Camillo gives you and your group (one price for up to 12 people) a boat tour of Capri and Anacapri on his very own wooden boat. He grew up on the island of Capri and knows literally everything about the island!! There are several tours available, both different times of the day and different lengths of time. We did the base tour which was 2.5 hours. He brought us to several beautiful caves, gave us the opportunity to swim, and even drove us under the love arches of the rocks of Faraglioni. Camillo was very personable, knowledgeable, and was beyond thrilled to share all of his info on both Capri and Anacapri with us. He was more than willing to take pictures for us the entire time, make recommendations for how to spend the day on the island, and at the end of the tour he even had us try his mom's homemade limoncello. This boat tour was truly amazing and I would recommend it to everyone!! Well worth the money and time!! Note: he does not take you INTO the Blue Grotto, you will pass by it however and you will also see several other caves with the same beautiful color. You can always pay 14 Euros before/after the tour if you're interested in going inside (weather-permitting).

WOW! WOW! WOW! We're wrapping up four weeks in Europe and…read morethis was one of the highlights! We did the all day premium Capri boat tour and it was fantastic! Here are a few things you might find helpful: We were in the 8:30 departure. You're first stop is Capri where you'll be dropped off. Our return time to the marina was 1:30. So there's time to go to the top if you're smart and go right away. We went to Capri town and while the gardens were worthwhile, the high end shops were just that. And got crowded as the day progressed. Our friends went to Anacapri and took the chair lift to the top and LOVED it. In retrospect that would have been a better choice for us. Make sure you leave time to get back down because there will be lines, maybe long ones. Our group chose not to do the Blue Grotto. They do that after we return so this is something to discuss beforehand, as the time you WILL wait in line for that (1.5 hours had we done it) will cut into the magic that was ahead. Then we went around the island into the little grottos and they even took fun pictures. Then we swam! It was GORGEOUS!!! It's chilly but DO IT. The water is turquoise and truly magical. Antonio and the Captain were fabulous. They made it SO fun, adding a few surprises that I won't reveal . The time in the boat was the BEST! DO IT!!!!!!

Took tour of Pompeii & Vesuvius w/ lunch. Not a great start as we fought the masses off our cruise…read moreto find our tour... every guide had a paper held up w/ names except ours. We asked around & then found our guy (Luka). He had the name of tour on paper but wasn't holding it up. We had to wait for lates & pick up non cruisers elsewhere as well.. so a couple of delays. Bus was filled - every seat, & he did an info session in broken English, so we got over half the story. We had a few other tours in 3 other countries w/ excellent English speakers. The tour took us to Pompeii but first we had a detour through an art gallery to "visit restrooms" but really it was a sales pitch for their jewelry/art. The tour was w/ a different guide, thomaso, who was good but a bit of language barrier. It was about 2 hrs guided. Then we wasted about 30 mins waiting for restroom/snack break before walking to bus for our lunch stop. We ate at Kona restaurant about halfway up the volcano with I'm amazing view. We were told a light lunch which turned surprisingly into a huge 6 course meal. Included a drink, bread, a four appetizer sampler, slice of pizza, a bowl of pasta, and a piece of cake. All the food was real good and the servers were nice... But it did take well over an hour to eat. We finished up the rest of the way to the top of the volcano. It was a pretty serious hike from the parking area to the rim. It was self-guided with no tour guide. There were gift shops & food at the top as well!! But once you get to the top, the panoramas were insane and the inside view was cool. We agreed as a group to cut the mountain visit an hour short so we can get back to the port by 4 PM still, since long lunch and our other delays pushed the whole tour off schedule. The overall tour was pretty good, the bus was nice and the three stops were great. it could be a little better organized/ arranged to speed things up. Also if the guides' English was better that would've helped to make it 5 stars.

I am not a cruise person, but I found myself on a cruise in Europe with family. 8 ports in 10 days...if you want the sampler platter of the Continent, not a bad way to go. Problem: How to do more than stop in a city and check a box? This is where Amalfi Coast Destination came in. He's from the Amalfi Coast and knows just about everyone. We even ran into his father in Ravello. He gives you access to a lot of places that the tour buses won't stop at. And completely customized to your needs--we wanted to throw Pompeii into the mix and were able to do so without being rushed. The highlights: *Touristy stuff: A boat ride through a grotto, and a little miniature of a town *Shopping in Amalfi *Breathtaking views and photo stops the whole way--including a posh hotel not open to random tourists *Wandering the square of Ravello *The most amazing meal ever: balcony view down the gorge to the Med at Ristorante San Giovanni, a rustic hand crafted meal. Roberto even brought the limoncello. *Pompeii Dock to dock service in a comfortable Mercedes mini-van that could easily accommodate 6. It was a memorable day with family, one we will never forget.
