Really cool spot with a great vibe. I came here last week for the first time and John took care of me with one of the best haircuts I've had in a while. Very meticulous, takes his time, and clearly cares about his work. Great personality too. Came back today and brought my two sons with me, and John delivered excellent haircuts for both of them as well. I really like a good guys' barbershop. You generally get a better haircut than in a unisex shop because the barbers know how to cut a guy's hair, like shaping and cleaning up your neck, doing a fade, etc. at least one of them is a credentialed Master Barber but I can't remember his name. He can do the things that most barbershops will not do, like nose and ear waxing. They do not take reservations but I have never had to wait long because there are a lot of barbers working. What a cool place! I brought my son in to get a haircut, and was so impressed. Not only are the haircuts awesome, but the guys that work here are all very nice and personable. My son really enjoyed getting to talk to his barber Farzam (and now doesn't want to get a haircut by anyone else!), but Tom the owner clearly had a strong rapport with all his clients too. This place doesn't take appointments, but on busy days, they have 6 barbers taking people on a first-come first-served basis. Dogs are welcome and we had the pleasure of watching Tom's dog Winston while we waited. All round, great haircut, good price, personable staff : everything you want from a barber shop! We have been there for few times and we like Kevin G. He takes his time to do the job very well. He is always keen on the little details that is impressive. The only downside to this place is that they don't take appointments and you end up spending couple of hours sometimes but at the end it's worth waiting because Kevin never disappointed us. Went here couple of weeks ago because the salon that I was going jacked up their prices to 90$ for a haircut, but that was great because I got to go to this place. The one word I would use is "perfect". That was how i felt after getting the hair cut. I went home and did not have to make any changes or trim anything. It has been 2 weeks and still feel that it looks great. I will be going here as long as I am around an hour from this place. And the price is very reasonable at just 35$. Couple of things to remember: 1. You cannot make appointments. Its walk-in only, so I had to wait for 30 minutes or so. But heck, for this haircut, I would wait for 2 hours. Also, I am going to go there when I know I do not have to wait, like mid week. 2. Cash only, no credit cards. I think I saw an ATM machine in the back, but not sure. I took cash with me. I started coming here after being temporarily displaced to OC by the Eaton fire in Altadena. Total silver lining: I discovered Offshore Barber Shop, and I've had three haircuts so far from Lucas, who is really good at what he does. I'm hoping to move back to Altadena soon, but I plan to keep coming down to OC every few weeks so Lucas can cut my hair. With traffic, it's about an hour and 15 minutes each way on the freeway, but completely worth the drive. read more

Decided to give this place a shot as I've seen it since before they opened to now and never popped in. Yes, they're quite a bit out of the way from me, but they seemed to have some cool decor. Popped in, and while there were 3 or 4 guys ahead of me, I got seated in under 5 minutes, which was super quick. Was paired with Damian. Told him what I wanted, half off the top and a taper from short to longer at the sides and back to blend in with the top. He asked what I meant by a taper, so I had to explain its essentially a fade but transitions to longer at the top. He still looked confused, so I said a 1 to a 2 transition until the top. He understood, but that was a strike because I hate giving out numbers and hate explaining basic barber/hair techniques, in my opinion at least. As I was sitting there, I saw a nice, fully stocked glass beverage fridge and, unfortunately, was never offered any. Another smaller strike. Haircut took about 45 minutes to an hour. I didn't hate it when done and left a $15 tip on a $30 haircut because Damian took so much time on it... I could tell he was trying at least. That all said the haircut was similar to what you'd expect for a kid at greatcuts/clips chain salon. It wasn't a men's quality haircut. I should have known this with the $30 price point. While the place isn't awful, it's certain more of a place for a cheap cut i.e. if you want a wiffle cut or basic machine trim, with no texture, etc. It's just not my style. I wish the continued success as a business. read more
