Rented an apartment with the assistance of Mr. Ryan. He was very personable and helpful which made the experience memorable.

After our tenant of 15 years moved on, we turned to Peter, whose deep knowledge of the local market helped us price and position our newly renovated apartment perfectly. He created professional photos and an excellent video, then marketed them broadly, generating strong interest right away. Peter carefully screened candidates, met them in person, and kept us informed every step of the way. The result: a great tenant, a smooth process, and the confidence that we had a true professional (with great style) in our corner.

I'm finding myself difficult to write this as I know this will blemish the amazing 5 star record…read more But my experience is SOOOOO awful it should not go without telling. James Lola is a horrible individual. And when you recall stories of despicable brokers, he embodies ALLLL of that. This perspective comes from a renter interested in a home James has exclusive rights to. This apartment is located on Hoyt St and I feel terrible for the homeowners he represents. The one major issue was the ability to get into the home. Due to the fact that there were current tenants residing in the space, access was limited. This is very understandable to myself and all. I followed up with James for several days until he responded with an option that worked. Sidebar - I had to do all of the follow up. On my final attempt to confirm a time with James, he responded by asking if my partner is coming. Let's put a few things out there. 1) If you're a New Yorker, We all know how cut throat the real estate industry is. 2) It's preferable by brokers that all parties are in attendance for the viewing, but when it doesn't work due to limited access then it doesn't work. And my partner is a doctor with irregular hours. 3) It's not difficult to know right away if an apartment is a good fit or not. And if it is, a second visit is not unwarranted. Back to the story of James. James responds with "we require all adults who will occupy to view together, at least the first time. We can't rent an apartment to people who haven't seen it, and whom we haven't met." Now, I personally have seen an apartment without my partner. He has done the same. And we do understand this is a preferred option but given the difficulty of being able to get access because of the current tenants, the very limited viewing hours, attempting to see the place for a week, and the fact that my partner also has a hard schedule due to his career, I would have HOPED there would be some flexibility since I could see it on Wed and he could see it on Friday if I felt this would be a great fit. After James response, I decide to immediately call him and have a conversation. And THIS is where sh*t hits the fans!!

He was professional, he showed up ahead of time for appointments and to show my rentals to perspective clients. He also took care of everything, including a professional photographer who took photos to make my place stand out, which would not have happened if I did it myself or took someone who didn't have my best interests. I highly recommend J Alex and would use him again in the future when I need this type of service again. Thanks J Alex and company Rachel Zack.

Having interviewed several agents, I really liked their approach, friendly, professional but not pushy. They offered guidance that was surprisingly different from the others and it truly paid off! Not only did they handle everything quickly and efficiently with great communication and support, but they brought in record numbers of applicants, getting me hundreds of dollars p.m. above asking! They handled all the photos, promotion, background checks and paperwork, really paying attention to what mattered to me personally, which was a huge weight off my mind whilst managing an international move. Now I have a great tenant and will definitely be giving J and Wendy my business when I come to sell my apartment in the future!

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS MANAGEMENT COMPANY - A TOTAL NIGHTMARE…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. When I first moved in, I was excited to work with this management company, but they quickly became my worst nightmare. The owner, Tommy, is a complete joke--he doesn't care about tenant safety, building conditions, or enforcing any rules. The only thing he cares about is taking home a paycheck while ignoring the disasters happening in his buildings. I thought a management company's job was to ensure tenants have a safe and livable home, but Tommy has made it clear that's not his priority. His properties are completely neglected--Sanitation fine stickers are slapped on the front door DAILY because of how disgusting and unkept the building exterior is. Inside, it's even worse. Overcrowded apartments, with families of eight crammed into a one-bedroom, tenants smoking in the hallways, constant noise, package theft, and even physical and verbal harassment go unchecked. There's currently a petition circulating to have a tenant removed because they've harassed multiple people and flooded the floor, but Tommy? He's sitting at home, in his peaceful, quiet house, twiddling his thumbs, completely unbothered. The noise in my unit was out of this world because instead of properly fixing a collapsing ceiling, they just slapped some plywood and a 1-inch piece of drywall over it, to get a extra $150 on a renovated rent stabilized unit --which only amplified the noise, not to mention it's completely against the NYC DOB regulations for a damaged structure. To make matters worse, rather than addressing the fact that a family of eight people was jammed into a one-bedroom unit, running laps and banging beyond quiet hours with clear evidence proving it, Tommy chose to gaslight me and act like I was just "sensitive" to noise. Instead of acknowledging reality and enforcing basic living standards, he decided I was the problem for expecting a livable space. Tommy even had the audacity to claim that I gave him PTSD--a completely ignorant and laughable statement that proves his lack of education and professionalism. Tommy's complete lack of professionalism and regard for tenant wellbeing is astonishing. His buildings are an absolute disaster, and he is more interested in opening failed restaurants than taking care of the properties under his management. He will not address your concerns, ignore safety violations, and make excuses rather than take responsibility. The tenants are left to fend for themselves in conditions that are not only inhabitable, but completely inhumane. This company is a disgrace. If you value your sanity, safety, and basic quality of life, stay far, far away. Tommy does not care about his tenants, his properties, or anything other than collecting rent while doing the bare minimum. Rent here at your own risk.
