This dental office attempted to overcharge for unnecessary treatment and later violated HIPAA…read morecompliance by losing all of my patient records, including my full mouth X ray. I visited this office once in 2024 for an emergency wisdom tooth extraction because they were open on Saturday. They did a full mouth X Ray and recommended an expensive deep gum cleaning, even though I have maintained consistent dental hygiene, never had gum issue prior and the dentist I saw afterward with multiple exams every six months after confirmed I did not need a deep cleaning. Recently, I contacted the office because my insurance only allows one full mouth X ray every five years, and I needed my X rays sent to my new dentist. The employee informed me they had a catastrophe and lost all of my patient records due to a hard drive. He suggested that I come in during my work hours to talk to the owner/dentist about redoing the X ray. I had to explain that requesting my X rays was his responsibility as an employee of the dental office and call me back if they approved as to not waste a trip. He reluctantly agreed to ask, but I never received a call back. I am HIPAA certified and a Network Engineer, previous ABR/Ceridian HIPPAA Admin in the 90s when it was first implemented. When I asked whether they had a backup protocol, it became clear they did not, which is a direct violation of HIPAA's Security Rule. The employee then told me this was not a HIPAA violation because it was not hacked or exposed information which is completely incorrect. Under HIPAA, the exact rules violated include physical security, data retention and patient access: 45 CFR 164.308(a)(1)(ii)(A)-(B) Security Rule: failure to conduct risk analysis and risk management 45 CFR 164.310(d)(2)(i)-(ii) Physical safeguards: improper device and media controls 45 CFR 164.312(a)(2)(iv) Technical safeguards: failure to encrypt ePHI 45 CFR 164.402 Breach Notification Rule: loss of PHI is a breach 45 CFR 164.404 and 164.408 Required notifications to patients and the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (HHS OCR) This type of breach is also reportable to the Florida Attorney General's Office, which oversees consumer protection and medical privacy violations at the state level. Losing a patient records due to local data loss is a reportable HIPAA breach, and patients deserve accurate information, proper safeguards, and honest communication without gaslighting. My experience, from the unnecessary expensive treatment recommendation to the refusal to accommodate the X rays redone, the mishandling of my records, and the misinformation about HIPAA, was extremely disappointing.

I was very impressed with Mosaic. As soon as you walk in the door the lady at the front desk…read more(Cheyanne), greeted me. Even though she was very busy checking people in she still acknowledged those of us walking in. I felt bad for her having about 4 of us to check In and several other ladies were standing around not helping. Cheyanne did't get overwhelmed with those of us standing in line to get checked in....I will say the only reason I notice these things is because I ran an office for several years, so I notice everything. The assistants Sydney and Maria were the BEST. I have high anxiety anytime having dental work and they put me at ease. I could not of had better assistants. They have great personalities, very personable, and upbeat. Dr Mehta did a great job with me. He has good bedside manners. He genuinely cares for his patients. He took his time with me on my consultation not trying to rush to get to the next patient. He is very patience. He is a very likable Dr. My procedure went well. I had no problems or complaints. The office is nice and clean. I have OCD and am a germaphobe, so I always check out cleanliness. Maria checked me out she was very friendly and keeps a smile. I can say this is a great place to go if you need teeth pulled or any other kind of work. I am impressed with the whole process from walking in the door until the end of service. I am terrified of dentist, so for me to get great treatment pain free this is my speciality dentists.

The staff was amazing. They educate you through the entire experience. They kept my son…read morecomfortable. There are things that aren't covered by your insurance that are comfort measures so your budget will determine that for you. Wisdom teeth removal 10/10
