Stayed here as a rest stop on a road trip during our leg from Jackson Hole, Wyoming to Kalispel, Montana. Unfortunately, someone in our party had their flight delayed multiple times. I called the Inn to let them know and they were more than understanding, saying that their restaurant would still be open by the time of our arrival and that they would have a glass of wine waiting for us upon our arrival. We did not arrive until 10:00 PM and received a warm greeting and as promised, the bartender was ready to pour us a glass of wine. We were able to sip it on the lovely outdoor eating area and fall asleep on the most comfortable bedding. Seriously, the beds here are magic. Rooms are very small and do not have A/C. Simply opening the window will suffice to bring in some cool air. Each wing has a communal bathroom. Bathrooms have all amenities needed moreover; each room has a cute bag of travel toiletries per bed. The building itself is both charming and formidable. While I see its potential, it is lacking in some upkeep and restoration. This the only downside. Something to note, there is a train that passes quite frequently and can be heard during all hours. This did not phase me in the slightest because of the wine. My favorite part by far was breathing in the fresh air and exploring the grounds in the early morning. The sky was beautiful and I managed to get in some pretty special photographs. It seriously put a smile on my face to see pigs roaming around and chickens out being chickens... With that being said, I would definitely stay here again should I find myself in the area. read more

The Mrs. and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Maison that was reminiscent of our dining experiences in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles. Mind blowing flavor and service. All staff we're wearing masks, were courteous and friendly. We did the wine pairing along with the coursed meal - I highly recommend this route. Exceptional! From the moment we checked in, the owner Paul was an absolutely fantastic host, he and Jared have created a truly brilliant concept here at the inn and farm. The breathtaking Montana expanse is a perfect backdrop for this gorgeous historical home. we've found a little slice of southern France minutes from downtown Helena complete with the "je ne sais quoi" that only comes from the passionate owners and chef. The farm itself is a working 42 acre farm with all kinds of adorable animals, complete with Toulouse the elderly, yet endearing farm cat with whom I shared many a fabulous meal with. The main home is beautifully and lovingly restored. A must see for any lover of historical architecture! However, we opted for a more adventurous lodging option; and stayed in the charming off-grid Tiny House. Not only is it very "Instagramable" but the attention to detail and efforts that go into creating an eco-sustainable option do not fall flat! I hope to be back very soon! Which brings me to the food, what can I say other than, exceptional. The chef, (straight from France) delivered what could only ever be executed by a French master. The farm to table ingredients emphasized the classic technique and creativity in the best way possible. The generosity of the owners and kindness of the staff was simply icing on the perfectly French cake. A must-stop for anyone visiting Montana. read more

This was our first dining out experience since COVID. I called ahead to see what their protocol was and was pleasantly surprised that a private dining room was available for 2. They are truly doing everything to keep people safe! Our dinner was... exceptional! Started with the complimentary "hard boiled duck eggs"... amazing! My husband doesn't like hard boiled eggs at all and loved these! (They raise ducks so we purchased a Dozen to take home!) Their sommelier, Sy, was very knowledgeable and helped us choose the perfect wine to go with both our Beef Wellington and Winter Squash entrees. We also had the Escargot for an appetizer and it didn't disappoint at all! We had the Almond and Candy Bar desserts with coffee to round out a perfect meal. The customer service was excellent! Our private dining with low Sinatra/Nat King Cole music made the evening unforgettable! Thank you Paul and staff for a great dining experience. We will definitely be going back! read more

this was easily one of the worst hotel experiences i've ever had. first, no one answered the phone when i called with questions - three times, no answer. then i arrived - i had to walk through the restaurant and a (seemingly random) server offered to show me to my room. no receipt, no confirmation, no welcome drink (as advertised). my room had no bathroom (this was not disclosed on the listing) - instead had a community bathroom. again, not disclosed. i was then not given a key to my room. i decided to risk it & shower, while waiting for my key to arrive. it just didn't. i eventually had to go find someone in the restaurant who asked if i could wait another half hour, which i couldnt, as i needed to grab dinner. he begrudingly got me a key and i left. the room itself was so small i couldn't open my suitcase (carry on size) anywhere except blocking the door, as a fire hazard. the room also smelled like urine. it was not air conditioned, and a fan was not provided. i would have loved to have asked for one, but again, no one picks up the phone, and there is no front desk. the walk way path from the parking lot to the front door at night is not lit - it is in disrepair and unsafe. they also don't leave any lights on inside the building itself, not even censored or "candle" lit. i also didn't expect a tv or anything fancy, but beware there is literally nothing to offer in terms of "things to do". no social space for other guests, no TVs, not even a room phone. i also did not get good vibes from anyone i asked for help - to the point where i thought it might be unsafe to do so. i was very completely alone in the "section" i stayed in - i stay in hotels so that i don't feel unsafe and this did NOT check that box. i would very very highly recommend finding somewhere else to stay. read more

This was a nice, quiet place on the outskirts of Helena. It's 45 minutes from the Great Divide (a local ski hill) and only a few miles from town. I loved the architecture and history. Beautiful old farmhouse!! Breakfast was unique and tasty with a farm to table homemade taste. HOWEVER, the owners are absent. Difficult to find and none engaging. Bathroom falls short in cleanliness. I wouldn't mind sharing if I felt it was clean! The animals on the farm are great and fun to be around, train horns all night kept waking my husband up. I felt a few things need updating such as bathroom and carpets. Would not go back. Just missing that extra special touch. read more

we had a wonderful meal here a few years ago but the food has really gone downhill. assorted artisan bread basket for $6 was a mini baguette sliced into six pieces. chicken was impossibly dry. canned olives as an appetizer. it was probably the worst "fine dining" meal I've had in years. we really want this place to thrive - the building is beautiful and the farm concept is special. the wine selection was good. but whatever happened to the food is worth a warning as we essentially spent 450 on tv dinners... read more
