The crown jewel being their Liberty Playground which is great for toddlers to preteens. It has a generous section for a mini-town, complete with is fire station, traffic light, pedestrian crossing etc. Of note, clean restrooms by the kids area enhances the experience. The soccer field is gorgeous....and well maintained. Tennis courts are fantastic....and well maintained. Excellent baseball fields, multiple....are well maintained. Swimming pool for kids and adults....look great although I haven't benefited from it. The walking areas connecting all the above to independence branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library are paved with lush green grass and colorful floral arrangements with a lot of attention owing laid to landscaping. The Elmwood pond within the grounds of the park is a serene place to sit by. I've had the pleasure of visiting there many times with family, a generation up and also a generation down. We all love sitting there, chatting, snacking,in a peaceful environment in awe of the ducks, geese and if we're lucky, seeing the blue herons that come by there.

One thing to mention- you definitely don't want to miss Mill Creek falls. It's the TALLEST waterfall in the county. However, it's a little bit of a walk from the nature reserve parking lot (I think it took us like 40 min), and my only complaint is that the trail spits you out onto the road for a bit, but then connects you to another trail that takes you to the waterfall. (I wish it was more continuous). You can also drive there since there's a small parking lot near the falls as well.

Although it might appear like an overgrown plot, allowing nature to take back this area provides visitors with an abundance of wildlife. You'll see a variety of birds, trees and very steep hills. Although the paths are paved I wouldn't consider all of them handicap accessible. However, directly next to the picnic tables is a pond with plenty of turtles and fish. There aren't any grills but there is a restaurant called Park Place at the entrance. However, these paths are not shaded nor easy to navigate. One of the first hills was so steep it takes even an advanced hiker a minute or two to catch ones breath. But it's worth the climb, you really can't beat the view!

We did see several signs numbered for golf holes...but, it would have been interesting to follow the layout of the old course. (Also wondered what the metal structure was that goes down one of the slopes...looks like an old "incline" track for trolley car?) TENNIS COURTS -- I arrived to play tennis. There are about 8 tennis courts which is plenty for a park. When I arrived around 4pm, there were people playing tennis and about 5 courts open. The tennis courts are all hard surface and it felt good to play on them. The nets seemed well kept as well. I have no complaints about the conditions of the court. The park itself has a big grassy field that sits on a hill just across from the tennis courts. I heard that there used to be a swimming pool here but that has since been removed. I didn't get to walk around the other side of the park. PROS -- Clean park with plenty of tennis courts. CONS -- There aren't many benches to sit on by the big grassy field and I didn't see any swings or play activities for kids. I don't have kids but I'm assuming that families with kids would prefer a park with swings or slides. Well, now that I think about it, there are benches by a big open structure in the ground which I hear will become a man-made pond soon. Be careful if you bring kids here because they may easily slide down and fall into it.
