1 star out of 5. On Monday August 18, 2025 I had my car's…read moresuspension components replaced. They gave me an estimate that included 2 complete Strut assemblies, lower ball joint, wheel bearing, sway bar link or kit, Outer tie rod end, front wheel bearing retainer. The tech said that my 2 front struts were "weak and bouncy". I couldn't understand why he said that. There was absolutely nothing wrong with any of the car's struts. They worked perfectly fine! I told them that I did not want them replaced. I told them that I would be purchasing OEM parts from Toyota in North Bay. An appointment was scheduled for Aug 18 at 8:00 AM. I provided them with 2 each of the parts instead, so everything would be balanced, instead of waiting for the next one to fail. Peace of mind. When I showed up for my appointment, I put the box of parts on the counter and told them I wanted both ball joints, sway bars, and wheel bearings replaced. I told the receptionist I was not going through with the recommended strut replacements. Well, they went ahead and replaced my good struts with aftermarket new ones! When I looked at the invoice (after paying it) I was shocked to see the $637.52 charged for the shocks and labour!! I immediately confronted them, with this huge misunderstanding and requested they remove those struts and replace mine they removed. The owner, Guy, argued with me that I had agreed to having them replaced. At this point I got understandably upset, and told him I certainly did not approve my shocks to be replaced, as there was nothing wrong with them. After more arguing, he stated he would remove his crap, and reinstall my original Toyota shocks with the stipulation I was never to return to his facility in the future. What sense did it make for me to get upset, if I had wanted them replaced? They need to re-examine their procedures. It took them 10 days for them to issue a credit! Not very professional at all!
