The best part of the area to visit is to walk down cross sandy ditch towards the rock if you can reach it. On the far side of the rock you can see some seal take refuge there. They are stretching out their body for sun tan. It is to see what they doing on the rock. The most interesting of the park is walk on the rock and see the trap water that have sea life in it. This happens on the low tide and all this shallow sea life still attach to the rock. Some of them just move in to the trap pool of the rock. We saw a lot of green anemones and star fish. The come in different shape and color. I like to touch the tentacles of the anemone. They are suck to finger. Some of the sea crab trap in it and become their meal.

We took a nice little swim in the lake which was the perfect temperature. The gentleman who owns this place is friendly and professional, i felt welcome and at ease while interacting with him. I met a dog and a cat. The cat was perfect in every way- mysterious yet friendly, unafraid and unconcerned. The dog was a VERY good dog who accompanied us to the lake and hung out on the shore and guarded our shoes. This dog demonstrated extraordinary restraint by not stealing our shoes EVEN THOUGH both my partner and i threw our shoes onto the shore. Any dog would be extraordinarily tempted to play fetch with those shoes and yet this dog did not. Extraordinary. Also, the view from our room was magnificent. If you are fortunate enough to be looking for a lake view retreat, you should probably stay here. I will definitely be coming back and I will be staying for much longer

Do you enjoy dipping your feet into cold water on a hot summer day? Or how about swimming among giant redwood trees? If any of this sounds appealing you need to visit Sweet Creek Falls. We came in the middle of summer and it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon hiking, meditating, and swimming. There are 11 waterfalls ranging in size and close to 2.5 miles all together of shaded trails to explore, rustic bridges included. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Oregon last summer. Know before you go: Parking lots at each trailhead. Super stinky bathroom located only at Homestead Trailhead. Dog friendly. And most importantly FREE! *Don't be surprised to see topless women swimming. We all have breasts and it's a beautiful thing to be free especially in a place like this. If this bothers you just look away. *Don't use Yelp directions as they'll take you to the wrong place. Use Google instead. I've reported this several times but like nearly everything I report Yelp ignores it. And Happy Earth Day! If you haven't discovered what nature can do for your soul I highly recommend getting away from the daily grind, turning your phone off, and just enjoying what places like this can do for you. It's truly magical.

There are so many photo opportunities. Many different bridges along the trail allow you to walk over the water. There is a part of the trail where you have to walk through a small stream. I wasn't wearing the proper gear and didn't want wet shoes and socks, so we headed back at that point and headed towards the upper parking lot. The upper trail still had snow on the ground, and the parking area was pretty soggy. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We would love to come back again during a drier season. There's…read morea Visitors Center with restrooms, a museum, informational videos and friendly employees to answer questions. They have a large parking lot available for visitors. At the top of the hill is the Cape Perpetua Overlook day use area. It costs $5, and there's plenty of parking and a vault toilet. There's also a map of the trails by the pay station. The views from up there are amazing! The trails are well maintained. Don't forget to check out the cool West Shelter observation point! On the other side of highway 101 is a trail to Devils Churn, Cook's Chasm, and Spouting Horn. All must-sees! The dramatic views change depending on high and low tides. We always make a point to stop here while visiting the area, any time of year. It never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Until we saw a lighthouse from a distance and decided to check it out. We took a turn and saw lots of cars parked near the bridge where we were at. From the parking lot, we were greeted by an amazing view of the beach and a lovely structure perched on top of a hill. We found out that this structure used to be the lighthouse keeper's house which is now into converted into a bed and breakfast. Unfortunately, the lighthouse is nowhere to be seen. We were told that we needed to hike up a half mile to reach it. As I have mentioned earlier, it was starting to get dark so we ditched the idea. I hope someday, I'll be able to go back to stay in this B&B and hike up to the lighthouse.

I am on a 5 week road trip/camping trip with my kids and we have been camping all over the PNW and CA. This has been my favorite stop of the trip and had I known it was going to be this magical, I would've booked a week instead of 3 days. The check in process was amazing. They give you the code and you go to your Yurt which is away from everyone else at the campground. You have your own little dock, backyard, outdoor cooking area, sunroom with a shower, and the Yurt itself is like a home/suite-like hotel room but in a Yurt. After a long day of driving, being able to just go to your room and walk right in, especially with young kids in the car, is such an added bonus. I've literally felt like I've had the place to myself these last few days and it's heavenly. Being away from it all means my kids aren't bothering anyone when they're out playing at 6:00 in the morning, and we've been sleeping like logs by 9:00 because it's so quiet --aside from the relaxing sound of water and birds. I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite place. It's so much better than the website depicts and I am absolutely staying here again. I imagine this place books up rather quickly. I got lucky and booked it 7 months ago with no problems. You can kayak (included) to Siltcoos lake OR the ocean. The added gate to keep kids in and away from the dock is such a thoughtful touch and kept my anxiety at bay knowing my twins wouldn't wander off.

In one particular spot where the tide rushes in between two rock walls, I lost count at 12 all in a row!! And tons and tons of anemones too! The tide pools here are just incredible!! Bob Creek Wayside is one of four little beach pull offs inside the Neptune State Scenic Area along the 101 in Oregon's central coast. The beach is very small at low tide, and to get to it you have to navigate a large field full of small-to-large pebbles/rocks and large pieces of driftwood. At high tide I'm sure the beach disappears. But low tide is the best time here anyway bc the tide pools are what you want to see! Once you get past the rock field, off to the right you'll find Bob Creek rushing fast down from the cliffs and into the ocean. There are some tide pools around here but they're small and very slippery so be careful! And to the left you'll find a small waterfall flowing into another small creek leading to a maze of rock walls where you'll find the countless starfish and tide pools full of anemones, snails, and tons of other creatures. It's very rocky and can be slippery. And even at low tide, small waves are coming in and out - so I highly recommend decent, sturdy water shoes and roll your pant legs up if you want to find all the starfish. I got wet up to my knees at one point. At this pull off, there's a small to medium sized paved parking lot and information signs. There are a few picnic tables and benches. There are no bathrooms here - but lots of bathrooms very nearby at all the other stops and pull offs. The parking lot is handicap accessible- but not the beach or tide pools. The picnic tables and benches are in the grass just next to the parking lot.

We were there a few hours before low tide, but there was still great tide pool viewing. We saw several anemones, a few orange starfish, a red rock crab, hermit crabs, and snails. Most of the rocks were dry and not slippery, but we were very cautious and did not go near the edge. The right side of the beach is where Bob Creek runs down onto the shore. There were several other people there viewing the wildlife, but there was plenty of parking. While we were there, we saw a sea lion come onto the shore. Unfortunately, he was skinny, and his ribs were visible. I reported seeing him to the wildlife rescue, I hope that they were able to help him. Rating from F to A+++, I give it an A+++.
