12/15/16: I went by the office to ask a question about my gas logs that they installed and to schedule a service call. The ladies in the office were very helpful and courteous. I was originally /scheduled for two weeks out, but got a call the next day and they were able to slip /me in early. All of the employees are friendly and personable, they even remembered me from the last time they were out to the house. Randy and Jeff came out to the house to service the logs. They did an awesome job! They kept it clean, and were finished in a short time. The logs are working perfect! I definitely recommend them to anyone that needs any work done on their fireplace. They are the only company that I use for mine! Update 12/17/16: Pilot light let went out, we re-lit and it went back out. Had to call them right back out to the house, they came immediately. If you have pets that shed a lot, you need to make sure you don't let pet hair or spider-webs build up in your fireplace and block the pilot light. We had our fireplace refurbished by American Chimney. There were repairs needed, the chimney needed cleaning and we needed a new gas log set installed. I am not sure what happened with these other reviews but they do not match our experience. Our experience with the office was excellent. They guided us as to what was required for our particular situation and even looked up information on the computer for us. Randy and Jeff were courteous and professional. They took all the time needed to install everything. They took a problem situation and turned it around for us. We now love our fireplace and are ready for the winter months. First I would like to say how awesome the entire staff is, from the lady who works at the showroom, to the guys that came out and did the work, and even the friendly shop dog named Jack. I was very impressed with how kind they were. American Chimney and Masonry came out recently and got rid of the old run down mailbox that I had and built a new brick mailbox within a few hours! They charged me to "look" at the chimney repair then when I asked for a written formal quote the girl in the office sent me a quote for $1390 which was different than the $3000 VERBAL quote the owner had given me on the job site. I then requested a detailed quote for my insurance company and she emailed me back with a new number...$13,900! And, it still wasn't itemized. When I called to ask for an explanation NO ONE would return my calls. I tried for weeks to get someone to address the quote but NO ONE would. Well...they got my $180 for "looking". Your company is a delight to work with. We bought a new gas fireplace to go in our new home but upon inspection it was found that our house's fire brick enclosure was badly damaged. This had to be repaired first. Your team did the repair next day after getting the necessary parts. Everything now works beautifully. I had an issue with a leak and my roofer looked at it and said it was coming from my Chimney's Cap. I called American Chimney and they made an appointment for a technician to inspect my Chimney. Randy came out and after inspecting he recommended a new cap, diffuser and sealing the flashing. A couple of days later they came out and made the needed repairs and replacements. Randy is a cheater and a fake. Don't believe anything he says. He won't pay me for the electricity work I did for him. Acted like a nice Christian man, but oh no. No zeros in the star choices or he would get one from me. Only reason I helped him out was because I judged him to be of good character. Boy was I wrong about this guy. I called American Chimney to have an old fireplace insert removed, emailed in pictures and received a fast response with my quote. They worked me in quickly and after removal found my damper was missing to the original fireplace and I had crumbling mortar at the top of the chimney. They were able to do the repairs and install the new damper the same day. They were quick and efficient and very clean. The room looked the same before and after they left. We saw them on our street working on a neighbor's brick repair, and stopped to ask if they could add brick planters to our brick mailbox with spare brick. They showed up the next day, finished the job and thoroughly cleaned up the site with a water house, including taking the leftover brick back to the place where they were stacked before. They did a great job on the planters, and I would definitely recommend them! read more
