    Oktoberfest And The Guacamole Bites
    Steve A.

Checked out this downtown Oregon brewery. It probably is one of the most interesting things about this pretty interesting town. Ogle County Brewery is one of the few places around here to get beers that's not "something Light" or comes in a can filled who knows when. Also a place to get some small bites that's not typical bar food. They have kind of a small selection but there's variety. Bigger than it looks once one gets inside. It's a great use of an old building, and they share it with one of those hardcore gyms with the CrossFit and stuff. The bar is where we got seats, and we got to watch some games on the big TV. Good prices on the craft beers. It's about $6 a pint. Best of these we had was the Oktoberfest. This was malty and sweet, and had a creamy texture. Also there's food. It's about $12 for an appetizer, which is most of what's on the food menu. Had to try the Guacamole Bites. These are avocado, cilantro, lime, onions, and tomatoes in tortilla chips breading, good stuff. Even though the beer selection is kind of limited, there's several styles to choose from. It's got a kitchen along with a menu of appetizers, sandwiches, and more. They're open every weekday along with more hours on weekends.

Friendly service and fun vibe. The flight is a great option to try several beers. My favorite one was the peanut butter beer and I'll remember to get a full pint of that one next time.

Time for an update! This is the most recent time we have tried this place out. We went to vote early since we are election judges, and were assigned outside our own precinct, and I though I'd buy my lovely wife lunch on the way back. This is on a busy corner. We managed to grab parking in front. We were allowed to sit where we wanted, and picked a table. The server came out and grabbed our drink order, which included a soft drink for my wife, and a Paddy Whacker beer, which was an Irish Ale. It was a little more hoppy than I like in my Irish Ales, but it wasn't too bad otherwise. I ordered a Brisket Sandwich, and my wife had their veggie flatbread. The Brisket Sandwich was served with a slight upcharge fries in place of chips. It was a little chewy, but tasted good. The fries were fresh. My wife enjoyed her Veggie Flatbread. I got to try a piece of it, and it tasted pretty darn good. The bathrooms are shared with the health club next door, and were both clean and up to date. The décor of the restaurant has many eye catching things to look at while you are there, so take a moment and look around. Even the ceiling has interesting details to look at. We enjoyed our lunch.

My kind of brewery. Ogle has been on my radar for a couple years but Oregon is slightly off our path. After stopping in, I'd go out of my way to come back! Ogle has a modest tap list with a dozen varied choices. There's a little bit here for everyone, and most of their crafts sounded good. As I was driving I only had two, but I was very happy with both. The first was Sanguine Tears, a red Irish ale with toffee and caramel hints. Lighter weight, this one was a really good started beer and one I could have sat and had several glasses of. My second glass was Choco-Latte which goes down super easy. Amazing flavor in this stout nitro containing coffee, chocolate, vanilla and cacao nibs. This is as chocolatey of a beer as I've ever had, and I've had hundreds. I was really tempted to buy a growler..not sure if they do those here or not. We were here for food as well and the Hawaiian flatbread was really damn good. There food and beer menu's have some great choices, many of which I need to come back and try. Great work OCB, you nailed it! Cheers!

Its an old, renovated building, with lots of exposed brick. Very friendly bartenders, and their personal craft beers are very good, with lots of flavor and creativity. The food menu is extensive, with sandwiches, apps, flatbreads, pizzas and desserts. Everything we had, the smoked gouda bites, the totchos (tater tot nachos), the bavarian brew pretzel, and the brewhaus roman pizza, was really, really good! We will most definitely be back!

We were the first customers in one day. They were OUT OF BURGERS. Service was good, but we will Never Be Back. Ever.

Other than having to deal with a freight train that stopped on the tracks right as we were trying to get to the restaurant from the theater, and having to go way out to the west end of town to get around it, everything about our experience was superb! I'm pretty sure we were seated by the owner, who was amazing to talk to. You could tell she loved what she did and what they provide to their customers. She put us in the charge of the bartender, who brought our drinks, took our orders, and checked on us regularly throughout the meal, even though she was doing double duty. We had a large lunch, so we weren't going to eat much for dinner. As soon as I read the menu I realized I was going to have a hard time deciding, but I love cinnamon ice cream, so I knew I needed to leave enough room for dessert. I ended up ordering the grilled cheese, which came with bacon (hold the tomato), and the homemade chips as my side. Everything was delicious. I brought half of my meal home, and it was just as delicious when reheated with my air fryer a few days later. My husband had the Acres Pretzel, which was huge and yummy. (I had a bite to try it!) The cheese sauce with it was thinner than expected, but very good. We started out with a Manhattan for me and some Lena Brewing caramel pecan coffee stout for him. Mine was perfectly crafted, and I took a sip of his, which was also yummy. In addition to my cinnamon ice cream, we each had a dessert drink. He had the Chocolate Caramel Kiss, and I had the Banana Bread. Again, very yummy. The cost of all of this came to under $75, which we thought was marvelous. Coming out from the city, the prices here are definitely more reasonable and much appreciated! We have this restaurant on our radar now, so anytime we are out this way again, we will head there. We are already making plans to come out and see a show next summer, if not before that. To the owner and all the other staff, thanks for such a lovely experience! You have a wonderful establishment!

The entrance is a little hard to find as you have to walk thru a small boutique store to enter the restaurant. Fortunately for us,a nice lady who worked in the store came out and took us to the restaurant. I believe they are all owned by the same person We were lucky enough to get a table on their ekevated patio that overlook the alley garden. Alyssa was our server and was super helpful and friendly. My wife started with their Lemon Lavender Gin Spritz which was one of the many crafted cocktails they offer. I had a nice white wine blend that was suggested off their extensive wine list. We shared the Bruschetta Burrata with toast on the side as my wife is Gluten free. Super fresh and very tasty. They offer many made from scratch sandwiches and entrees along with a few daily specials A real hidden gem located in Rochelle on Lincoln Highway.
