A friend who recently had twins recommended her to me and praised the quality of care she received from Ana. That friend also shared how invaluable having Ana as a doula was to a first time mom and mentioned how much she learned from her. Unfortunately, our timelines didn't align on night time support, but I'm glad she was available to assist me at birth. When I first met Ana, I was blown away by how comfortable she made me feel. I didn't know much about doula services, but she was able to explain her role in my birth and it made me feel more at ease with delivering a child. At our meeting, we went over my birth plan in detail, specific exercises / stretches for a natural birth, and she patiently answered my long list of questions. After the meeting, she also made sure to stay in constant contact and send me helpful materials. When it came time for me to deliver, Ana was my biggest advocate. I had a less than ideal birth experience and I was so fortunate that Ana was there to communicate to the nurses and midwives, and to reiterate my birth plan to make sure it was being respected and followed. Ana is probably the reason why I didn't deliver in a tiny triage room! I also decided to not get an epidural and Ana made me feel supported every step of the way. She knew exactly what to do to help minimize the pain or at least distract me from it. During active labor, she continued to guide me until my baby was delivered healthily and safely. After, she stayed to make sure that I was okay before she left us to bond with our baby. Working with doulas has been the best decision during pregnancy / birth and postpartum, and getting the chance to work with Ana was a joy! Ana really focuses on making sure the mommy to be is heard, comfortable and empowered throughout the time she works with someone. Our family can't recommend her enough as she played a pivotal role in welcoming our baby to this world.

I couldn't have been happier to receive this referral after working with Ana. Our work together started with an initial zoom call to see if we would be a good match. From the first meeting, I felt very welcomed by Ana. She was very professional and answered every question we had. I really appreciated the timeline and contents of each meeting. Ana was very clear during our meetings and always made herself available to us via text. The meetings were a combination of zoom calls, phone calls, and an in person visit before the birth and one postpartum. She was very knowledgeable not only about birth itself, but also about how to advocate for moms during labor at the hospital. I'm not the fondest of the hospital setting, and Ana did a fantastic job at making me feel safe and respected at the hospital. I really couldn't thank her more for this. As someone who was skeptical about even getting a birth doula in the first place, I couldn't recommend Ana more.

We quickly set up time for a FaceTime call and an in person meeting ... she seemed to be a great fit but we weren't sure if we wanted to hire a doula this late in the game but was always something we thought about. After getting to Know Bridget a little bit more we felt that she may be the missing piece that would help us feel at ease going into labor... And she definitely was ! Bridget is an absolute gem of a human, she is professional, punctual, approachable, funny, caring, genuinely interested and very knowledgeable. She worked with us only a few weeks but eased my nerves and anxieties from the days leading up to labor, the days in the hospital and even the days afterwards as she checked in on us. If you are in the Bay Area and you are thinking about getting a doula - there is no one better ! She was flexible, understanding and available when we needed her In the labor room - she was a rock star, helping me breathe through all of the pain and uneasiness ... trying different positions, setting up my room with lights and candles and essential oils --- she brought her whole bag of equipment, tricks and knowledge into that room To ensure an amazing experience for me and my birth team. She helped us navigate through difficult decisions, empowered us to ask the right questions and encouraged us with no judgement Without a doubt one of the best decisions we made for our birth - and truly a main reason I can look back and love my birth experience

I was honestly pretty anxious going into it because we didn't have the opportunity to interview or even speak with her beforehand, and we were simply going off her profile that was shared with us. But from the moment she arrived, she immediately put us at ease. She was with us for those first few nights home from the hospital, when I was exhausted, emotional, and very newly postpartum. She had such a warm, gentle, and calming presence, and having her there made those overwhelming first nights feel so much more manageable. She was incredibly sweet and attentive with our baby, but she was equally caring toward me, always checking in and offering thoughtful tips for both newborn care and taking care of myself during recovery. She helped with feeds, baby laundry, and washing and assembling bottles and pump parts, and was always punctual, dependable, and proactive. Most importantly, we felt completely comfortable having her care for our brand new baby during such a vulnerable time. Our only regret is that we didn't find her sooner! Because everything came together so last minute, she was only available to be with us for a few nights, and we absolutely would have loved to have had her for longer. We're so grateful she was there when we needed her and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for a kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring postpartum doula. Thanks Marilou and Doulas by the Bay!

We were lucky enough to have her for 3 nights a week, for 12 weeks. The first thing I noticed about her was how she behaved when she met our son. This was our first night home from the hospital and we were exhausted, overwhelmed and nervous. She picked him up and just stared into his eyes. She immediately connected with him and he immediately felt safe with her. As a new mom, I learned something from this interaction alone. From there, America helped us in key, specific ways that empowered us and gave us confidence. She helped me with feeding - how to read his cues, pumping best practices, what to worry about and what not to. She helped us establish a daytime routine that could set us up for more restful nights. And she helped us create consistency and a soothing environment to promote sleep. At 12 weeks, our son was sleeping soundly from 8pm - 6:30am. She was also incredibly respectful in our home and always on time. I can't reiterate it enough: Having America was the most pivotal investment we made in our baby and our family's wellbeing. She has three kids of her own and has been working as a night doula for 12 years. She's able to commute almost places in the Bay Area. She also is eligible for Carrot reimbursement if you or your spouse's employer offers that benefit.

Once I met America, I instantly felt comfortable around her and knew she would be a great fit for our family. I ended up having some blood pressure issues and was induced early. Shortly after birth, our baby stopped breathing and was diagnosed with a severe grade 4 brain bleed. It was incredibly tough not knowing when we'd get to bring our boy home, but America continued to reach out and check-in. After a 2 week NICU stay, we finally got to bring our baby home. Leading up to discharge we had many meetings with doctors and specialists about our son's conditions and potential limitations and we were exhausted and overwhelmed. When America came to our house our first night home with him, she picked up my son and looked at him like he was the most precious thing and it made me feel like everything was going to be okay. Right away America helped us establish a feeding and sleeping routine that worked for us. Our baby quickly started gaining weight and we started feeling more confident. Unfortunately we got tough news that he'd need to have surgery at only a month old. America rearranged her schedule to be with us the night before he went into surgery and the night we returned from the hospital. Even my husband who was initially a little skeptical about hiring a postpartum doula, said it was the best investment we could've made for our own health and for our son. Overall, I can't recommend America enough! She is professional, always on time, and most importantly she offers kindness, caring and love when moms and babies need it the most!

She was there the first night we got back from the hospital, and was such a calm, steady presence for us as first time parents. She did everything you could think of from, taking care of the baby through the night and allowing my wife to fully heal from the birth, to doing our laundry, washing bottle parts, and even cooking us amazing food!! I cant forget to mention the massages for my wife, which she loved so much. Our baby was sleeping through the night by the end of our time with Rauzana. I think the best part about Rauzana is that she actually cares about your baby and treats them like a grandchild. She would text us everyday that she wasnt with us and ask us how she was doing, you could tell that she genuinely cared about us and the baby. She truly felt like she was part of our family and on our team for everything. We love her so much! She also never took a sick day and would show up 15 minutes early than her shift every time! Make sure you book her early because she is always booked!! There I was at a point where I was literally waiting at the door for her at 9:45pm every night, because we were so excited that she was here. Thank you Rauzana so much everything!!!

This is where Rauzana made an incredible difference during those first few weeks postpartum. Looking back, we genuinely don't know how we would have navigated those early days without her. The night we came home from the hospital, we were completely exhausted and overwhelmed. Knowing Rauzana was there to care for our girl brought us an immense sense of comfort and relief. She came highly recommended by a close friend of ours. Every time Rauzana sees our daughter, her face lights up. You can immediately feel how genuine her love and passion for caring for babies is. But what makes Rauzana truly special is that she doesn't just care for the baby....she cares for the recovery of the mother as well. During such a vulnerable and emotional time, she was incredibly empathetic and supportive. She would even give me massages whenever I needed one. Rauzana also helped with everyday tasks like doing laundry and washing the dishes, small things that made a huge difference when we were running on very little sleep. She has also been incredibly flexible with her hours, always adjusting her start and end times to accommodate our schedule and plans. Rauzana is part of such a meaningful chapter in our lives, and she made a lasting impact. We will always be grateful for the care and support she gave us!
