Fox & Hen Winery is decent, but not impressive…read more Got the vibe this is more for the locals than the vacationers, which makes sense, but because of that the service seemed a bit like we should already know how it works when it comes to seating and ordering, which we didn't. All the wines we tried were decent/fairly solid, but nothing memorable enough to purchase several. We racked our brains and purchased the Farm Party, which surprised me since I love Riesling and Rosé, theirs is ok at best. The strawberry and blackberry ciders were subtle and natural tasting. After buying a couple cans of them, the ingredient label disappointed me. Their experimental cider (chocolate cherry) tasted like neither of those flavors, gave it to my husband to finish, as it was the only beverage I found bordering on unpalatable. Charcuterie was overpriced. While I enjoyed the low key atmosphere, and they are kinda the only winery in the area, I would probably not return to Fox & Hen.

I'm not a huge Michigan wine person (it's typically a bit too sweet for me) but I still quite enjoyed the experience. There is ample parking and even though it's on a busy road, the road noise wasn't overly distracting from the experience. I'll definitely come again and hang out if I'm up that way!
