Service was spot on. Bought the 55 day aged Kansas City prime strip. I really doubt it was aged that long but it had a great flavor and was tender as you would expect. I also bought the chimichurri skirt for $36/lb. Way too much citrus flavor and way too expensive for the quality. Better skirt steaks can be found at most Latin markets. The Butcher shop is very good but I wouldn't venture too far off the reservation when picking your cut. Go Old School cuts. I'd go back and skip the skirt. read more

Saw an add in the local paper to come visit. Adjacent to the Prime Meat market the pop up tents have places to sit, parking on the street, and lots of meat choices. My brother had the brisket, 1/2# and I had the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs. I thought my ribs provided more meat than his brisket. According to him the brisket need to be heated longer. My ribs were ok, tender but a little dried out. Several sauces from original to spicy, bourbon to mustard. Beverages in bottles and ice water from a cooler. I would visit again. read more

Covid review. I was a regular customer before the pandemic and am back. Easily the best dry aged beef in the area. Excellent selection of other meat, wine and frozen dishes. They even have gigantic Russet potatoes that you can't get at Publix. You can phone ahead, your order will be waiting and they will even run it to the parking lot - although you won't need to spend a lot of time in the shop if you order ahead. Cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable staff. I really like this butcher shop! I prepare steak once a week for my wife and I and have bought steaks from some of the butcher shops in the area as well as Fresh Market, Sprouts and Whole Foods. I bought a dry-aged NY Strip and a Filet Mignon and prepared them Sous Vide with a finish on the grill. Heads above all else. I will be visiting them once a week for my provisions. The meat was amazing, however we got the deal of buy one get one free for the salmon. $16 salmon and got complete food poisoning from it. My boyfriend and I each ate one & instantly got sick within a day. We figured it was on such a good sale because maybe it was coming up to it's expiration date? I'm not sure. Went in looking for a whole brisket to smoke and they had a 10lb point. I opted to take that instead since it's my favorite cut anyway. I smoked it the same way I do all my other briskets and this USDA Prime cut was the best one I've done yet. I will be back for more briskets and other cuts! read more

The WPB market is limited when it comes to a traditional butcher shop that allows the home cook to gain access to high quality meat. This shop offers you access to good quality product, but you will pay for it. I personally would prefer to drive a little further and find the same quality for a better price. read more

I am not 100% sure how to rate the market. It had a reasonable selection of traditional beef. I opted for a dry aged NY Strip Steak. It took a little prodding to get the "butcher" counter worker to explain the difference in steaks. They had at least three maybe four types of strip steaks (by far the most is a cut). The prices are higher than I had expected at $32 a pound for dry aged strip. Not sure if it is a good price. The steak was good but not sure worth three times the price of public choice. I liked the layout of the market with some nice wines. They had a few cases with all the accoutrements from apps to dessert. They had a little produce, potatoes, onion, corn etc. I wish the counter person came out and explained a little of what they offered as I was the only person there. I guess it is more three stars to me than four but I like the idea and hope they do well so I am going 4. read more

Thought i made a mistake going to the popup bbq on dads day. Long line and the cashier kept making excuses about how they got a late start. It took her 4 tries to get my order right. I was thinking it wasnt meant to be. That being said...ive never been to texas or memphis..but this was the best bbq ive ever had..by far. Quite expensive but the sausage..awesome..beef rib..awesome..burnt ends..double awesome...brisket was good. Sauces were killer. Be patient...bring$$$$ and enjoy. read more
