After my race, I figured I'd finally get a drink, but wanted to try something new. I wouldn't mind staying here longer and trying more things, but alot of the parking spots say 2 hour limit and I saw a few patrols. To make the most of my time, I ordered a flight (Cider, Root Beer, Light and IPA). The Cider tasted just like the name suggested, IPA is my fave type of drink and Light helped prevent me from going to crazy. I had high expectations from the Rootbeer Float one, but didn't expect it to be one of those dark, tobacco tasting beers (didn't finish). For my meal, I got a burger with all the works and chips. It will do, the only note is the mustard packets must be very old because it was hardened and wouldn't squeeze out. Oh, for the flights, pay attention to your cups, one of them chipped away and could've easily been swallowed. Wasn't too chatty after the race, but the one guy working was cool! read more

Checked out this downtown Oregon brewery. It probably is one of the most interesting things about this pretty interesting town. Ogle County Brewery is one of the few places around here to get beers that's not "something Light" or comes in a can filled who knows when. Also a place to get some small bites that's not typical bar food. They have kind of a small selection but there's variety. Bigger than it looks once one gets inside. It's a great use of an old building, and they share it with one of those hardcore gyms with the CrossFit and stuff. The bar is where we got seats, and we got to watch some games on the big TV. Good prices on the craft beers. It's about $6 a pint. Best of these we had was the Oktoberfest. This was malty and sweet, and had a creamy texture. Also there's food. It's about $12 for an appetizer, which is most of what's on the food menu. Had to try the Guacamole Bites. These are avocado, cilantro, lime, onions, and tomatoes in tortilla chips breading, good stuff. Even though the beer selection is kind of limited, there's several styles to choose from. It's got a kitchen along with a menu of appetizers, sandwiches, and more. They're open every weekday along with more hours on weekends. read more

There were four of us in our party. My husband had the brisket pizza. We would come back for that alone. The rest of us were really disappointed. Sushi, Frachos and the fish were not really enjoyed. It was a Sunday afternoon and you could tell it had just been busy or they were just short handed. Lots of tables that needed bussed. Time for an update! This is the most recent time we have tried this place out. We went to vote early since we are election judges, and were assigned outside our own precinct, and I though I'd buy my lovely wife lunch on the way back. This is on a busy corner. We managed to grab parking in front. We were allowed to sit where we wanted, and picked a table. The server came out and grabbed our drink order, which included a soft drink for my wife, and a Paddy Whacker beer, which was an Irish Ale. It was a little more hoppy than I like in my Irish Ales, but it wasn't too bad otherwise. I ordered a Brisket Sandwich, and my wife had their veggie flatbread. The Brisket Sandwich was served with a slight upcharge fries in place of chips. It was a little chewy, but tasted good. The fries were fresh. My wife enjoyed her Veggie Flatbread. I got to try a piece of it, and it tasted pretty darn good. The bathrooms are shared with the health club next door, and were both clean and up to date. The décor of the restaurant has many eye catching things to look at while you are there, so take a moment and look around. Even the ceiling has interesting details to look at. My kind of brewery. Ogle has been on my radar for a couple years but Oregon is slightly off our path. After stopping in, I'd go out of my way to come back! Ogle has a modest tap list with a dozen varied choices. There's a little bit here for everyone, and most of their crafts sounded good. As I was driving I only had two, but I was very happy with both. The first was Sanguine Tears, a red Irish ale with toffee and caramel hints. Lighter weight, this one was a really good started beer and one I could have sat and had several glasses of. My second glass was Choco-Latte which goes down super easy. Amazing flavor in this stout nitro containing coffee, chocolate, vanilla and cacao nibs. This is as chocolatey of a beer as I've ever had, and I've had hundreds. I was really tempted to buy a growler..not sure if they do those here or not. We were here for food as well and the Hawaiian flatbread was really damn good. There food and beer menu's have some great choices, many of which I need to come back and try. We were the first customers in one day. They were OUT OF BURGERS. Service was good, but we will Never Be Back. Ever.

Stopped in with a group of 8 after a hike. All staff that we encountered on our visit were great. I also thought it was amazing that they brought us a Brita pitcher of water to the table. Our group ordered sandwiches and Flatbreads for the most part. Everyone was happy with their food and it came out quickly. Good was served on paper plates so I was worried would be bland. My chicken sandwich was very flavorful. I had the Octoberfest beer. To me it was only ok. The food was better than the beer. Definitely would recommend if you are in the area. read more

This review is for a time period of about a year or more of our group making this our weekend go-to, get-together place to hang out. The place has a very good ambiance, service isn't bad, and the food looks like average bar food (which we avoided), since we really only came for the beer. With that said, drinking their many brewed/crafted beers over a period of a year and a half, we eventually found 2/3 of our group had been experiencing some very noticeable gastrointestinal problems, including myself, but we all were not aware that the others in our group were also having the same and similar issues, i.e. near explosive diarrhea, strong gastrointestinal upset, etc. We very nicely notified management several times, but they completely ignored us. The home brewed beers here were making us noticeably sick, and alternative beers were not available, so we stopped going. Very sad! read more

Its an old, renovated building, with lots of exposed brick. Very friendly bartenders, and their personal craft beers are very good, with lots of flavor and creativity. The food menu is extensive, with sandwiches, apps, flatbreads, pizzas and desserts. Everything we had, the smoked gouda bites, the totchos (tater tot nachos), the bavarian brew pretzel, and the brewhaus roman pizza, was really, really good! You may be tempted to visit because it's a convenient location on the main drag. But look elsewhere. We made a mistake. Adding to the fact that it was a warm day, this place apparently has no a/c and it is uncomfortable. Adding to that discomfort are the menu offerings, which, at best, are undisguised frozen soft pretzels, frozen mini corndogs ugh, and frozen fish and chips. And to call it "fish" is an insult to every swimming creature! More like a plateful of tiny planks of soggy brownish fish-like disks. The beer? For a brewery, "mediocre" is a generous review. Not cold, and it fell short on the taste scale. This place is a nicely designed brewery that just disappoints on just about every level and doesn't do justice to Oregon, a quaint town. Service is friendly, we can say that. Oh, and the hot mustard was nice even though the pretzel was a twisted piece of undercooked dough. Prices are unnecessarily high for what they offer. Wonderful! My mom and I came in just after Christmas Day for lunch. Lively bar, awesome decor. We had the Southwest chicken sandwich and brisket sandwich with waffle fries. Wow, these were hot and terrific sandwiches. The bartender makes a mean jalapeño vodka Bloody Mary and I could have drank several. Their apple bottom beer, brewed about 20 feet away, was crisp and refreshing. Only one server was working, but she was an absolute pro. Our food came out quickly and she was super responsive to whatever we needed. Everything about the experience was enjoyable and I can't wait to return! read more

Very cute building!! The vibe is great. Beers are ok, but the food/pizza oven smell is OVERWHELMING. We planned to eat here but left after one drink because we couldn't take the smell. It's definitely got great possibilities but they need to fix the ventilation. We came right after they opened (drove an hour) and had a similar experience but came back after they had a chance to work out the kinks. We won't be back. Stopped in on a chilly Saturday afternoon to warm up and grab some lunch. Seating was open, we were greeted before even grabbing a table. The server was polite and busy. We received menu's instantly along with our drink orders. I tried a nice amber that was satisfying to the pallet and not overly heavy. I had a second with my meal. I found the beer selection to be limited if you are not into mixing fruits into your beers. We received our food orders quickly. I had the wings, lemon-pepper dry rub. They were nice and crispy, full of flavor, maybe a bit overboard on the spice for my taste, but all very consistent and satisfying. We also had an order of loaded fries topped with cheese and brisket. Very filling and very hot. The fries were well cooked and the brisket had a good flavor. Our wait staff was prompt, thanked us for stopping in and wished us well on our trip. I will return when back in the area. Looking forward to trying a different beer. read more

I just had the crab cakes here OMG the greatest. Keep in mind that they are not your stereotypical crab cakes but they are worth the venture. Crabcake is more of a fritter but it is also on a bed of spring mix greens and lobster claw bits. It was drizzled with true chipotle drizzle with a little actual heart. Maybe only go for the beer? Big mistake going here for lunch. We were there almost 2 hours! Even arrived early, before 11:30. All that time to get 2 pretzels, two orders of tacos (the day's special) and 6 little shrimp on a skewer. Food was marginal, nothing special just 'bar food', but at an average of $15 per entree, not cheap. Hard to tell which one needs more training, the Cook or the Waitress. The cook apparently doesn't buy into the concept of everyone at the table getting their food at the same time. Waitress only able to manage one task per visit and moved at the speed of a sloth... Waited 15 minutes for the menu, another 15 minutes later to take the order, another 10 minutes later the two very flat sodas come because she was 'busy changing out the machine'. The 2 pretzels arrived 30 minutes later, another 15 minutes later along comes the tacos, but still no shrimp.... Another 20 minutes later the shrimp finally arrives. The waitress didn't seem too concerned. Of course, after 1-1/2 hours of waiting, filling up on soda and eating off of everyone else's plate, we no longer wanted the shrimp, we just wanted to leave. Funniest part was she kept coming back throughout the wait saying 'How is everything?" (but we didn't have 'everything'.) We would have laughed if we had not been so frustrated. Finally, had to go up to the bar and ask for the ticket because we didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for it. Instead of taking my payment, handed me the ticket, turned around and left me standing there at the bar while she moved about waiting on others, puttering around, ignoring me for another 10 minutes. The ultimate insult?? Over $70!!! For 2 pretzels, six very tiny tacos, 6 very tiny shrimp and 3 sodas!! There wasn't even any alcohol ordered. Outrageous. Ridiculous. Insane. I'm sure the Lucky Charms green beer is great....just don't go there expecting "lunch". read more

We had the wings and chicken marinara flatbread. The wings were really good. The flatbread was less than inspiring. We asked for salt & pepper as that would have helped the flatbread, only to be told "we're out of salt & pepper". Really? A restaurant with no salt & pepper? Okaaay. My date tried a couple of beers and seemed to enjoy them. I started with their peach slushy, which supposedly had pinto grio wine in it. Didn't taste any alcohol. Next I tried the pina colada. Yuck! Tasted like it was from a really bad mix, and again, seemed to have no alcohol in it. Couldn't drink it, and our waitress was kind enough to take it off our bill. We arrived about 4:15 on a Saturday afternoon and seated ourselves at a table. The waitress arrived quickly with menus and took our drink orders. We both had spicy bloody mary's. After our drinks arrived we ordered: surf and turf for my husband and brisket flatbread for me. The food was served very quickly. The steak kabobs in the surf and turf were hot, perfectly cooked, and flavorful. The shrimp kabobs (surf) were hot, well seasoned, and done very well, not a hint of the rubbery finish that is sometimes a problem with restaurant shrimp. My flatbread was topped with slices of very tender brisket, caramelized onions, cheese, and the house OCB sauce, which was a sort of Buffalo-style barbecue sauce. The flatbread was cooked to a pizza style finish, a bit crisp on the outside and chewy inside. On a previous visit my husband had the wings, which were served with a delicious homemade tasting blue cheese dressing. Nice atmosphere, attentive waitstaff, quick service, delicious food. Super friendly staff, easy to park nearby, nice atmosphere with open garage door. The raspberry seltzer drink recommended by the wait staff was just right for a summer day, not too strong and very refreshing. Portion sizes are generous. My health conscious friend loved the margarita flatbread, then ate all my chips! The chicken sandwich was good, different from other menus.
