I went to Ohana after a recommendation from a colleague. I initially thought I needed a new O2 censor, and they discovered that it was the valve cover that was causing the leak and needed to be replaced. They were nice. Shortly after the cover repair, I discovered a serious oil leak in my garage. I ended up taking it to the Chevy dealership and they said that the valve cover install was faulty. The tone for my entire experience was set the very first day I took my car for a diagnostic, but I still tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and an opportunity to prove me wrong about the first impression I got from them. I dropped my car off between 10/10:30am and explained I wasn't sure if it was a fuel line issue or a misfire. I was told to give them about an hour or 2 to complete the diagnostic and someone would give me a call. I waited until about 3pm for a call that never came so I called to follow up. I was told it was a misfire due to a leaking head and they were trying to locate parts and get a quote to my warranty company and would give me a call back shortly. That call also never came so I went back up there to see if I could just drop the car back off the following day. I was then told by Phillip that if I did that the warranty company would deny my claim, which I found out later from Fidelity that his assumption was false. I was also told that the repair would take 2-3 days max and that they had already done this same job earlier in the month on another Honda and that it wasn't a long process, about a 16hr job. I received a call the next morning from Phillip saying that he couldn't get anyone on the phone from the warranty number and wanting to know if I had a number for them. I gave him the number and he stated he would give me a call back once he talked to them, that call never came. I called back the following day and he told me the adjuster had come out the previous day and saw everything Onana saw and told them the claim would be approved and that they would receive an email. Okay great I thought that sounded awesome and was a relief to hear. I was then told I'd have my car back the following week. The following week came and I was told the email hadn't come through so I called the warranty company myself to confirm and they received the email on that Tuesday. Again I thought great news until Thursday when I called and my car still had not been touched at all and was told they were still waiting for parts. 2-3 days had turned into over a week by this time. I was then told I could expect my vehicle the following week. I reached out that Monday to check to see if any repairs were started and overheard them asking in the background "when are y'all going to start on that Honda." I was then told that parts had been delivered, but there was another car ahead of mine so they wouldn't be starting on it until the following day. I expressed my concerns about the time that had already passed and my car still hadn't been touched and was assured it wouldn't take another week and to expect my car by Thursday if everything goes smoothly. The following day came and instead of calling I had my fiancé to pass by on his way home from work. They had closed for the day and guess what, as he passed by my car was still sitting in the same place untouched. we have now reached 2 weeks at this point. I called Wednesday and was assured that my car was being worked on, everything was going smooth so far and that I would have it by the weekend and also that Phillip would give me a call the following day with an update. For the first time through the whole process he actually kept his word and called. In his voicemail he stated the heads were good and they would be finishing up the following day, a check had been cut and that I would be all set. Friday comes and I'm excited thinking I would get my car back, but time is passing and no its ready call has come through so I called and was told the mechanic has left for lunch and that it probably wouldn't be ready until the following week and I lost it. I had been lied to over and over at this point and brushed off. He told me he would call when they finished up Monday and that call also never came. After 3 rental car extensions and several lies I still had to be the one to call them to see if they were finished with my vehicle. He lets me know it's ready and I scurry to find a ride to pick my car up because it's nearing 4pm, they close at 5 & it's almost a 40 minute drive. I finally make it to pick my car up and he tells me that the warranty company paid for everything except my oil filter, which I know because it's in my contract. They tacked on an extra $130+ dollars to MY out of pocket expense for a credit card processing fee for the $3400 payment they received DIRECTLY FROM THE WARRANTY COMPANY, completely insane. Only good thing that came out of this was having a warranty company to cover most of the bill because I couldn't imagine having to give someone that much money out of pocket after being constantly strung along and lied to for weeks. I'm still out of money from their bogus processing fee, not being able to work my side gig and paying for extra car rental days since 3 days is actually nearly 3 weeks according to their time frame. I was passing through the area and had hit an obstruction in the highway . I was concerned about driving my car further without having it checked . I stopped in at Ohana Auto and they were very thorough, friendly and honest . I didn't have damage to the vehicle and was told that is was safe to drive further . I asked what I owed them and there was no charge . I appreciated knowing that I could drive my vehicle and I trusted their opinion . I had a woman sitting in the waiting area say that they were the best in town ! I would bring my vehicles to them any time I needed service if I lived closer ! I cannot repeat enough, TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! A good mechanic is like finding an excellent doctor! These people are very good and very hometown even though they are from Hawaii! Russell is a great a mechanic who will not steer you wrong! I've never ever encountered a mechanic who tells me how to get an issue fixed cheaper than with him! These people are honest and as family oriented as it gets! I have trusted them time and time again not only with my own car, but with my kids cars! And that means a lot to me! They are honest and very reasonable with their prices! Meaning, they are not trying to pay rent off of one customer! I love this place and Sheree and Russell are the only people I'll take my car to! A terrific experience. My 20-year-old Taurus was having weird electrical issues; the heater fan was out, the dome light stayed on and the check engine light was on. I thought my battery was dead. I charged it still wouldn't crank so I thought starter or Alternador was bad. Had it towed. they called said it was battery. $300+ later I drive my new car home and employee drives my old car after me. he told me I needed Air Filter and other stuff I told him I would get it. employee said it was not driving good and I didn't think anything about it cause it was driving great the other day. go to put new air filter in and a bunch of acorns are under my Air Filter. car is garage kept. how could that happened. I will use this shop going forward. Had another place tell me my ac compressor was bad and it would be 1500$. Not a bad place but they didn't do any test to get to the root cause. Ohana actually did diagnostics and found the issue was a 75$ relay. They had me out in under an hour for 100$.
