I was actually going to shop for my NC business and would have hopefully ended up with a Uhaul full of antique purchases, I was excited to come all this way. I use a mobility device for my multiple sclerosis, the awful lady looks me up and down and then tells me to leave my small Coach purse with her so I don't steal things!!!! No welcome or hello. This used to be my favorite antique store in Frederick. I'm not even sure how they justify such high prices. While there is a large selection, I just don't see many people paying so much for even little trinkets. There are far more antique stores that actually have reasonable pricing. Very sad day for me realizing I will probably never come back. Also, employees are no help. They don't even ask you any questions or try to help they just watch you like a hawk like you're going to steal something. Not everyone is a thief. read more

This Antique Marketplace is large and in charge. I literally can't believe I've never been here until recently. When antiquing in Frederick, I usually tend to stick to the downtown corridor. A fatal flaw Apparently, there are large and plentiful antique stores outside of the downtown corridor. Who knew!? I only had a little bit of time to go through, so I can't wait to go back and go through with more of a fine tooth comb. I ended up getting a very nice art deco wooden box and a WW2 uniform. I was sort of thinking about last minute halloween costumes honestly ( it was right before Halloween when I went). I ended up defaulting to my Star Trek costume though lol. Much more comfortable. I will say, it took me QUITE a long time to check out. There was a group of four people ahead of me, they were all together, but they did different transactions. With the system that the cashier has, it really takes a long time to process each item it seems. Maybe something they might want to consider adjusting to just streamline the check out process. I really think I was waiting about 20+ minutes to check out. Overall, I'd like to go back. I'll just make sure to leave a much longer period of time to be able to look through the store properly... and also to check out lol. Note: Most of the stuff in here isn't really finer antiques. This is more mid range stuff, and I can't imagine if you're a collector that you won't find something. read more

The check out process is the slowest process I've ever experienced. The man behind the counter will not stop talking. He deleted an entire order bc he's wasn't paying attention. The lack of expediency is shocking especially when others are waiting to check out. read more

Stopped at this store on my home from a shopping trip to Adamstown Pa. on 10/01/24. This was my 4th time shopping this store and have never had any issues with the staff. I purchased a really unique antique secretary for 100.00, this is the third purchase from this store. Like any flea market/antique shop of this type prices are set by the individual vendors and can range from reasonable to expensive. I would recommend the store. Ben read more

DON'T GO HERE At least one dealer (maybe more) puts prices on each side of their tags and demands the higher price. They should have honored the lower price. I can't help but have to see this as DISHONEST VENDOR PRACTICES. I won't be back. Shady or questionable sellers don't rate my money. read more

Do not visit this antique store. I have a normal purse and was told it was too large. The lady was watching everyone enter like a hawk. Signs also spoke about hidden camera throughout the store. After reading reviews I see that I could have a purse the size of a match box and they would consider it too big. We've visited many antique stores and hadn't had this problem. My family and I went to Old Glory. It was a very unwelcoming experience. Before, we could even walk through the door a staff member is barking at us that we can not have our purses. My sisters and I were able to quickly oblige the request. My Mom needs to have access to her meds at a moments notice and was told she would have to leave it at the counter. Which is ridiculous to ask a person with a disability. If she has a medical emergency being separated from her medical kit could literally mean her life. Which I made a point of explaining that this is violation of her rights under ADA. These old hillbillies didn't care. Luckily, my siblings and I had pockets to keep her most urgent meds on us. Hate to see how they would treat someone with a service dog that has to keep the humans med kit on them or how they would treat a person with a guide dog. After, complying with their rule we were then persistently followed by the same woman that refused us original entry. We left very quickly because no patron deserves to be treated that way. After, reading other comments it sounds like this not a welcoming place to anyone that doesn't fit their white able bodied mold. In the very brief time we spent everything was over priced. I do not endorse establishment that doesn't consider the needs of their patrons. I was on my journey to find my China not any China they are antique Lenux pieces you can't find just anywhere. I've been starting my collection for a while, due to COVID my hobby stopped. This is a great place to browse and shop at many price levels! I usually go there at the beginning of the week and often find a friendly, knowledgeable, older gentleman who is extremely helpful. The older ladies don't act too willing to be helpful so I had to chuckle when I read the comment that Todd D. wrote... that one of them was like tasting pepper on your ice cream! So true! on friday July 12th, I stopped in to look for two pieces of furniture. was in process of doing a quick walk through and about 1/3 of the way thru I realized I was being shadowed by an employee. not sure why. I did not have a bag or purse just my keys and cell phone. even after I turned around and started walking towards her she ducked into a section and waited for me to pass and started to follow me again. it was creepy and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. After this continued as I walkef down the next isle I just walked out. I went to another dealer and bought the pieces the pieces I was looking for with my cash. Is this how you treat customers? do you ever make sales? she didn't even ask me what I was looking for and if I wanted help as a collector I will never walk in that store again and have already told others of my experience - they all laughed and wanted to know if that employee expected me to shove a table into my shorts - but they will not shop there either you have lost me as a customer and several others shame nit everyone who walks into store is a shoplifter read more

Let's do the time warp again. Old Glory is indeed a historic journey where anything can be bought for a price. It's like a tactile Smithsonian complete with vinyl records, art deco lamps, vintage board games, old functioning coke machines and they even have a David Cassady Halloween costume. Multiple dealers are showcasing their prized possessions here, which means that the prices are going to vary. They have a wide range of merchandise that will cater to various types of collectors. At last visit, there was plenty of pop culture goodies from various decades, tools, furniture, art and an assortment of household gadgets and decor. I tend to visit this store with friends who are serious collectors, but I love to come along for the ride. This store satisfies all my tactile curiosities and allows me to take a nostalgic stroll through memory lane. FYI: I LOVE the wall of shame adjacent to the cash register. Crooks beware! Visited this newly re-opened antique mall today. Everyone was wearing a mask except one person manning their individual booth. Why wasn't he? On the plus side the restrooms were open and when I walked by was being sanitized by one of the staff indicating this was a routine occurrence. I only bring that up because the Emporium, a nearby antique mall, and CLOSED ITS RESTROOMS. No place to even wash your hands there. read more

Have gone here for years and used to the staff following me around breathing down my neck while I shop but i just laughed that off figuring they were bored. This last time I went in with my boyfriend however the treatment from the staff was awful as soon as we walked in. We walked in and there was an older lady standing near the door staring at us as we walked in. It was uncomfortable so I said "hi how are you today" she replied "hi". My boyfriend and I went towards the booth near the front door that had the Blenko tangerine vase we had decided we were going to get that we had gotten the smaller one the vender had on a previous visit. There were 4-5 other customers very close by. My boyfriend picked up the vase and we were looking at the price because we couldn't recall how much it was. The older lady approached me and said "didn't you see the sign on the door you can't bring big purses in this store I'm going to need you to leave your purse at the counter". i was confused because first of all we had been in the store already for some time and she was watching us the whole time and secondly I had brought that purse in that store before. I told her I brought this purse in the store before and I come here all the time I don't understand what this is about this is a normal purse I'm not leaving my purse at the counter and why are you doing this here?" This woman insisted on arguing with me that my regular sized purse only large enough to fit my wallet, keys, medication, hand sanitizer and planner was large. I was absolutely embarrassed by this and walked out. If you don't want anyone carrying a purse in just say so. One person's idea of large is going to be different than another persons. Your staff should not be jumping on customers in front of other customers like this and telling them to put their purse at the counter which would never happen. Not any day and especially not that day when there was a teenage boy falling asleep at the counter. Had I known beforehand that there was an issue with people stealing in there and you guys were worried I would have just taken in my wallet. Or were you profiling me because I had my animal rights shirt on and I didn't look like I just pulled up in a nice car but I actually did? Your vendor lost a large sale because of your staff with inept customer service skills. And now your store reflects it too. How ridiculous to treat a person that deals antiques. read more

It's a solid antique mall. There's the fair share of cool -- but overpriced -- booths, but there are enough cool booths at reasonable prices that it's worth stopping and looking around. read more

I confirmed I wanted their item and one of the workers said they would take it home so I could pick it up over the weekend and then never contacted me about it being sold before hand. It's fun and easy but beware of things made to look older than they are. Aged galvanized metal products, steel that's been plated to look like all copper, old black metal pieces that have a splash of brass colored paint strategically placed so you think if you clean the item up, it's brass. There are some treasures too. A few items are full retail for the same thing available new in stores - they just are used at Old Glory Most of the staff are easy to work with, willing to help you find things, and enjoyable folks. There is one office lady that comes out to count money and make change when needed that, well it's like tasting pepper in your ice cream - just not what you expect. read more

I went here after being referred by another Antique Shop in Gaithersburg, MD. I was extremely happy to see how big the place and how many vendors were there. I walked around for about two hours...maybe three....so much to look at. I walked around a couple more times to make sure I did not miss something since there are so many knick knacks....I saw a few items that I wanted....but I happened to be wanting a ventriloquist doll a few days before I drove out here...and coincidentally, the first booth happened to have one! So I was extremely happy. It was only $35 so I had to get it. I am more into movie collectibles, creepy items, dolls, board games, weird books...old lunch boxes, etc....there is a mix of everything.....vintage toys, books, baseball cards....I found the prices to be reasonable....nothing too expensive, at least for what I am looking for....I definitely became a fan, and will probably stop by once a month at least. read more

This is an okay store. If you're looking for items that are 1950s and more recent, you'll have better luck than someone searching for primitives and 19th or early 20th century pieces. It's a large store, so there's plenty to look at, but a lot of it is flea-market style items. read more

I recently moved to the DC area from the other side of the country and decided to spend a day antiquing around DMV, excited for the discovery of new things that I hadn't seen before. On the recommendation of the Frederick tourism site, I decided to visit Old Glory Antique Market. On the positive side, they have a parking lot with ample space and the building is large and well organized according to vendor. I made my way around the shop and at the last vendor I saw a box of postcards locked inside of a glass case that I wanted to take a closer look at. I went up to the main counter where a (self-described) white haired woman was standing and asked if she could open the case for me. She did so and when she took down the box (a large shoebox sized box filled with hundreds of postcards), I asked if she'd like me to carry it to the counter for her, which was maybe 10 or 15 feet away. Her response was so off-putting that I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. She took great offense at my offer to carry the box, launching into a tirade about how having white hair doesn't mean someone is incapable of carrying things and how she has no issue carrying things up to 50 pounds and besides she HAS to carry it to the counter because I might run out the front door. I was absolutely dumbstruck that my innocent offer to carry something that looked heavy was taken so offensively. I did not for a second think of her age, whatever it may be, or whether or not she was capable of handling something. I simply was trying to be a helpful and dare I say courteous person in a world that seems to be losing common courtesy and simple manners. She continued with her missives as she went back behind the counter I was now stationed at to look through the box of postcards, and her obviously offended presence made me feel awkward and small. It was one of those situations where I was literally dumbstruck and couldn't think of any appropriate response that wouldn't have sounded defensive and rude (as I was quickly building up a snide comeback in my mind -- "I try to be friendly and you lash out at me, let me show you just how rude I can be, lady."). I quickly leafed through the box and found one of two things that made the experience worth it, and she huffily rang my items up while I said, "Thank you again for your help." I left, pleased with my purchase but incredibly off put by this woman's attitude and behavior. The shop was otherwise nice, but given this woman's terrible customer service skills, I doubt I'll ever make the trek up there again lest I be berated again for trying to be friendly. read more
