get a slight mental break, or chat with other parents in a tot lot that it's mostly safe.

It's a nice new playground, with interesting play structures and a nice cushioned ground. Clean bathrooms, water fountains. Unfortunately no shade in the late morning, which is our usual playground time. It looks like they've planted some trees so eventually that will change. Part of the playground is enclosed by a fence, I guess for the smaller kids. But my kids wanted to play in both areas and i found the fence annoying because the gate is on the side farthest from the unfenced section. (I would be in the fenced area with one kid and the other one would want help so I'd have to walk all the way around.) Obviously not a huge deal, but when I'm evaluating playgrounds I certainly think of parental comfort, and how easy it is to park myself in one spot and be able to see everything. Yes it's next to the highway, and there's plenty of traffic noise. But there wasn't any smell or fumes when we were there. We'll certainly continue to come here, most likely on the way to/from Target.

The lady ignored us and continued to fetch with her dogs. The other parent says a lot of neighborhood folks uses the toddler park as a dog park and sometimes she gets scared and won't bring the baby when she sees too many dogs. Come on, there is Point Isabel Dog Park less than 5 min away and Buchanan dog park also less than 5 min away. Please bring your dogs to a dog park and to not a clean children's park! Who do I talk to about this?
