They have new owners who are super friendly and welcoming! We had a group of 8 about 35 minutes before closing. We were never rushed, given extra samples, and had an absolutely lovely time sitting there chatting with the new owner! I think a few girls bought bottles. Definitely stop by! I am amazed by the high rating and nice reviews for this "winery". Not at all our experience. We arrived and were told to be seated and we'd be served restaurant style. This was outdoors. It was a cool day and we asked if there was indoor seating. The unfriendly worker (only worker there) took us in to what could be described as a small shed with 60s style wood paneling. Ugly and tacky. He brought our samples in from outdoors and one person in the party got someone else's choices. Samples were served half in glass glasses and half in plastic glasses. Tacky! Again the server not very friendly. Wines were decent but over priced. Cannot recommend. read more

On our way home we decided to give this place a try. A small little vineyard that is very cute and personable. The service was great, and the wine was surprisingly delicious. Good enough that I wound up buying a couple bottles for home. When you go inside to purchase a bottle you realize that many of their wines have actually won some national awards. After living here for over 3 years I've never heard anyone talk about this place, but I'm here to say that it's definitely worth the visit if you like quality wine. read more

I recently went to a Oceana Winery & Vineyard for my bachelorette party and it was the perfect location. The owner opened up after hours to allow us to have more of a private event. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the wines and was willing to talk to us about the process. The Pinot noir was my absolute favorite. I did love the Chardonnay, which surprised me since I tend to lean towards red wines. I would highly recommend trying their flight prior to ordering and figuring out your favorite wine and getting a sample of what they have to offer. One of my favorite parts of this winery was the outdoor patio! I know the picture doesn't do it justice but it was beautiful and lots of seating options around the trees with string lights! Perfect spot for photos one the sun sets and you overlook the vineyard! I highly recommend stopping here! read more

We had a wonderful time here. It's a beautiful, small winery. Rolling up the gravel driveway you see the grape vines. The tasting room has a small bar area and other tables and seats both inside and outside. The lady helping us was very friendly and knowledgeable. And we loved the wine. I was really impressed with the quality of wines. I bought five bottles to take home and will enjoy them for as long as I can make them last. If you enjoy wine you really should stop by and visit! read more

The people running this winery are knowledgeable, interesting, and patient. They stayed open just a little bit longer to accommodate us and we were overwhelmed by the quality of the wine. I wish I had taken pictures of the place because the vineyard was incredible and the tasting area outside was very nice as well. We had a delightful time at this winery. This was the second trip on a 3 winery tour that my family decided to do. What struck us the most about this winery was the beautiful scenery. Upon entering the tasting room, we noticed a small room with a very attentive staff. We opted to try a few of their wines and their sherry. The wines were rich and tasty. Although it was summer, I can only imagine that their red wines are just the right way to stay warm in the winter. We had fun chatting with the staff and learning a bit about the winery. We opted to take some photos outside and were told about how they have special dining events during the warm season. These events sounded really fun with wine, food, and live music. I don't know that we will ever be back in this area, but if we are, I would definitely like to try out one of these events! read more

I found this winery by driving by their sign which said, "WINERY." I didn't know that Michigan was a wine-producing state, but I guess they have an up-and-coming viticulture movement, and Oceana (formerly Tartan Hill) is part of that. Despite pulling up the driveway several minutes after they had closed, the owners graciously opened up their tasting room and let me have a full experience. They were extremely polite and friendly, and went out of their way to help. Also, their wines were great! I ended up buying a bottle of Semi-Sweet Vignoles (which was really interesting, almost tasted a bit like bell peppers) and Cabernet Franc. All of the wine here was very affordable, priced from around $9-22. I liked it all, and would definitely seek it out in shops! But if you are in the area I definitely recommend stopping by the winery for a tour and tasting. read more

First time at oceana winery. The wine is very good, but if your going wine tasting and happen to find yourself at this winery do not expect a pleasant experience. We arrived, were told to be seated and don't mind the dirty table it would soon be cleaned which it never was so sitting ,waiting, amongst many tables piled high with dirty glasses we waited to be served which didnt happen watched people before us getting served and so we approached the bar with wine order to be greeted with a wtf look from who I found out latter was the owners son who instead of helping with the cleaning and serving was visiting and drinking . We were told to have a seat and order would be brought to table when it finally arrived the plastic cups the wine came in had maybe 2 tablespoon of wine each tasting. 10 dollars for 5 tastings. Worst experience of the day. Last winery we visited today. Would highly recommend any other winery in area over this place. read more

We stopped by this winery on a weekend getaway with my sisters. The 5 of us enjoy wine tasting paired with plenty of laughter. First of all the grounds itself were beautiful. You drive through some of the vineyard as you approach the wine tasting room. Although the actual wine tasting room was small, the owner, Greg, made us feel welcome. He spent plenty of time with us (3 hours) and talked to us about everything wine. He patiently answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable in his craft. He shared several recipes and tastes that would go well with each wine. The time he spent with us was amazing and the wine was great. There wasn't one that I didn't enjoy. Each variation was tasty in its own way. Even though I don't really care for dry wines most of the time, these were wonderful and I even bought my first bottle of a dry wine!
