Norman Public Library - Art Installation "For Our Dear Friend, Cylinda Richardson-Martin, still taking wing"

    Norman Public Library

Love this library! Also, after reading a couple reviews talking about homeless people at the public…read morelibrary, I thought it important at this point to give people a little information about what the Pioneer Public Library offers and who all is allowed/not allowed to be there. So, here goes: First of all, the City of Norman has a non-profit mileage reimbursement program. This program is designed to provide free transportation to individuals and families in Norman who are currently, or who have recently experienced homelessness. The East Norman Pioneer Public Library is one of the participating agencies of this program. So, the public library is qualified and has been approved to be one of the prominent transportation pick-up/drop-locations for those needing such services. Also, the presence of homeless people in libraries is not a problem. The way some of these patrons have spoken about homeless people (and have also given the library a poor rating for allowing open access to everyone) is unacceptable in general, let alone having the confidence to write about ppl experiencing homelessness, which is a dangerous, uncomfortable, and alienating experience, is bewildering. No one is entitled to use the public library more than anyone else. The rules of behavior remain the same for everyone, and anyone can be asked to leave if causing disruption or harm. Public libraries are there to facilitate public access to information... If someone smells, if they talk to themselves, if they have lots of bags with them, etc. - none of these things render someone a non-person or an illegitimate library user. So, either have a one-on-one conversation with the City and Library Director or find somewhere else? And may your surroundings rise to meet your standards... eventually...

"Having fun's not hard when you've got a library card!" - Arthur…read more I recently had a chance to check out the new library since it moved. I was very impressed, the front staff was very welcoming and enthusiastic about everything the library has to offer. Downstairs is the friends of the library bookstore, the computer lab and various workspaces for those who need internet or a printer/scan/fax. It also houses the children's section, audiobooks and all new fiction. By new, I mean NEW fiction. Stuff I was surprised to see no one had checked out yet. The second level is dedicated to adult fiction and YA fiction. Plus it also has a 3-D printer that can be used by any member and some other gadgets. There was a glass enclosed conference room that looks like anyone could reserve it and the third level is Adult Fiction LARGE print books and Non-fiction. There are so many architecturally interesting details despite it being very modern and there were plenty of areas to study or use your own electronic devices such as a kindle or a laptop. My only gripe is the non-fiction section is lacking. This isn't a library suited for a research paper or academic assignment even for a high school or middle school kid.

BRAVO YELP IS THE BEST Company…read moreHistory For over 35 years, Bio-Cide International has manufactured Oxine and Purogene, proven safe disinfectants effective on a broad spectrum of microorganisms. Located in Norman, Oklahoma, we manufacture a versatile line of chemical disinfectants, sanitizers, deodorizers and preservatives. Bio-Cide's products are based on our company's proprietary chlorine dioxide solution which is environmentally safe and effective against a wide variety of microorganisms in short contact times. The products have been tested for quality, effectiveness and toxicity. Bio-Cide has obtained government approvals, licenses and registrations for each product to assure its authenticity and safety. The initial chlorine dioxide applications were for water treatment, animal health environments, household and agricultural purposes. The success of these products encouraged expansion into larger commercial applications where product approvals have been granted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Currently, Bio-Cide's products are instrumental in the elimination of microorganisms found in the medical professions, water treatment, food processing plants, dairy and bottling plants, the seafood industry, air duct ventilation systems, the oil field industry, and the animal health industry. The chlorine dioxide based products ultimately break down to simple salt leaving no toxic residues. This allows all of our products to be utilized in conjunction with food products and processing equipment as well as certain specific applications in dental, hospital and laboratory environments. The technical advances in Bio-Cide's products have resulted in a nearly odourless, clear, stable formula which can be stored, transported and used without special consideration.

There was a problem with the weight of the unit weighing down my kitchen ceiling and busting the sheet rock. They also had to remove my attic door and make the space bigger to get the unit in. They said they would fix it. The financing was easy and they worked with me to find the right fit. The prices are reasonable as well. Thank you, Zack, Carly, Derek and all the technicians that worked on my new a/c!! It is beautiful!

Colton, I need you to understand why I am still extremely upset about how today was handled…read more When we spoke Wednesday, you asked what you could do to make this right. I specifically told you I was NOT looking for free service. I said maybe a discount would be appropriate, and you told me more than once, "Don't worry about the money." I took you at your word. I removed my Google, Yelp, Facebook and Instagram reviews, and I responded to the BBB complaint saying that the owner had contacted me and was working to resolve the situation. Then your technicians came today. They thoroughly inspected the system and did a good job. But they presented me with the FULL PRICE, discussed that price with me, and had me sign an estimate without one word acknowledging what you and I had discussed. I then spent roughly an hour and a half believing that, after everything that happened Wednesday and everything you told me, I was once again going to have to fight with your company to get you to follow through. When I finally made them call you, your explanation was: "I didn't want them knowing anything" because you wanted them to go through the normal process and you wanted to "make sure Rocky was doing his thing on point." Do you understand how backwards that was from my perspective? This was not the appointment to secretly test your normal process or see whether an employee was "doing his thing on point." This was a customer-recovery visit after a serious breakdown in trust. Your job as the owner was to make absolutely certain this visit went smoothly. If you wanted the technicians to diagnose the problem independently, fine. You still could have handled the customer side separately. Before I was asked to sign a full-price estimate, somebody should have said, "Aaron, this is the normal price, but we spoke with the owner and there will be an adjustment because of what happened Wednesday." That one sentence would have changed the entire experience. Instead, I had to bring up your promise myself AFTER the work was completed. Only then did they call you. Only then did the price change. And ultimately you told them not to charge me anything. I appreciate that you made the service free, but I need you to understand something: I NEVER ASKED FOR FREE SERVICE. This was never about getting something for free. I wanted your company to demonstrate that it understood what went wrong, took responsibility for it, communicated internally, and could complete one service call without requiring me to fight for what I had already been promised. Instead, I lost another part of my day dealing with this, got angry again, had another confrontation in my own house, and once again had to tell your people to leave. Your technicians themselves were respectful and did a thorough job. I told them that directly and even shook the technician's hand before he left. My problem is with how YOU chose to manage this recovery. You said, "That's not how I wanted it to happen. I wanted them to call me after they finished." But that is exactly the problem. By the time they finished, I had already been presented with and signed the full-price estimate. I was the only person standing there who knew you had promised an accommodation. You created completely unnecessary uncertainty during a visit whose entire purpose should have been restoring trust. Free service afterward does not undo that. I wanted this resolved today. I genuinely did. I gave your company another opportunity because I respected the way you spoke to me Wednesday and believed you were going to make this right. That is why I am so disappointed with how you chose to handle it. Laurel, that explanation is exactly the problem. Colton told me directly that he intentionally kept the technicians in the dark because he wanted to "see how we roll" and "make sure Rocky was doing his thing on point." This was supposed to be a customer-recovery visit after your company had already lost my trust. It was not the appropriate time to use my home and my service call as a test of your internal processes or employees. If anything, this was the appointment where management should have communicated MORE, not less, and made absolutely certain everything went smoothly. And calling this simply a problem with "how the pricing was communicated" minimizes what actually happened. I was intentionally left unaware of how the promised accommodation would be handled, signed the normal estimate, and sat for approximately 90 minutes believing I was going to have to fight about this all over again. The free repair was appreciated, but I never asked for free service. I wanted competent communication, accountability, and a follow-up visit that actually restored my confidence. Unfortunately, the way management chose to handle it accomplished the exact opposite.
