DO NOT BUY- THIS IS A SCAM! ILLEGITAMATE! UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR! Bought a groupon, scheduled the course a month ago and the staff never showed up, this business is a joke, working out of a crappy garage in a bad location. They sent unprofessional/rude auto-generated emails. NO advance warning of a cancellation, never bothered to call me back. We drove an hour and took off time from work to attend the class and there was no one there, stood outside freezing waiting for someone who never showed. The business didn't answer their phone, another lady showed up for the class and she said she has been trying to take the class since August and they keep rescheduling. Luckily, Groupon refunded the cost of the class. My daughter was so disappointed, this person obviously doesn't care about people, their lives and wants to get paid without working. Should be in jail, what a con!

Please read reviews before you waste any money with this business. Go to glass bubble project or glass asylum instead. The owner is shockingly rude and refuses to give refunds. The class I had booked with a friend was cancelled (which seems like a common theme) but this time was for COVID, obviously that's no problem I totally understand that. Then for 3 weeks no classes similar were available to be rebooked. So I emailed (because my friend had emailed and got no response for 3 weeks) asking if there were going to be more of the specific class I had originally booked and if not we would like a refund rather than a credit. The response I got was "have you checked again"...yeah I've checked multiple times over the last 3 weeks and then was actively checking as I'm reading his email response... no classes. So I'm not sure if he thought he uploaded them and didn't? But maybe checking yourself when a customer is saying there's no stained glass classes would be useful? Something like "oh sorry we were waiting on our artist to recover from COVID, I'll be uploading classes today" would've been okay and I wouldn't have thought twice about that. Instead he chooses to be condescending and rude. The customer service is horrific, truly. If I could give negative stars I would. Just to summarize, my friend and I are just out a little over $300 and his recommendation is to take it up with your bank because he's not willingly giving a refund.... just to make it a little more difficult on you (: please go somewhere else.

My wife got a Groupon for Ohio City Glass to use when we were in Cleveland for my birthday. With COVID the classes are smaller than I guess they were before. We however got lucky and were one of the first groups of the day and it was just the two of us so we were able to relax and take our time a bit more than I would imagine if there were more people. The instructor was very informative and very safe. We had a lot of fun and I attached the items we made, with the pumpkin there was the option to attempt the stem on our own or have the instructor do it for us, we had him do it so it would look good but the rest was mainly us. My wife made the pumpkin and I made the pyramid. Would totally do it again. If you are interested I would recommend contacting through their Facebook because he will give you deals about the same or he said some times better than Groupon, bc Groupon takes a big portion from the deals but it helps get the word out for the business.

Understandable, but not when they refuse to answer customers emails and messages. What a disappointment.

It took my girlfriend and I about 7 months to actually get into a class at Ohio City Glass (using our Groupon). We finally got into one for the Sunday, July 24th 2016. 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Class. Ohio City Glass emailed me a few days prior to confirm the appointment. When we showed up that Sunday, there was a note on the door saying class was canceled. Could they not email the customers to tell them it was canceled??? It's August 2nd now, and they have yet to respond to my multiple emails. I see on Yelp and Facebook that they have been doing this to other people as well. They have been accepting the Groupons, and scheduling, but then hanging up a sign on their door listing various reasons for being closed. We were super excited to learn glassblowing, but now unfortunately for are now going to Groupon for a refund.

I opted to make a flower, while my daughter planned to create a flower-shaped ring holder as a surprise gift for her sister, who loves rings. Those were the options given to us by the instructor. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the long wait--20 days--for our pieces to arrive, especially since we paid $25 for shipping. I had to email the owner to remind her to send them out. She was apologetic, and the pieces eventually arrived. However, to our dismay, my daughter's piece turned out to be just a flower, a beautiful flower, but not the ring holder she asked to make with the guidance of her instructor. The instructor was with her every step and guided her through the entire process, but seemed to forget the goal of making it into a ring holder which was an option given to us. I reached out to the owner to explain the situation, but there was no acknowledgment of the mistake or any indication of how it might be corrected. Overall, we were left disappointed.

My mom is impossible to shop for, so I was super excited when I came across this Mother's Day special on the Akron Glass Works Facebook page. It is a beautiful old church converted into and art space right off of the University of Akron campus. There were about 12 people total with two instructors for the group. They gave a demonstration and then thoroughly went over all the steps with an emphasis on safety. I was a little nervous working with molten hot glass, but the professionalism of the instructors set me at ease. They're by your side the whole time... but you're actually creating the piece yourself. I have been to other glass blowing studios where the instructors are so hands-on, that you feel like you took no part in the entire process. Not this place. I definitely felt like I was making something and they were just there to make sure I didn't burn my hand off. The whole process took less than an hour and our pieces were available for pickup the next day. We each got to make two glass flowers which all turned out beautifully. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something different to do! We had such a great time!

They offer visual and creative arts classes for people of all ages and skill levels. Shortly after learning about Art House I signed up for a six week pottery on the wheel class. I had never used a pottery wheel before, and I really enjoyed it (even though I'm not too great at it). The instructor, Billy Ritter, was fantastic. Really helpful, friendly and laid back. He is also very diplomatic with his comments on our less than perfect creations throughout the weeks. I took the class solo but was really happy with the group setting and made friends with the other people in the class. I also attended a glass mosaic class that was a good time. Art House offers a large variety of classes for adults, kids and kids with family members, and open studio time for ceramics as well. These would make excellent gifts! The classes are also great if you're looking to do something on your own or with friends. Art House offers summer programs for kids, birthday parties, etc. AH has a large variety of things to offer and they change/update them every few months. AH currently offers monthly "Sippin' in the Studio" single night classes in which they provide a few glasses of vino to get your creativity flowing and range from glass mosaics to jewelry making.
