I had a doctor at the ER that with all the tests done and the same info I shared, he did not give me the right antibiotic. I had a serious infection and high fever for a week and he doubled the antibiotics I had before I went to the ER... yes, and was charged 1k after insurance. Dr. Ortiz Saved another trip to the emergency room or something worse. I would take a good doctor even if it meant having to deal with some issues with the staff, it might just be uncomfortable to be in that position if you are in need of efficient staff. If you are, the manager resolved my issues when they were escalated, she was kind and made sure everything was okay.

While waiting, I witnessed extremely unprofessional behavior from the staff. A gentleman arrived for his appointment and attempted to check in, but no one was at the front desk. He stood there patiently until a nurse opened the door to call another patient. He politely told her he was trying to check in and explained that he was running late because he wasn't feeling well. Instead of assisting him, she ignored him at first--then interrupted him and said, "Well, if you are sick, maybe we shouldn't see you today. I don't want to risk getting sick." This is a medical clinic. People come here because they are sick and need care. To hear a healthcare worker say something like that, especially in front of other patients, was shocking and unacceptable. This clinic has had constant turnover--staff and doctors alike--and it shows. They are disorganized, dismissive, unprofessional, and do not seem to follow through on doctors' instructions or basic patient care expectations. Based on my experience and what I witnessed, I cannot recommend this clinic to anyone seeking reliable or professional medical care.

I have a fear of needles and have been treated coldly in the past by nurses that just want me to "hurry up, sit down, and realize it isn't going to hurt that bad." This was NOT my experience at the Women's Comprehensive Clinic for Internal Medicine! Bobby was kind and cheerful which did wonders for putting me at ease about my blood draw. She is very skilled at her craft. I was also impressed with Dr. Rosemary Castoreno. She takes a comprehensive approach to women's health concerns and does not seek to quickly write prescriptions and over-medicate patients, I loved this about her. She took time to listen to my concerns and made a little extra time available for her staff to draw my blood, given I was so nervous about it. The location is very convenient to Joint Base San Antonio as well as I-35 and 281. They have only been in this location for three weeks but are off to a great start!
