They've come out 2 different years on road side assistance. Great, nice guys. This most recent help, got a nail in my tire, requested road side assistance through my insurance. About 745 pm Saturday night. Heard back from the dispatcher that they couldn't help then but would help Sunday morning. Not an issue for me. Ol Reds Towing was called to tow our son's truck from Cedaredge, CO to PURE MOTORS, in Hotchkiss, CO. The truck never got to PURE AUTO. When we called PURE MOTORS to see how the truck was doing, they informed us that it never arrived at their location. My son called Ol Reds to ask where his truck was and it had been towed Hotchkiss Motors in Hotchkiss. We had never even heard of Hotchkiss Motors. Ol Reds response to my son was to cuss him out, telling him that he told them to go to Hotchkiss Motors. PURE AUTO was nice enough to go down to Hotchkiss Motors and bring the truck up to their shop. The person on the phone was EXTREMELY CONFRONTATIONAL AND RUDE AND NEVER DID OWN UP TO HIS COMPANIES MISTAKE. We will ensure that USAA never uses them as a tow company on the western slope. I'd rather walk than use this disreputable company. PURE AUTO was absolutely amazing, did an amazing job on the diesel truck, they were fair, perfectionists and the work was done perfectly and correctly! Now USAA will be informed that they are an auto shop that is honest and responsive. read more

This review is for Matt! Talk about a lifesaver. We are traveling through Colorado from California in our old Volkswagen van and had a bit of trouble on the 50 coming through Delta. We got lucky and found a bit of shade and called AAA for a tow. Thankfully Matt was getting fuel at a station around the corner so our hour wait in the heat turned into a 10min break. He hooked us up quickly and knew the VW shop I found online, brought us to the shop and let the tech look at the vehicle. We even got a tow with the car back to a hotel near by he suggested and dropped the car in a spot I could work on it since all the shops in the area were booked up for the week. I have to say I am glad Matt found us. If you see this good luck to you sir. Keep that attitude and energy, you turned a stressful situation into something more manageable. read more

My car was to be towed ( via AAA ) on Monday, May 20. After repeated auto-calls from AAA that they would pick ip up soon, I got a call saying they would pick up the car on Tuesday, May 21. they picked it up in my driveway at 8:45, to take it to Montrose to a garage for repair. I asked the tow truck driver when I should tell the garage that it would arrive. He told me that he would drive it to the next town ( Placerville), leave it there while he drove to Telluride for a 10:)) a.m. pickup, then take the 2nd car to Ridgway , and then come get my car to take it to the repair garage in Montrose ( one hour away). At ~ 3pm. I got a call from the owner of the shop that my car wasn't at his garage yet. I called Ol' Red's towing ,and the guy on the phone told me that they did not pick it up at 9:00 a.m., because they had a pickup in Telluride first ( this was from my garage, at my house). When I disagreed, and said that the tow truck driver had indeed been to my house before 9:00 a.m., they hung up on me. read more

This company hit my car at McDonald's and is now spreading lies. I talked to the police this morning and they said they didn't take any statements or see any video footage. My car is completely messed up and they are refusing to pay. I live an hour and a half away and work a full time job as well as going to college. The way the company is reacting is very childish. They will only comment back to these but won't talk to me one on one to figure it out. They have called me names and have been very very very disrespectful and very unprofessional. My trucks starter went out but I did not know it was a simple fix. I had called several other Tow services. One was an extremely high price, one would not travel up a mountain. Tom listened to my story and was a great help. He took me to my truck got it running and saved me almost 200 dollars which I was then able to buy a starter. Tom also made sure I was able to get back to town. I highly recommend Old Reds towing! What a nice company in a age when everyone else only cares about money; this Towing service cares about and helps people in trouble! read more

I was traveling alone from paonia to salt lake city when my alternator went out and my car died on the side of the road in hotchkiss CO. I called AAA and waited on the side of the road for over 3 hours with AAA never even contacting the local tow truck for the area (which was Tom at Ol' Reds Towing). Tom called me after my mom had contacted him looking for someone to help and he was on his way to give me a lift. Mind you, it was 9-9:30pm at this time and he was home in bed and agreed to drive 30 mins to come get me and then another 45 in the opposite direction, putting him out on the road for another 2 hours or so. (Again AAA could have contacted him 3 hours prior and they didn't). I am a 28 year old solo traveling female and was so grateful to have someone pick me up on the side of the road in the middle of the night. The last thing that AAA told me before Tom called me was that it was now too late and dispatch would probably decline my request and I would be on my own for the night. this is a huge reminder to everyone using AAA. AAA is a shit show, and often times have horrible customer service that leave people frustrated as they are stranded on the side of the road. please don't take your frustrations out on these drivers. they are hard working individuals and are often the face people see related to AAA's bullshit. But they are not AAA themselves. I believe if I would have contacted Tom immediately after I broke down he would have been there within an hour to support. Thank you Tom & Ol' Reds Towing. A few days ago, I was passing through Delta/Montrose on 50 towards Gunnison. As we all have seen, the road is closed except for certain times for construction. While waiting in traffic, with the engine off, myh coolant tank cracked and leaked all my anti-freeze out. No cell service. Thankfully the highway crew stopped and let me use their cell phone to call a tow. Ol Red's. I explained I was heading home to Powderhorn. He (TOM) told me he could not take me as far as Powderhorn, just to Gunnison. Sadly I accepted, and would plan to just a another tow all the way home. About 1.5-2.0 hours later the tow shoed up and told me he was taking me back to Montrose. The wrong direction, he called his boss and explained our agreement. Apparently it changed, just a tow to Montrose, or $1000 to Gunnison. Talk about extortion. Never use this company, dihonest, misleading, rude, unprofessional. I needed my car towed only from a bit outside Delta and I called and talked to him about where I needed towed to and he got upset even though it was only about a 5 or so mile trip. He treated me like I was stupid and assumed I didn't speak good English as soon as he saw me. On July 6, 2021, we were to have our car towed from a grocery store in Cedaredge, to our local mechanic, 7 miles away. AAA informed us, since we were not with the car, the driver (Tom?) from " Ol Reds towing", would call us when he was 10 minutes away.( we live only 2 miles from grocery store). Approximately an hour later the driver called and said " where are you"? I told him we were waiting for his call. He refused to acknowledge me. He was loud and condescending and continued in a rude voice. My husband left immediately and arrived at grocery store in 2 minutes. My husband again tried to explain why he wasn't there, and the driver became verbally abusive and drove off without taking the car. Shortly after, the driver called again. My husband once again explained that we were waiting for his call, and his response was" I don't have to wipe your ass", and then hung up on us. The driver was offensive and insulting. We will be filing a formal complaint with AAA. read more

This company took the job on my AAA roadside assistance call, I was stranded out in the middle of nowhere, I did not have good phone service and kept having to climb up the side of the mountain to get service. I gave exact directions down to the hwy and mile marker where I was at, they did not arrive, after 4 hrs I received a message, I called back and he started yelling at me that they couldn't find me . I told him where I was and he called me a liar and started complaining about how many miles I was away and said I was on my own and would have to call AAA again he was not coming . I called AAA again to verify what directions they gave and they confirmed he was given my location right down to the mile marker in very exact and easy to follow directions. He was very rude and hateful to me, they left me stranded in a very desolate area after dark. His anger and disrespect directed at me the stranded customer was extremely unprofessional and uncalled for. read more

Do not use this service! Very unprofessional. Tom caused a lot of damage to my rare 08 forester XT. cracked the windshield, dented my front left side quarter panel and popped a tire when putting my car on his tow truck. Car was left at island lake when my car overheated. he told me he doesn't do tows From island lake (for some reason) he then continued to come up anyways and caused multiple damages to my perfect spec forester. The body shop wanted to charge me 1800$ to fix everything that he damaged. I told him I wasnt going to pay for his service and he threw a fit talking about how he came all the way to island lake for no reason and said multiple swear words at me and my family. I do not and will never tell anyone to use this service. Never use this company, what a let down. Tom, if your seeing this f**k you! :) you are the most unprofessional businessman I've ever met. After experiencing the second flat of the day on our truck, we were out of spare tires, so we called AAA and they dispatched Ol' Red's Towing to rescue us! Rob T. called to confirm where we were, gave us a very accurate ETA and arrived early. His first concern was our safety, after which he proceeded to transport us and our truck to a recommended Tire Store. Rob assured that we had someone to pick us up and that we were all set before he departed. He provided great service and demonstrated real concern about our well being. If we have another flat in that neck of the woods, we'll be requesting Rob and Ol' Red's Towing again! read more

Since will not go to pick up a broken down vehicle unless the driver has another ride, I had to drive over an hour to sit with my wife and wait for a tow truck. When it was 45 minutes late I drove back to where we had cell phone reception to call and find out where the truck was. The guy who answered the phone was incredibly rude and instantly started bitching about us wasting his time, and hung up on me as soon as I started to argue back.
