What sets Angleton's apart from the stationary megastores is their hands-on, personal approach to their customers. At two different companies that I've worked for, I've had to search for quite specific pieces of office stationary or equipment, and after hunting high and low at more local locations, I've ended up buying from Angleton's, who have sourced these difficult to find items from other locations and done all of the hard work for me. Whereas Officework kept me on hold for ages, only to give me the response: "We don't stock that size", Angleton's actually found me what I wanted and did all of the arranging for me. For that reason, Angleton's are the office admin schlep's best friend.

Angleton's is a great little office supply shop that is far easier to deal with. There's just one person to deal with, who knows what they have and where they have it, and the store isn't full of junk that you don't need. Again, maybe a bit odd, but I'm particular about pens. I do believe that they have EVERY pen ever made. Ever. So support the little guy, and do it without spending a mint.

Thankfully we are not talking about the cheap replicants you find in other shops. These are the real deal, manufactured by Herman Miller in the US. I purchased my Eames soft-padded management chair here. It took about 12 weeks for it to be custom made in the US and then make its way across the Pacific down to Melbourne. The order went smoothly and it was clear that the saleswoman was quite knowledgeable and made some excellent recommendations about selecting the right leather. The chair arrived the other week (just as I was promised), looked exactly as I expected and made my home office all that much comfortable. Living Edge's Richmond shop has a nice range of accessories on display (limited stock though, annoyingly most pieces have to be ordered from Europe or the US which takes a few weeks). The Living Edge is not a cheap store by any means, but they only sell originals. I guess the one advantage of buying in Australia is they source the Eames collection from Herman Miller and not Vitra which is the case in Europe. Luckily Herman Miller is a bit cheaper. Living Edge is a great store for anyone interested in browsing classic designed furniture originals, less so for those seeking newer and trendier collections.

This year I had the pleasure of joining the Dedece team in Milan - best experience ever. Minotti possibly the standout with three full floors showcasing their best furniture for 2024, it was HUGE. We also spent a good deal of time with Paola Lenti - their new range also blew me away. Colour is amazing. But the best part of the trip was spending time with all involved , meeting Anna Lenti, the Minotti family, etc. celebrating with them and appreciating all the hard work that goes before this years' presentation.
