For anyone reading, please don't let an experience like this discourage your personal relationship with God. I was looking forward to attending a women's retreat and connecting with a new community during a challenging time in my life. Unfortunately, my experience trying to sign up was disappointing and left me feeling discouraged. I was told (by Nicole) I needed to attend a Sunday service before receiving the retreat signup link, which felt more like a barrier than an invitation. While I understand churches have processes, the way the conversation was handled left me feeling overwhelmed, uncomfortable, and unwelcome especially after I had openly shared that I was going through a lot. I shared with Nicole how I was feeling in the moment, but didn't receive any follow up or encouragement afterward. I personally host women's events, and I would NEVER interact with someone this way, especially when they are coming in vulnerable and seeking community. My hope is that churches remember how important it is to lead with warmth and compassion, especially when someone is reaching out in need. I'm grateful my faith is strong, but I can imagine how an experience like this could impact someone who is new or searching. I've prayed about sharing this and ultimately chose to speak up, not to tear anyone down, but to advocate for myself and for others who may be seeking support and community. read more

I've attended OCF for years, and I love it. The sermons and teachings are Biblically based. The people are friendly and welcoming.

I had a supernatural encounter with God in my room and got saved on August 26, 2025. I started going to this church right after. I heard people saying it took them a year or 15 churches to find their church and I was like I don't want that to happen! I had already tried two other churches and done a lot of research in my area, but it wasn't until I prayed to God one night to reveal my church because I didn't wanna wait that long, and the next Google search, this one came up at the top! One that hadn't popped up in my searches prior. Upon hearing Pastor Brandon, preach, I was blown away. I felt like I was getting a master class in theology. Turns out later I found out that he actually teaches at Biola or Talbot university, which are Christian colleges! I went to a women's fellowship gathering right after and was so welcomed by everyone. I saw comments of people saying that they felt excluded, and that's maybe possible in their experience if they also didn't try and say hi. At church, if you are newer, you don't know everyone there yet. Just like me, I don't know everyone yet. I'm barely learning a handful each week. But I made sure to introduce myself to as many people as possible and just say hey, I'm new here! And everyone was so excited to hear that I just got saved and to hear part of my testimony. I am a dark-skinned Hispanic woman also and have not felt any prejudice at all. I've also listened to sermons there where they absolutely emphasize that as a follower of Christ, it does not matter your ethnicity or where you are from; we are all children of God and united in the body of Christ. I quickly joined two Bible studies which I'm in right now and attending church every week. One Bible study is on Ephesians and another one is a discipleship Bible study. I'm already getting baptized on November 2! I will be joining the worship ministry team and the deliverance ministry team as well. All the classes have been very organized and I just really feel at home at my church. I even love hanging out before and after services and just seeing who's around and saying hi! I wanted to go somewhere where the Holy Spirit feels alive and where I'm learning so much, and I really am here. I am so grateful God led me here. The people were friendly and welcoming. If you have kids this is probably the place for you. They have a great children's classes at both of their Sunday services. The kids seem to be excited to be there. They have a big high school group and middle school group as well. There is a young adult group with lots of people and activities. They have Bible studies, women's actives and men's group as well. I was surprised to see a diverse ethnic group of people, a few other reviews said they weren't. read more

I attended the church for the first time today and i was disappointed only one woman made me feel comfortable and I appreciate for that aside that other people acted strange to me. Seem like they are all grouped together and new members are not welcomed. They are all white and I am black they weren't friendly to me. Don't be deceived by ratings!!! read more

*Very Honest Review* I am very surprised at how many five star ratings this church has received. And I am assuming that it is coming from one specific group of people. Actually, when I scroll to read who the reviews are coming from... You'll see what I mean in a second. If you are looking for a diverse church, THIS ISN'T IT! This church is not diverse. At all. The church is largely white with a sprinkle of pepper (minorities). And on top of that the people are not so welcoming. I probably had one family greet me and made me feel welcomed and everyone else just kind of "did church." You can CLEARLY tell and feel that the church is definitely more comfortable being a mostly white church. (Or at least is appears that way to me). I visited a Friday event, a back yard BBQ for young adults. Not only was I the only black woman there but someone people stared at me for a while to almost remind me that I WAS the only back person there. There are no consistent small groups or hangouts for young singles. So if your looking for a church that offers that, keep looking. OCF isn't it. And for me, only one out of the four pastors who speak is really good. ( In my opinion). In conclusion, I'd suggest this church to all of my conservative, white and (old and young) evangelical friends. I met two other girls, both who are Latino, who've attended this church for years tell me (without me telling them what I was sensing) that they experience that a few times at this church. So, for all of my minorities search for a better, well rounded community. This isn't it. But try it out for yourself. You may like it. read more

Great Church. Their worship service is contemporary/traditional. They use a band, but have recently assembled a choir for one Sunday of each month. They have recently added a Sunday night service. The attendance for Sunday p.m. is slim, but child care is provided and Maria the taco lady is there in case you didn't have dinner before the service. They have a wide variety of ministries and are governed by an elder board in stead of an "all knowing" head pastor type. The people are very friendly and the preaching is top notch. read more

I love this church. My husband and I found OCF shortly after we got engaged. We were young and wanted to find a new home church that had like-minded, kind people with plenty of opportunities for growth. We also wanted a place that was family friendly for the day we had kids. We found it here. On our first day we were greeted with a warm hello from Denny O'Keefe. We never felt any sort of pressure to join groups or spill our life story. We did so on our own time. We went on to attend pre-marital counseling (AWESOME) and were even married by Pastor Brandon. Joining a small group was another great experience. Highly recommend that, especially when you're starting out. In my opinion the church also has a healthy amount of diversity. But to be honest, church shouldn't be about race and we shouldn't pick at superficial differences. It's about what we have in common - our faith and love for Jesus! read more

This church immediately makes you feel at home. The congregation is fabulous, the music is great too. The pastors rotate, some are better at teaching than others. However, they all provide applicable teaching to the bible which leaves you inspired, or with food for growth in your spiritual walk. read more

I have been attending OCF since i was 5 years old and have not left yet. I guess that says something about the church and its people. As a young adult in my mid 20's i love OCF even more now then i did as a child. The friends and mentors i have made over the last 6 years has been the biggest reason why i don't need to go "find God" anywhere else. I see Christ in the people of his church by how they love others, react to situations, praise him in worship, rejoice in the midst of a storm and give more to its ministries and communities with no questions asked and i see that ALL in my friends and family at OCF church. I decided to find a new church & googled churches near my home. I found OCF & attended a service the very next Sunday. The Worship teams are amazing and each pastor/elder has a different style. OCF has been such a blessing in my life with Biblical teaching, plurality of leadership, and wonderful, friendly people. There are plenty of ways to get involved which allow me to learn more about the Bible and meet other fellow Christians. We also have many mission opportunities. If there's one thing you'll hear again and again at OCF, it's that the church is a family. And they definitely live that out! My wife and I started coming a few months ago and were immediately welcomed in by people of all ages. From the older couple doing our pre-marital counseling, to the twenty-somethings at the Sunday night service, to the high school students in the youth group, we felt like we gained a whole new extended family of brothers, sisters, moms, dads, and grandparents in Christ. No church is perfect, but this one really loves Jesus, each other, and new faces (although no one feels "new" for very long). read more
