While the bookshop isn't huge, they have a good collection. We did manage to find a few to buy before leaving. And, their prices are reasonable. We really enjoyed the coffee shop. The coffee was good (I had an Americano). They also have a nice selection of pastries, and they have some that are both gluten and dairy free. That was a real plus. If we lived in the area, which we don't (we went up to see Taliesin), I would frequent Arcadia Books.

You can read the book to your hearts content and bring it back for a credit toward a different book. How awesome is that? Also, there is a puzzle exchange at the back. I got two books to help me learn Spanish (a pandemic project of mine that is ongoing) for $7. Did I mention how much I love this bookstore?

Located in a tiny outpost on the Mississippi on the Wisconsin/Iowa border, a sweet little picturesque town of maybe 1,000 people. But this store would be a find in any big city with a reputation for having lots of book lovers. History - American, Iowan, Native American, wars, rare medical texts - literature, from Steven King to Basho's poetry. Kids' books of all kinds. Poetry, fiction, theology and religion. It was incredible to find something of this quality here. I bought a two volume set of Lincoln's speeches and writings, but if I lived in the area, this would become a favorite and frequent haunt. The owner was courteous and knowledgeable, too - a former airline pilot, if I recall, and he has wonderful taste. If you're a bibliophile who lives in or is passing through the area, it's worth a detour.
