DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!! They misdiagnosed my cat and have been prescribing dog meds for my cat…read morethis whole time. I have given this place so much money for them to waste my time. I have been giving my cat ear drops for months and it was the wrong medication. Waste of my time and my money...not to mention I am a college student with no money who just wants to help my cat. And I know other people who have had similar experiences with this place.

Marshall and his crew were a heartbreaking disappointment. After weeks of discussing the decision…read moreto have our dog put down, we finally decided that it was time. The next day we called to schedule an appointment with Athens Veterinary Clinic. We called as soon as they opened at 9am and asked some questions. The woman that answered the phone said their schedule was completely full that day but if we'd like, they could do an emergency procedure after hours for an additional $100. I told her we would like to do that and asked if we could set it up for 4:30. She said yes. We then went about the rest of our day coming to terms with the decision we were about to make. We took her on some walks, cooked her a steak for her last meal and made sure that her last day with us was a good one. At 4:05pm the vet office called and asked us if we were still coming in. They told us that we had the time wrong and they close at 4pm and they weren't sure why we would think it was for 4:30. I had appointments all day until 4:30 and never would've scheduled for 4 because I knew we couldn't make it in time. We went back and forth for a while. How rude she was, the heartlessness in what she said, and the tone in which she said it was mind blowing. And it ended with, "we're wrapping up with our last patient in 5 minutes so you need to be here by then." I said "I won't be rushed in to killing my dog. We'll be there at 4:30 like we scheduled or you're cancelling on us. She said, "then we're cancelling." I can't express what we felt at that time. Coming to the realization that all the emotions that we had gone through for the previous 24 hours was all for nothing. And then realizing we would have to go through it all over again once we rescheduled. The next day I called the clinic to talk to Marshall. The woman that answered the phone told me that Marshall said he would not be talking to me and we were no longer allowed back as patients because of my behavior and because I didn't show up for a scheduled appointment. Athens Vet scheduled this appointment wrong, blamed me for it, cancelled on us as we were putting our dog in to the car and then kicked my family out as patients. We now had to find a vet that could do this procedure for us that had never seen our dog as a patient before. And after having made the difficult decision to say goodbye to a member of the family, I have a new found disgust for Marshall and his team. They understand the emotions behind a decision like this and they didn't care one bit. They were just mad that it inconvenienced them and they took it out on us during this time of grief. I actually spoke with Marshall directly a few days later to try to express our feelings and get his perspective on the situation. He repeatedly said, "I'm sorry you feel that way but we didn't do anything wrong." I will never recommend this clinic to anyone.

After going to several other local vets they are the only vet that helped me with my diabetic dog…read more They didn't charge me the hundreds of dollars a month the other vets wanted. They were so extremely helpful with the entire process and after helping me for over a year when i felt she was done fighting they helped me with her passing. They are always helpful with the many drop off cats i have to help. My only complaint is not being able to fix strays without all their shots so it gets expensive.

The vetanarrian has even swabbed his ear and sent it off to make sure they are giving him the right medication. We asked if they are sure it was the correct one They said yes. If it doesn't work bring him back. I'm thinking their pockets must be empty. If you can't help the suffering animal in 3 attempts how can I trust you again? It's hundreds of dollars for an ear infection please. I would hate to see what happens if it's an even bigger issue. It's insane the price that a veteranian charges any more. It is obscene. I wonder if they charge by the attachment we have for our fur babies. I love my fur baby very much but do we have to sign over our automobiles and real estate to them? After this one passes away there will not be any more in our home. Their groomer will not ever touch him again either She came out to the lobby to get him. He has never seen her before. No greeting nothing she just grabbed a hold of his leash and dragged him to the back. She had the nerve to charge extra because he snapped at her. If she would done that to me I would have taken a chunk out of her. It makes me wonder what she did behind closed doors. She has no business around animals unless it's an alligator.

Empathy, and compassion are much needed here. We had an emergency with our Maltese and our vet(vca)…read morewas closed on an operating day with no message, no note posted to door, no phone message nothing. (This vet seems to always be closed so don't ever assume they are open) so we had to take him some where else, he was up for yearly check so we let the emergency vet do it since we were already there. When it came time to refill his medicine he needs to live, they gave us the wrong one and lucky we noticed and took it back. Then a few weeks later we went to get his prescription dog food and they refused to give it to us until we did the yearly update with them, we told them what happened and that we had that done somewhere else because of his emergency and they were closed. They did not care and were so rude and refused to even SELL us his food. We were trying to give them money so they weren't loosing our business completely. They just wanted us to spend several hundred dollars for a check up we just did and could have faxed to them or even got the paperwork to show as proof and they did not care. We will never go back and since this are with a new vet. Here is the thing..... the way they made us feel about our baby(pretty much child) was HELPLESS because he has to have that food no other kind and that medicine to live is unacceptable and beyond belief. Hopefully they can put what really matters and THEIR job first and not greed and remember why they chose this field. Do better......
