I feel secure here as I am a veteran of the United States Armed Forces. I was treated way better here than anywhere else.

The lovely staff…read morehere absolutely adores their little four-legged friends and the volunteers are superstars, too! I was able to walk around without being nannied. I was encouraged to play with the fur babies. And when we decided on a bonded pair of senior brothers who look more bovine than feline, WE were the ones treated like rock stars. Being able to get nearly all the essentials there with a teeny-tiny price tag was a sigh of relief and that money goes back into the shelter, too. If you or your charges have sensory issues, I would recommend ear protection as it does get loud, but that's just par for the course at nearly all shelters. This place is the real deal!

This church is located in Berea in a small shopping complex. My friend Gabby and I arrived for the 11:45am service which was a late service but I didn't get ready in time for the earlier services. There are 2 other services on Sundays are 8:45am and 10:15am. CHURCH SERVICE -- Service started with praise and worship time which is common to most churches. That lasted for about 30 minutes. Then the pastor delivered the message which was about sharing the Christian faith to others. I loved how the message had a question and answer session. So everyone got a piece of paper to answer certain questions pertaining to the pastor's message. Answering those questions for me really allowed me to delve deeper into my own personal faith. Renew is a non-denominational Christian Church filled with young people, families, and couples. The church isn't as diverse as I would have liked because the majority of people who attend are caucasian (white) but everyone I met was nice. I loved that they have a tea section inside so I grabbed a cup of tea before entering the sanctuary. I would not mind visiting again. **** - 81 total reviews in 2019 - 290 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 31 May 2019

The staff members were nice and patient when you could get a chance to talk with them. The challenge was a lot of people visiting and staff being taken up made that a challenge. But this is regarding puppies, so hard to blame them for a big rush of dog lovers. I feel it is important to provide some perspective on the pricing. While I generally do not have an issue with paying a premium for top quality service and products(sorry, not a great way to label a potential family pet with traditional wording), the markup here is significant. I was quoted over $5,000 for a puppy that can be found through trusted, local certified breeders for $1,200 or less. That's a terrible mark up for a family pet just because they come with a package of food, toys, and warranty. While the convenience of a mall location and the included starter kit is a nice touch, a price difference of several thousand dollars is difficult to overlook. I would recommend that anyone looking for a specific breed also research local certified breeders in the area to ensure they are making a financially sound decision. As a dog lover that would have made the same day purchase for a fair price, I'm heavily disappointed that several of these puppies may not go home with a loving family due to such a significant markup. Beautiful puppies, well maintained store, and helpful staff, but the cost makes a visit incredibly heartbreaking.

Most places have friendly and helpful staff to assist you in choosing the right potential pet. Unfortunately, Berea ARF is NOT like most places. As a pet owner for most of my life (I'm 68 years old), I've never had any issues with adopting my pets. The staff at Berea ARF are rude, arrogant, and condescending. Their policies are questionable. Our two encounters with them resulted in our being placed on a blacklist - we are now banned from adopting from them. The first incident was a miscommunication regarding declawing - we told the counselor that we did indeed have prior cats declawed, but we no longer adhered to that choice. He took it to mean we were going to declaw any future cat. After going on and on about the effects of declawing (yes, we got it the first time he mentioned it), we left without adopting a kitten. Upon returning the next day to adopt a kitten we fell in love with, we had to assure the staff we had no intention of declawing. That night, while playing with the new kitten, my wife suffered a severe allergic reaction; her eyes swelled shut, and she had difficulty breathing. While this had never happened with any previous cats, we had no choice but to return the kitten. I returned her the next day, along with the new toys we had bought for her. No refund on the adoption fee of $140. Fast forward 4 weeks - we had since adopted another kitten Aja, a gorgeous Himalayan/Siamese mix, a breed we made sure caused no allergic reactions. We decided to get Aja a playmate and found a Siamese kitten on Berea ARF's site. After checking in with the receptionist, the shelter manager, Kymber, informed us of the ban on us adopting any pet. We are done with Berea ARF.!
