I bought a few new in my time and I've always had the dealership go out of their way by going the extra mile, being extremely respectful while you are looking to find the vehicle and also afterwards. If I was to do it again, I definitely wouldn't buy from Okotoks Chevrolet ever again. I find most their staff are quick to write you off, especially once you purchased. For a simple oil change, you wait at least two hours. They don't listen to your concerns. Always trying to make an extra buck even though you spent huge money there. their customer service is poor. The last car we bought from Honda anytime we dropped it off. It would come out with a complete cleaning. I find that very respectful and great customer service. I don't usually leave ratings but I guess I am just that disappointed that I felt the need to. read more

had a very negative experience with GM Okotoks. I was told I would receive $48,000 for my trade-in but was only given $46,819, with the explanation that some of the value would be applied as a GST credit -- something never disclosed before signing. Within a week of getting the vehicle, the check engine light came on and shortly after it wouldn't start. It had to be towed back to the dealership, where the engine was replaced with a used one. Just two days after getting it back, the car broke down again and required another tow and repair. Even now, the car continues to show problems. I have a baby and a toddler and often drive on highways -- I do not feel safe in this vehicle. I paid for towing out of pocket, and if it weren't for the insurance I purchased, I would have been left with a broken car. I tried to work with the salesperson and management to undo the deal or replace the vehicle, but my messages went unanswered. I cannot recommend this dealership based on my experience. read more

Service department has gone further down hill. So very disappointed after buying 3 new cars there over the years. I have previously told friends what a great place it was to buy and service your car. Booked an appt, told them I was coming from Calgary and would wait for my car, was told there was A limit to the number of waiting appts each day due to covid, but they booked a waiting appt for my car. When I get there a 2 hour delay to get my car in and I'm not allowed to wait. There were 2 other customers in the service area already waiting. unfortunatly my car is still warranty and at purchase they gave free oil changes that I have yet to use. read more

dealing with Okotoks Chevrolet has been nothing short of a total disaster. I had a service brake pad monitor alarm come up on my dash while the vehicle was under warranty. After contacting this location, I was the 67 km over my warranty, I explained that the light came on under 60 but I had no choice but to drive home and then to the put me over. After a brief conversation, they agreed that the part would be under warranty as the code came on while it was under warranty. After picking up my vehicle from the dealership, I noticed several days later that the warning was back on the screen. Then booked it back in with them at which point I was told the part was defected, and they were going to order a new one. Several months later, I brought the vehicle back and the part was replaced, but not after trying to charge me. After a brief conversation, they part at no cost to myself. When picking up the vehicle this time around, I immediately after starting it, the was back on. I spoke with the service advisor who told me they will book it in again, but at a cost to me. I asked the service advisor if the problem has persisted since day, one, how was it to me as it was misdiagnosed from the start? I believe that I should be paying for any of this. I suggested that if anybody was paying anything, perhaps they should be paying my time for the inconvenience of bringing the this many times. I was told that I was a rude person at which point I asked the advisor if I had used bad or if I raised my voice insulted her, but she was unable to answer. At the end of the conversation, the service agreed that she would not charge me diagnostics, but there would be a probable to charge me a fee for parts if it was not related. I am appalled at the poor service and incompetence of the service department at this location. read more

Saying you are busy is a cop out ! Every one is busy . Good for you that you Sold the Truck on Saturday. I called and made an appointment on Saturday. Perhaps someone could have told me it was sold then . I called on Monday saying I would be early for my appointment. No one told me Truck was already Sold . I was told the Truck would be ready. ( The Truck was sold Saturday.) No one took the time to check ? No time to call ? I don't get it ? What Truck was going to be ready for the test drive ? Good experience buying a new Car. Unique situation with the COVID-19 scare going on. Elbow bumps and hand sanitizer all around. Worked with Mandar to find the car I wanted. Test drives were on schedule and accommodating to my needs. Negotiation went ok. Would have given this 5 stars if I could have gotten a better price. But that's how they stay in business. Financing and closing of the deal was great with with help of Cindy. They were then able to do all the necessary work including some last minute requests by me, within the same day. Worst car buying experience I have ever had, the manager was ignorant when you get in the finance office they gouge you for nitrogen in your tires, wheel locks and a few other rip off items that they "preinstalled" so you are forced to pay for. Unfortunately we bought a last year model and they had the only one around with the package we were looking for. The service department is even worse they want the car for a full day even for a 20min oil change. We purchased the "free service package" every time we called to book it in they tried pressuring us to buy a $150 inspection with the "free service" they went as far as threatening to void our warranty if we didn't get the inspection. *** reply to the manager I have moved since I purchased the vehicle from your dealership. You aren't aware of the service packages you sold with new vehicles?? I guess that speaks to how out of touch you are. This is a copy of the email I sent to Shaun Kos - Operations Manager at Okotoks GM Mr. Shaun Kos, I purchased a 2016 Hyundai Sante Fe with approximately 26,000 km from Okotoks GM on Thursday, June 23rd. On June 26th, I checked the oil and found it extremely over-filled, dark grey in colour and of an inconsistent texture. I emailed Rachelle with my concerns but found out later in the day that she was not in the office, but travelling for work. I then called Ryan and left a message. Ryan returned my call within 20 minutes he then instructed me to come as soon as possible to the Service department to have them addressed. I arrived at approximately 4:45 and was "greeted" by a man who proceeded to ask me if "I was in the right place?" and informed me that "this is GM". I assured him that I was and told him that I purchased my vehicle there and was told by Ryan to come to the service department. This man then said "Who?". I replied that I was looking for Ryan, the Used Vehicle Manager. He then said, "Oh, you're the 'Oil car', you don't need him. I can check your oil". I was instructed to wait for 15 minutes in order for the engine to cool down. Then the same man told me that I had to pull forward to flat ground, so I pulled forward, out of the bay onto the flat surface area. The man then said, "So you said oil was spraying everywhere?". I told him that I have never said that and voiced my concerns about the oil being extremely over-filled, dark in colour and that the texture was inconsistent. The man checked the oil then told me "he's seen worse", "it's only about 1 litre over-filled" and that the scouring from heat on the dipstick was normal. I voice my concern to him that the over-fill is serious and can cause damage to an engine. He then told me that "it had to be 4 or 5 litres over-filled in order to do any damage". I work at a dealership and have spoke with Service Managers and certified mechanics, who disagree with this statement. Is this man a mechanic or a service advisor? At this point in the conversation I no longer want to voice any concerns to this man, as he is dismissing and depreciating of anything I have to say. He suggests to drain a liter of oil. Ryan agrees to a complete oil change (as one was not completed before I purchased it, and I was assured it was completed before). I am upset regarding the oil change that never happened. I am concerned about the state of the engine and future manufacture's warranty, due to lack of maintenance. I am thoroughly disappointed with the manner I was treated by the man I wrote about above. I had to ask for his card at the end of our encounter; his name is Jim Mcsorley and he is the Drive Thru Supervisor. He was rude, dismissive and his customer service skills are far below expectations. Jim did call me today (June 28th) to tell me that me vehicle is completed and that they did drain ¾ litre out that was over-filled. He assured me an oil change was compete and that the Shop foreman was involved. His tone and professionalism during this call was a complete 180 from the manner I was treated last night. I will be taking time during my lunch hour to pick my vehicle up today. I came to Okotoks GM to support a local business in a "small" town, that I have grown up in. I realize that I did not purchase a Chevy, Buick or GMC; but I did choose this dealership to bring my business to. At this time I am unsure if I would recommend your dealership or return for future business; how you handle this situation will determine that. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The worst part is that I have emailed the Operations Manager and Service Manager with my grievance and have not been contacted at all. I have left a phone message with the Operations Manager to please call me back and still no reply. I have waited for one week for any reply. I went to Okotoks GM on July 19 / 2016 to see what kind of deals they were offering for their ( massive Hail Sale ). I started looking at a 2016 Chevy Colorado. After having to go look for a salesman, I started to ask some ?'s about the differences between the Colorado and the Canyon. The salesman didn't seem too interested in actual taking me out to look at some of the vehicles. After we got him to leave the A/C of the showroom to go out and see a couple of vehicles, we ended up at the one that I wanted to know about the most. It had some hail damage but not too much. I asked the salesman what the cost of the truck was and he just said it was on the MSRP sheet in the window. I looked and saw it was suggested just under $51,000. I had asked him about the poster that they have on their main door that states " MASSIVE HAIL SALE, SAVE FROM 20-30%" . He told me that I could get a discount but it would be just what the cost of fixing the hail damage was, or they would fix the damage for me. He then informs me, it wasn't really a hail sale that it was a different sale on selected vehicles only. I said it clearly states on the poster that it was a hail sale and that I thought that this was false advertising. As I told him my thoughts about the false sale he told me he agreed with me but there was nothing he could do. Save your gas money going there because you won't save anything else. I will be calling the Competition Bureau tomorrow. This is false and misleading info just to get people to their lot. If they are so blatant in their lying about a sale, then ask yourselves what else are they willing to lie about. read more
