I went to Lakeshore Vein & Aesthetics Clinic last year (2015) for Metvix treatment (tx). I was happy with the tx so returned this year for further tx. The application charges (which are not covered by extended health plans) jumped by 400% from $50 to apply a tube of Metvix to half of the face, to $200. The application is done by an LPN and takes less than 20 minutes. Additionally, the clinic hikes the price of the Metvix over and above the pharmacy price; this price was further boosted this year. BC Interior has only one Dermatologist with a waitlist of 1-2+ years. Dr Bentley and other MDs of this clinic are not dermatologists. Shame on them for charging such exorbitant prices for a medically significant, preventive health care service which is not cosmetic.

I took a picture before so I could compare to the after (which time stamped). During the facial, she held the LED light on one spot on my forehead for too long and it caused a burn. When I winced she took it off and I believe cooled it down in water, my eyes were closed so it may have been something different. Immediately after the facial, I took another picture ( time stamped) and had discomfort to the area. I thought it might resolve overnight, however it was still present the next day and I took another picture. I understand that many small businesses are struggling and I reached out to the team directly with the pictures and what happened. I requested an apology and a refund. Despite this, they did not believe me and wanted me to come in person. I live in a surrounding community and was unable too. They asked to meet over Skype and I was unable to at that time and provided an alternative time. They then told me they did not see it in person the day after it happened and would not refund me. They stated I needed a lawyers letter and they would process it through their insurance and see. It is very unreasonable for me to pay $500 for a lawyers letter to get a $120 refund. I understand that complications happen and I tried to deal with Bella Spa directly for an apology and a refund and they should extremely unprofessional behaviour. Save your face, go to one of the many beautiful spas in the Okanagan!
