Let's start with the good. It's a great layout. Now the bad. Conditions are poor. They really want too much for this course. It doesn't get a lot of play. If you go here, book through Golfnow or you'll pay $50 more if you call the course directly. Staff doesn't seem to care whether you are happy or not. My experience today was poor. We had a 7:09 tee time which was supposed to be the second time of the day. However the 6:50 tee time was not a foursome, it was 16 golfers. College kids who played terribly slow. I just came off the course at 12:30. After playing a 2 hour 45 minute front nine, one of my partners complained and was torn into for complaining. I'm glad I didn't say anything so I'm saying something now. My advice, avoid this course. I was told they've been in bankruptcy at least twice; I'm not surprised. read more

Great layout that is very well maintained. Very challenging and probably not for the beginner. Fairways are in great shape but do tend to be somewhat narrow. Traps and water abounds and comes into play on all holes. Greens were recently aerated and still in recovery mode but were still in very decent shape. Plenty challenging for single digit handicappers as well. Lunch/golf package is not a great value as there was a backlog of orders and we had to settle for a hot dog or pre-made wrap. read more

Mediocre at best, significantly over priced and under maintained. Bunkers poorly defined and greens closer to a $40 muni course. We played in 4 hours, yet on 13 were asked to "pick it up" even though only 1 group behind us had to wait, and they were playing white tees and picking up balls in fairway/rough and moving on. Guy in pro shop completely screwed up our reservation. Guys at bag drop were awesome, but only thing I can give a plus rating. Clubhouse small and bar after was thinly stocked and not worth even staying for. read more

Great Golf Course! Nicklaus has a way of making a simple hole look and play ridiculously difficult. It's genius! If you play from the correct tee's and take what the course gives you, you can play well here. If you try to attack this course and be overly aggressive, you better have lots of balls. ~Setup: The practice area's are great! The course is everything you'd want and more. The greens are very undulating but manageable. Fairways/Landing area's are very generous. ~Condition: Outstanding! The greens are the best Bermuda I've ever putted. N ~Price: $90 in the afternoon is a reasonable price for the course. ~Pace of play: When I booked my tee time I told them I was a single and I'd like to be paired with another group. They had no problem and said there were a few openings I could jump into. Well, That didn't happen. The course was packed for a Tuesday afternoon and I playing by myself. I followed a 30 hdcp dad who was coaching his 11 yr old daughter on every shot. The group in front of them were supposed to be 2 threesome but played as a Six'm. I waited on every shot for 18 holes. I called the clubhouse to see if the ranger could make a visit but they only made excuses and he never showed up. I expect a course like this to have control of every situation. I had looked forward to playing here for weeks and poor management ruined the experience. ~Ambience: There are only a couple times you see other holes. It's cut through a beautiful Forrest of Palm trees and tall pines. It's beautiful. ~Overall: It was a good experience, unfortunately not good enough to return. read more

Good Course with GolfNow Special... We paid around 60 dollars for 2 people/18 holes/ cart w/GPS which is a great deal, the staff was helpful and polite. They load /unload your clubs before/after golfing like most Florida Golf Courses. The Golf course was in very good shape for offseason, fairways clean and bunkers(tons of them) well manicured. A very difficult course, you have to be very accurate as the rough and OB play can hide your miss-hit with the best of them. I was disappointed in one thing however and that was the warning of EXTREME weather was EXTREMLY late, me and my wife where on the 15th fairway when a huge storm rolled through and we took it upon ourselves to head back to the clubhouse only for the warning to come across our GPS as we pulled up.. Overall a great course, great driving range, helpful staff and a challenging course made for a memorable experience. I will be back to finish 16,17,and 18 as mother nature had different plans for us and it will be in offseason again as the price in season is a little absurd. read more

This course is a challenge to say the least, and one of my absolute favorites in the area. However, at $200+ in-season, the greens were like Velcro. I've played it multiple times in the off-season on the SW Florida PGA GolfPass at sub-$50 and the greens were lightning fast like they should be. What gives? read more

My favorite course in Florida. I wish I got to FL more so that I could play Old Corkscrew more. It really is a spectacular course. Always in excellent condition, VERY attentive staff and what a GREAT layout. I do have to disagree with some of the other reviews that talk about how difficult it is. Playing from the Blue tees is only 6600 yards and as long as you play smart and don't try to hit a driver off of every tee you should be fine. There are some wide landing areas if you play it smart. The greens are fast and not that difficult to read. I played 36 holes in one day and not only did the starter work me in for the second 18 but he sent us off the back nine so that we didn't have to run into slow play. read more

Course is a gem. Cut out of the pine forest with no houses in sight, virtually unheard of in Florida. Conditioning however leaves a lot to be desired. Didn't know about the aeration and the tee boxes are a mess. Nicklaus course with fantastic green complexes, unfortunately they were unputtable. Definitely worth a trip, but double check conditions. Staff couldn't have been nicer. read more

I hate this course it's not playable. 2 single digits in our group 1 shot 102 the other quit keeping score. Don't waste your money !!!' They lied to us too, they let us book a 5 some and then broke us up at 9 and said we were holding all of the twosomes they let out after us. Screw them. read more

Beautiful and challenging Jack Nicholas course. Narrow fairways and protected greens favor the straight shot. Elevated greens make chipping in the Bermuda grass surface difficult. Equally difficult for ladies and men, not well suited for the occasional golfer. Friendly staff, nice practice facility, good pace of play. read more

Just played Old Corkscrew, greens recently aireated, very bumpy and slow ! Poor condition! Most bunkers were down to dirt ! Some tees hardly had 50% grass on them ! Misc./damaged greens where grass looked like some one just removed a 4" square of turf off the green ???? Played this course a lot over the years great challenge, usually in good shape ! It'll be a while before they see my dollar again ! read more

One of my favorite golf course in all of Southwest Florida. Many different ways to play most of the holes and the course is always challenging. A must play if you are looking to test your game. read more

One of my all time favorite courses. Clubhouse nice, not overdone.

Last Sunday at about 5:20pm we were approached (14th hole) to speed up our game, since we were the last ones on the course. Even though we were not asked in a rude way, it spoiled our round. With a heat index of 100 degrees we took it easy. We would have understood if we would have held up anybody, but did not understand why we suddenly were responsible for the staff to go home early. The course is beautiful and we still give it 3 stars, but do not recommend a tee time after 2:00pm. read more

The layout was nice, the condition was not, and the staff would never work at my company. I've played better $35 munis in Chicago. This course was in terrible shape and the green fee was $182! I rented clubs for an additional $60 and the pro shop never offered to adjust the (dented on the crown) driver or swap out a dated overly short putter. After our five hour round, I took my complaint to the pro shop, "We try to pin around the bad areas". Not even a hint of an apology. You might still play it because you've heard great things about it like I did, but you've been warned. read more

Wonderful course. A thinking Golfers course. Many options to either play aggressively or more conservative depending on your confidence in your ball striking. Some rough edges due to significant play but one of the most fun and interesting Bonita/Naples courses. More then adequate room to drive the ball. read more
