This Office Depot really blows. There is not a great selection of products and toner is waaay too expensive. They sold toner for my Brother laser printer for $90 when it was sold on Amazon for $12. I told this to an employee, and he said, I must have looked at a different item. Uh, no, you guys just price gouge. I am amazed that this place is still in business. read more

The quality of my printed orders are ok, but the service is unacceptable. I always use the online service to place orders, simple orders, and every time there is some issue that results in me having to wait 10 mins or more to pick up something I ordered the day before. My understanding of the online service is to have the convenience to pick up my order with out a wait, but 9 times out of 10 my order is not ready when I come to pick it up, and I usually come late mornings/early afternoons....I don't get it. It took a long time to get help. I was standing at the front of the store and the cashier (Matthew) was hiding behind the register and said nothing when I mentioned to another customer that I was looking for help. He then proceeded to ring up that customer and I had to get someone from the online pick up area. When they did help me locate the item I was looking for I took the item to the front and waited a few minutes while the employees stood behind the online pick up desk and continued to chat amongst themselves while I waited. Finally one of the employees told Matthew to go back to the front. It was very uncomfortable and I do not plan on ever shopping here again. Staff is rude. I purchased Office Depot's own brand of replacement ink color cartridges for a Canon printer - none of which worked! When I went back to replace them, I was told that perhaps I should just purchase the actual Canon cartridges - which were exactly twice the price! Then they said they would exchange, but found they didn't have the cartridges in stock (even though I had called ahead of time and was told to come on in). They sent me to another Office Depot "five minutes away" - as if anything in Southern California traffic is five minutes away from anything else! Twenty minutes later, I made the exchange at another Office Depot, took the cartridges back to install them (having wasted a total of an hour of my time on this transaction), just to find the cartridges leaking all over my hands, desk and computer keyboard when the package was opened. Office Depot not only refused to stand behind their brand or their sale, they basically as much as said that they didn't care about me as a customer, and I could just go ahead and call corporate to lodge a complaint - that was fine with them. I will never again buy any ink cartridge from Office Depot. There are plenty of online services such as injets.com which stand behind their products, ship promptly to your door, and offer superior customer service. read more

I guess it depends on what time of day one visits here and who's on staff during particular shifts. I must have come around the same time as the other positive reviewers who received great service because that's what I got, great service. The store was fairly empty and I was greeted then the cashier physically brought up my oversized printer, rang me up and got a fellow employee carry it out to my car. I would give this zero stars but I'm not sure it's an option. I avoid this place if I can so have only been here about three times if it's my only resort. I usually travel to a farther office supply store even though this one is the closest. The main reason is that they have no respect or courtesy for customers. The employees talk to each other while people are waiting patiently in line with no service, the store is usually a mess, and they either don't know their product well or they don't feel like talking to you about it. It's never a pleasure coming here. Today I was charged twice for something but it's not even worth it to me to go back because I don't want to be in there again. read more

I go here to do a lot of printing, the printing department people are very helpful and try to move the line as fast as possible. Since its close to csuf the printing area gets crowded when students print projects. Everyone there is friendly and courteous. Great location, plenty of parking. read more

WORST CUSTOMER CARE EVER! I am a regular shopper at this store and have been for years. I went there yesterday to redeem some rewards in the amount of $8.81, which was sent to me via email. We have a small business, so I picked up a few office items, hoping to use my rewards for a part of it. I showed the cashier the email with my rewards amount, but he was unable to find me in the system. He called the store manager, Chris, who led me to another area and asked for my phone number and email address. He said that I could not use my rewards because he couldn't find me in the system by either means. I again showed him the email, FROM OFFICE DEPOT, so I how could I not be "in the system?" Chris insisted that he could not find me, so therefore I could not use my rewards. I asked him if he could please find another way so I could make my purchase, because now a considerable time has gone by, He continually refused this request, and actually blamed be for the situation because I didn't have a password for Office Depot. I finally said, "This is the worst customer care ever!" He replied, "Well, I'm sorry you feel that way." He actually let me walk out of there, unhappy and feeling lots of ill will toward Office Depot over a measly $8.81!! Managers are supposed to solve problems, not create more to make it harder for the consumer because of some technical glitch. I spoke to him on the phone later, and he said that he had "tried to help me but just couldn't." He said I could have my items for free, which totaled a little over $11.00. Small consolation for the humiliation he put me through, begging to use rewards that I was fully entitled to. Hope Chris is real pleased with himself for losing a loyal customer. read more

When you are working and in a hurry, don't bother calling here to ask them to assist you by bringing your items to the front. They'll leave you on hold for 15 minutes, and by the time you get there you'll just get the items yourself. Then they'll answer and they'll be talking to you, but you just leave the phone on while you're already purchasing your items, because they're incapable of taking you off hold in a timely manner. I came here to have my thesis printed on my specialty thesis paper. The lady helping me in the copy center was apparently the department manager. However, she could just as easily be mistaken for a new employee. Completely unprofessional - handled my expensive paper carelessly, got some dirt smudges on my printed thesis while handling it, careless handling lead to a few soft creases on the thesis, and that's after I waited 30 minutes for the 3 employees to figure out how to print the thesis on my supplied paper. How hard is it to print a document on a printer you use daily??? I suggest fedex/kinkos for document printing needs. They might be a little more expensive but the quality and service they offer is miles ahead of Office Depot! read more

He walked everything to the cashier for me and even rang me up so I wouldn't have to wait in line. He even helped me out with a coupon they had in the weekly paper I didn't know about. This Office Depot has an excellent selection of office supplies and has never been busy the handful of times I have been there. I have always been promptly greeted and offered assistance without having to ask. The associates there have a laid back approach. Yes, they do like to chat quite a bit with co-workers, but (in my opinion) it is all good so long as they are taking care of their customers (and I feel they do). read more

When I first walked in I was immediately noticed by one of the cashiers, despite the fact that they were very busy. This may seem like a small gesture, but customer awareness is important to me, and I liked that. I made my way to the register to buy some stamps and ask about envelopes. The cashier told me that the guys at the photocopy area could take care of me. I thanked her and headed over there. I came up to the counter and was not immediately acknowledged. There were two guys helping a cute young lady at the counter. I meandered for a little bit and thought I would bide some time and look for the envelopes myself. Not finding them, I figured I would head back to the photocopy guys, hoping that they were finished. This time they noticed me however and told me where the envelopes were. They also explained that the cashier could sell me the stamps I needed. Not a big deal about the stamps; just a little miscommunication. As I approached the cashier with my envelopes in hand, I happened to turn back and notice the photocopy guys. One of the three seemed to be constructing a miniature toy basketball hoop, while the other two were eagerly taking practice shots. Really? Nothing says "slackers" more than that, especially on an open floor like the one they have. The phone was ringing off the hook in the middle of my transaction, so I told the nice cashier lady that she could get the phone, because I can see that everyone is really hard at work, lol. She smiled and thanked me for my patience. This cashier was the only saving grace for my visit. She should be cloned and distributed throughout all Office Depot stores. I brought my laptop and to Office Depot in Fullerton on Thursday I was told by the individual that there is a service they do and will check my computer out for free and fix minor problems at no charge after checking my computer they said my computer had my laptop had other problems and they would offer me a service for $199 he told me the service would be a 24 hour turnaround I agreed and bought the service 27 hours later I called to see if my computer was ready they said it was not they had problems I told them keep me in the loop let me know what the situation is he said will let you know I waited another 27 hours I call back Saturday I asked if my computer was done they said no they were still having problems with it I asked him what kind of problems and he said we're just having problems he said he would call me back when they discover the problem with the computer is Peter I asked him are they open on Sunday he said yes until 8 o'clock I said very good call me and let me know what the status of my computer is I waited until Sunday night 9 o'clock nobody called me up now when I talked to the guy the first time about not calling me back and let me letting me know what any problems were he said I'm very sorry for that but we will take care of the problem and the second time I called he apologized again he didn't call me and I didn't call him and he should have called me back he said he would I am very displeased with this customer service at this Office Depot the fact that they never called me at all not even to tell me we need your computer another day or we're still having problems not even that courtesy even though I indicated my need to know what's going on and they knew it and ignored it therefore I'm giving this Office Depot a very bad review and when I called them up today and if they can't tell me anything then I'm going to address their incompetence refund my money on my service that I bought and give him my laptop back because apparently they are not the computer experts they claim to be so bad review very bad I would not suggest anybody take their computers to at least this Office Depot for repair read more

So it's Thanksgiving Day, and I've arrived just in time for a 5 o'clock opening. But they're not opening--and I'm out in the cold waiting. Finally, I asked someone ahead of me if they opened at 5 or 6 o'clock. (Oops! It was still a good thing because I got in earlier than the line that formed after me. . .) Imagine my surprise when several red-shirt employees came out early to facilitate our finding what we came for. Talk about changing one's mood! (Customers who came for limited-quantity items either received a pass to get one of the inventory or were politely steered toward alternatives on sale. One of the service clerks even brought a clipboard to help me sign up for their rewards plan!) Once inside the store, a small army of yet more clerks were centered in the store, directing customer traffic. I got direct assistance on my super-sale items. Glorioski--all my items were in stock and checkout was easy. (I wasn't one of those buying the limited-quantity Laptops or TVs, but scored a Dell monitor at half off retail.) I have never been treated soooo badly. I went in to return a pen that my husband had bought just this morning to replace one of mine. I was unable to find the one that I previously had (it is only available on-line) so I went to the cashier to return the one my husband bought and she asked if I had the card that is was paid with I said no my husband has it and he is at work and the card was processed as a debit. The cashier called a manager over, he seemed very unhappy to be working, he was very rude and said that he would give me cash but would tell me why he was and why they shouldn't give me the cash as a refund. He told me that he didn't know if I stole the pen and receipt or if I was trying to take all of my husbands money. What happen to the part why he was going to give me cash!!!! This guy needs to solve his own issues at home and not take it out on the customers. I will never go into this store again!!! read more
