We love this dog park. It's a great place for our Doodle to get out and run, as well as to learn to…read moresocialize with other dogs. Saturday mornings are crazy fun, with a couple dozen dogs running around. This park is about 2 acres in size, with about a third of it being wooded, giving the pups some fun spots to explore. The main area is open, flat, and covered in mulch/wood chips. Unless you don't mind a muddy car, you might want to avoid rainy days. Water isn't provided, so make sure to bring a bowl and water for your dog and 10 of it's closest friends. There are a half dozen benches, and 2 or 3 picnic tables, but they fill up quickly. Most people bring camp chairs to sit in a group and chat with the other doggie parents while the pooches frolic.

This is basically a water retention basin that's normally dry. There is a walkway around it. The people who use this park have taken on a lot of ownership. There was a container with a number of gallon water jugs. There is a container of balls. While we were there a lady showed up with her dogs and a couple water jugs. She refilled all the water bowls. Everyone had well behaved dogs. This is a park that is better then the components of what you see.

However, there's a large walking circle around a giant field and my dog absolutely loves coming here. I walk around while he runs and plays. If no other dogs are here we play fetch to get out some energy. I've only encountered kind, amazing dogs and dog owners. I was a little nervous as my dog was a pretty sketched out teenager puppy still being socialized and everyone was encouraging and welcoming. There's some benches, bowls where you can put water (definitely bring some in the summer), and normally plenty of balls and random toys.

There are several paths you can take, most of them are pretty clearly marked but I could see how people could get lost if they venture off the path. The leaves in the fall were breathtaking with the sun sneaking through the trees as if to spotlight them on the world's stage. Yes, I wax poetic when it comes to nature. I can't help myself. Go see for yourself and you'll do the same. Along with the spectacular array of colors, there's a nice rope swing that someone put up for people to enjoy (thank you to whomever did that!) and a few random forts made out of fallen trees and branches. My inner nine year old was loving every moment of it! The map showed us that we were near a cave, but we struggled to find it. We eventually found one (I think?) but the entrance was cemented over. Maybe there were others, but we gave up and vowed to return again to find them.

This is one of our favorite dog parks! Tanner Park is the perfect place to give your pups some…read moresocial interaction, lots of exercise, and even exercise yourself. It's a really tame hike on the hillside with two opportunities for dogs to play in water, one about halfway down, and a large pond and stream at the end point. There are bags available at the top of the trail, as well as trash cans. It's pretty typical for people to leave their bags in the side of the trail to collect on the way up. There are trees and shade at some points on the trail, but you will be on the sun a lot of the time as you walk along the trail. There are a few benches to sit on along the way if you need to take a rest. There are two parking lots and some street parking a little bit down the street, it's usually busy every time I've gone, but I've never been in a position where I cannot find a parking space. This can vary on the dog, but my dog who really enjoys fetch doesn't need any toys for this dog park, there's so much going on here there's enough for him to do without chasing a ball. The one downside of this park is the trail is gravel, and there are some rocks in the streams and it can be a little rough on dogs with particularly tender paws. Overall I keep bringing my dog, and friends with dogs back to this park - it's a great place for everyone to socialize!

They all seemed like locals and we're not from here, so...when in Rome. We let our dog off her leash too and she had fun exploring and meeting other pups. Pet parents came and went and although a few did keep their dogs on leash, most let their dogs free to play in the little valley of grass together. We only stayed about 30 minutes but we did see a playground and a little amphitheater and what looked like some great walking trails. There was also ample parking and I'm sure there's a lot more to explore at this park.

Take in the epic views of the great salt lake from up high, walk along the coastline of the lake. There hiking trails up the mountains. There are bison all over to explore and photograph, as well as tons of species of birds to watch. If you're lucky you'll spot some Antelope or long horn sheep. Saw lots and local bicyclists, I imagine it wpuld be a blast to ride. You can park at the entrance and ride in at a small parking lot. The drive down the eastern coast is spectacular and if you don't mind a dirt road you can continue for a little further to the southern tip. Or stop at the pavement and check out the ranch that's been there for generations. What a cool place, I am so glad I got to visit an check it out. Ext time I'll stay for an extended period in one of the campgrounds!!

Few tips: There are a lot of dogs here, and 99% of them are off leash. If your dog gets overwhelmed by lots of dogs, this might not be the best place for them. Also, sometimes people see moose here so be mindful of your pups while enjoying your time outdoors.
