The sheer opulence of the palace is almost impossible to describe. Every room is more breathtaking than the last, and learning about the history and significance of Versailles made the visit even more inspiring. Standing in a place where so much history unfolded was truly awe-inspiring. We booked a private tour that included transportation to and from our hotel, making the day completely stress-free. Our guide was knowledgeable and shared fascinating stories and historical details that brought the palace to life. After touring the palace, we rented a golf cart to explore the grounds. With temperatures nearing 100 degrees, it was the perfect way to experience the magnificent gardens without having to walk for miles in the heat. The gardens are stunning and deserve just as much time as the palace itself. If you're visiting Paris, I highly recommend setting aside a full day for Versailles. Between the incredible history, spectacular architecture, and beautifully landscaped grounds, it's an experience you won't soon forget.

Quality/Quantity - Glad my wife made a last second decision to go to Versailles, France for this field trip from Paris. Worth the bus and train rides... Thank you Google Maps for a smooth transition. Huge palace! Both indoors and outdoors. Please see all my pictures, well at least the ones that got uploaded. It will still NOT do it justice, you just need to go. Ambiance - See above and my pictures. Many rentals - Boats, bikes, golf carts, etc. Service - Self service. Price - 35 Euros per person; I felt very reasonable. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success.

April 11, Montmartre Pastry and Chocolate Food Tour, Paris…read more Our family of four with a son 9 and daughter 10 did a pastry and chocolate tour through Montmartre and it ended up being a really fun way to explore the area. Arrival and First Impressions The group was small, just our family and another family, which worked out well. The shops we visited were tiny so taking turns going in and out was part of the experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and walked us through side streets, small parks, and local spots we would never have found on our own. The Highlights We stopped at six different locations including chocolatiers, bakeries, and pastry shops. Highlights included a choux pastry, crepes, madeleines, artisan eclairs, and multiple chocolate tastings. The final stop for hot chocolate and macarons was excellent. The macarons were so good we ended up buying some to bring home. The tour was not just about food. We saw the Love Wall, hidden streets, and learned about the history of Montmartre including small details about the neighborhood that made it feel more personal. The Challenges The guide did not have a very loud voice so in a bigger group it might have been harder to follow, but with our small group it worked fine. Would We Return Yes, especially to try a different tour. It was a great mix of food and exploring. Final Thoughts This tour is a great way to experience Montmartre beyond just walking around. The combination of food, history, and hidden locations made it a memorable and worthwhile experience.

Their ticket purchasing process is misleading and unethical. You go about filling our information,…read morelike you do for many websites, but unlike any other website, you hit the "Next" button (for the third time) and suddenly you have purchased the ticket, without any opportunity to review your tour date, number of participants or even credit card info. All the previous "Next" buttons led to the next step in the process, as is implied by the word and as you would expect, but not this one - it is the final confirmation of purchase even though there is NO indication that this is about to happen. Then they tell you that there are no refunds under any circumstances and that the credit and ticketing laws do not apply to them. Perhaps this is because they are based in Cyprus, which I assume they have chosen precisely to evade regulations. Note that they say there are no refunds no matter what - even if your overall trip gets cancelled or the tour gets cancelled or the guide does not show up. Be very careful, or better yet, avoid these folks and do any of the other more legitimate tours out there for wherever you are travelling to.

Okay so let's talk dinner cruises and what you're paying for…read more 1) First and foremost you're paying for the captain and crew to safely navigate the ship. When you take a look at the length of these vessels, the current in the river, the narrowness of the waterway and how they twist the ship in these conditions- they're impressive ship handlers. And on top of it all, they time it to make sure your first view of the Eiffel Tower is as it starts sparkling. Brilliant. 2) The food. Now most dinner cruises aren't actually known for their food. This wasn't my favorite meal of the trip, but it was damn good. And when you realize there's a staff below cranking out these options in a galley below decks while under way, there's some mad respect for the quality they're able to achieve. 3) The experience. There's live music and there's great views. All in all... you sit back and just enjoy the sites. Just remember... the more you pay for your menu, the closer you sit to the windows. But hey, that's why you came right? Anyways, is this a total tourist trap- hell yes. But I wouldn't have it any other way. It was pricey, but I certainly didn't feel ripped off. And watching my son's eyes light up the first time he saw the Eiffel Tower at night was worth every penny.

I did the sunset cruise and thought it was an awesome way to see the stuff on the Seine. Honestly…read morethis was worth it for the Eiffel tower views alone. We did seem to leave a bit too late (we were on time with the scheduled time but I think it should have been earlier) so it was pretty dark when we left and we didn't really get to see any sunset, mostly just twilight and the dark. There also isn't any narration and an optional audio guide might have been nice. Finally, I found it pretty hard to see any of Notre Dame from the bottom deck. These improvements would make this experience better but it was still great and the price is reasonable. Some tips: sit on the left side of the boat (when facing forward) for the best Eiffel Tower views and consider sitting on the top for even better views into everything. Dress warmly if it is the fall or winter as it does get pretty cold since you're on the water. To find the pier, use Google maps- it is well marked and the directions to get there are good.

9:30PM Night Tour of Paris…read more.. Paris is a visual city. One of the best ways to orient yourself is with the popular two-hour tourist bus tours that loop the city center. After searching through AD's for objective reviews: (https://freetoursbyfoot.com/hop-on-hop-off-paris/), we saved a few euros by scheduling a night tour, a day before on their website. Navigating activities, times, connections, streets, maps, names, transport and stops takes real dedication. So, why not leave the driving to a tour company? Since we were arriving in the afternoon, it was expected that we would encounter rush hour. Too late for a daylight tour or even the 7:00PM night tour, although that's what we would have preferred since its right around sunset and warmer. Meeting near Rivoli Metro station we verified that we were paid passengers at the front desk. The bus was on time and once folks got their earplugs, there was a mad unorganized scramble to board the bus for folks to reach the open air upper deck. We started off in the loop from Notre Dame (unlit), Seine to Left Bank to Eiffel Tower, rounding the Champs Eylsees to the Arc de Triomphe, the Opera House, Moulin Rouge and back. Sitting towards the middle of the bus gives the best all around views. Best photographs are when the bus stops completely. Bring a jacket and scarf. Lots of those folks who rushed the top deck eventually went below since it gets cool as the evening wears on. For 20È its a quick cheap way to orient yourself and snap a few great pics. Audio was okay if you're paying attention. PS to past reviewers- it's one of the cheapest tour companies in Paris. So you kind of get what you pay for...

In less than 30 minutes we were at Palais Garnier(opera house) in the heart of Paris. She elegantly led through the streets instilling all her knowledge of Paris and France. Janice sat me down with a cafe ole, and proceeded to inform me all about; neighborhoods, cafes, cabs, taxis, trains and the very important Paris metro system. Since my trip was to south she was in charge of getting me on to my train without fail, with threats of a national Rail Strike. My guide ensured me that I will get to my final destination and beyond. Without fail I was on a High Speed train to Lourdes France to begin a truly remarkable vacation, and by the time I got back to Paris I felt like an expert in getting around. We first skyped with Sharon and Rich to plan out our trip, mainly to find the best out of the way places. We started the trip with a personal Airport pickup. Then we spent the next 4 days on some great private tours. First the Montmartre art & culture tour, then the Marais shopping tour (my wife designed her own perfume scent), then the Tuileries Waterlilies & Hot Chocolate Tour (love that Angelina's Hot Chocolate). But the best part though, was when Janice (a Jazz singer her self) took us on a custom Jazz music tour to the best out of the way Jazz venues, and gave us the low down on the Paris Jazz culture. We also wanted to to Marianne's private gallery tour, but the timing was not right. We'll do that one the next time, and probably the Cheese market tour, and (maybe) the 'Gotta Dance' tour. Thanks Rich and americanconcierge.com. We'll see you next time we're in Paris.

This was truly the highlight of our trip and offered such a unique, intimate way to see the city. I felt like I fell in love with Paris the moment we hopped on our adorable pistachio and cherry red Vespa's to go explore. We opted for the half day Paris tour with Thierry. We arrived in Paris on April 28th for my 30th birthday and had some rainy weather predicted for our tour date. Marion was incredibly accommodating when we asked at the 11th hour to switch our tour date from April 30th to May 1st instead, hoping for better weather! We're so glad we switched - the weather cleared up and we just had a few scattered clouds whiled we cruised around Paris with Thierry. We had already been in Paris for a few days taking in the usual sights, so Thierry happily obliged to take us to some other neighborhoods and sites we still wanted to see. We got to see the university, the Latin Quarter, The Père Lachaise cemetery, Montmartre and the Sacred Heart, Hemingway's house, the Marais neighborhood with its boutiques, the Louvre and so much more! Our favorite aspect of Left Bank Scooters was the ability we had to keep the scooters for the rest of the day/overnight. This allowed us to take in the sights on our own and really get to see all of Paris at our own pace. It was absolutely magical! My fiancé and I, and our two friends literally drove all over the city. They provide comfortable helmets and gloves, which were much appreciated on the chilly day we had. If you're on the fence on whether to do this activity or not - DO IT. It's 110% worth every penny. You will get to experience Paris in such a unique way that no hop-on-hop-off bus tour could ever do. As a side note, I was nervous about driving in a foreign country, but my fiancé and his friend drove while us ladies rode on the back. It wasn't nearly as nerve racking as I thought it would be, you get the hang of it pretty quickly! Thank you Marion and Thierry, we can't wait to come back one day!
