We gave our son a choice where he wanted to go for Brunch for his Birthday. He decided on OEG great we said let's go there. Not realizing it's Lilac Festival on Sunday, they had 4th street totally closed to vehicle traffic. So you guessed traffic was horrific and parking was next to impossible. Have no fear our son says I know a place where we can park. He did no lie we drove right in and found a spot. We walked to OEB where we were on a waiting list to be seated. We arrived right on time and were seated outside in a covered patio. Soon as we were seated our server brought us water and took our drink orders and food order Our server Michelle was wonderful! We ordered French Toast strawberry and blueberry with whipped cream, Soul in a bowl,Traditional Benny, The one that did not get away Benny and of course drinks. Due to the Lilac Festival was very very busy. Regardless of that the food and drinks came to us fairly fast and hot. Everything tasted delicious! Great brekkie. Classic Breakfast .They give you real butter for the toast, none of that horrible margarine. Service was fast and courteous Roomy location with a deck area. I asked for another slice of toast as only one comes with the meal and it was free. Free ketchup also came but as I had sausages I prefer mustard. Much to my surprise the approximate 2 tablespoons of mustard comes with a $2.50 charge!!?? I only used a small portion of the mustard so just to prove a point, I asked for the leftover mustard to go. My boyfriend and I went there for a brunch today, and we ordered 3 different food, my bf ordered the gnocchi carbonara and mine was the Canadian lobster & shrimp crepe. Lastly, we had the french toast trifle for dessert. Overall the food is okay, nothing too special about it. Not that a big wow factor, my only complaint was when the server gave my bf the gnocchi carbonara we saw a fruit fly flying around the food, and we called the attention of the server, and she didn't even offered to change our food or anything, she just ignored us. I have been to this place a couple of times over the summer. I use to go to the Edmonton Trail location and noticed it has expanded and became a franchise since moving back to Calgary. The food is good and the service is good too. It's on the pricy side. However the quality of the food has also improved and they now has an extensive menu. It does get busy over the summer but it has an outdoor patio. I ordered a breakfast poutine which did not have the traditional cheese curds and gravy but instead it contained spinach, avocado and waffle cut fries. It was ok but I should have ordered a dish that had more of the traditional poutine ingredients. I also had the eggs benny and it was quite good. Overall, pretty good restaurant. read more

We came here on the last day of my friends bachelorette trip spontaneously due to good reviews and I am so so so pleased with our decision! First off, the interior was so cool and trendy!
