Seeing the city and getting around quicker with the cool windy breeze was amazing and definitely is a great way to cite see. However, that is about all you are paying for...NOT the tour. You are essentially paying for using a Segway. We booked an English speaking 2 hour tour in hopes of learning more about the history of Strasbourg. Our guide was nice but could NOT speak English well and was misinformed. She couldn't answer basic questions and was extremely difficult to understand. She actually misinformed us about several of the locations we "visited" on our Segways which we later found out through research, other tours, and the boat tour. She also would try to guide the whole group across a busy street when the light was red or there was not enough space for all of us to pass. Several times she was the only one able to pass and had to wait across the street for us as we avoided onlooking traffic. Our tour guide was nice, but lacked any information about Strasbourg history, misinformed us, and couldn't speak English. Thus, only book an English tour if you plan on paying solely for the Segway experience and not the tour experience.

We had never tried a Segway tour on previous trips and were feeling adventurous so we decided to visit Mobilboard. After a very quick lesson we were on our way for a 60 minute tour and within 5 minutes decided we wanted the 2 hour tour. Our guide Quentin immediately granted our wish and then we set out for what turned out to be an amazing experience. The ride was exhilarating and Quentin was engaging throughout and provided outstanding commentary on all the sites. He even volunteered to take our picture without prompt. Our trip was extremely fun and I strongly recommend this experience for everyone!

He lives and breathes of his love for Alsace and wine and he made our day so enjoyable with his conversation and wonderful accent. Paul was so kind and patient while translating for us and teaching us all he knows of wine and the local wineries we visited. We especially enjoyed meeting the local wineries family owners and are amazed at their long heritage and dedication to the industry and culture. Paul guides us through some fabulous tastings and we purchased some wonderful wines to take on the rest of our travels through Europe. The VW van is awesome!!! And a great and unique way to travel around the area-with a great safe driver and guide-Paul! It was just a fantastic afternoon and just the right amount of time. Every wine we tasted was great and we can easily feel that Paul knows well every wine maker he works with. Our experience with Batorama on March 29th was one of the worst customer service experiences we…read morehave ever had while traveling. We purchased tickets for the 1:45 PM boat tour and were instructed to scan a barcode to find the pier location. We were also told the pier name, but at no point did anyone inform us that there were multiple piers operated by the same company. We went to the pier indicated, got in line, and waited over 30 minutes. There were no employees present to guide passengers or verify tickets, and nothing indicated that we might be in the wrong place. When boarding finally began for the boat we had been waiting for, we were abruptly told that our boat had already departed from a different pier -- despite the fact that we were standing in line for a Batorama boat operated by the same company. Instead of offering help or solutions, staff were dismissive and rude, and simply told us to go back to the main office if we wanted to rebook or request a refund. When we returned to the office around 2:00 PM, we encountered an employee named Kavi, whose behavior made an already frustrating situation far worse. We asked if our tickets could be rebooked for a later tour or refunded, given the obvious confusion about the pier locations. Kavi insinuated that we were idiots for not figuring out the location, because other tourist could figure it out. Kavi bluntly stated she could not help us with either option until her manager returned. When we asked when the manager would be back, she responded that she had no idea and that it could be anytime. Throughout the conversation, she spoke in an extremely condescending and dismissive tone, treating us as if we were the problem rather than customers who had been misdirected by the company's own unclear instructions. When I expressed my frustration with the situation, she snapped that she "wakes up at 6:30 every morning to deal with people like you." That racial slur, either against middle eastern or Americans, or both was extremely inappropriate. I reminded her that working with customers is literally her job, especially at a tourism company. I also told her that I didn't appreciate being spoken to as though I were incompetent , I have a doctorate degree, and I certainly don't need to be talked down to by someone refusing to help resolve a simple ticketing issue. After I left, my family members reported that she continued speaking about me and even called me dumb, which was shocking and completely unprofessional. Between the confusing pier system, lack of staff guidance, refusal to offer immediate assistance, and shockingly rude customer service, this experience left a terrible impression. If you want to ruin your trip to Strasbourg, take this tour.

We were able to stop by the office and chat with her and came away very impressed by her integrity and honesty. She was unable to guarantee a guide would be available and provide us with a 100% satisfactory experience so she made the decision not to book our tour. While we were obviously disappointed we respected her decision to not take our money and provide anything less than her ideal of what her company represents. Her concern was for both our and her guides mutual benefit. She was very warm and helpful in suggesting alternatives we could enjoy and self tour by train. Based on our experience with Simone I would absolutely not hesitate to book a tour with Black Forest Tours if we were to return to Freiburg. I am sure it would be an experience that we would cherish forever.

I found Simone through surfing the web and am so glad I did. She's wonderful, caring, and really made sure we had a great time. We instantly connected with her (she used to work around our neighborhood in the States) as if we've known her forever. One thing we really appreciated is that she didn't mind us using our new car instead of hers, which is how she normally conducts her tours. We learned a lot about the Black Forest as Simone is very knowledgeable about its history and the various backstories surrounding it. Every place she took us had a story that's rich and inspiring!
