We were seated within 10 minutes. The trouble started from there. We waited for 10 minutes to order our drinks, then waited for 15 minutes to receive our water. Knowing beforehand that this place takes a little longer, we went ahead and put our food order in. We then waited for 1 1/2 hours with no food. Not only that, we were checked on *once* in that time period. We finally left, after no word on our food. I understand it's all part of the experience and that there is usually a wait, but the lack of communication and the service level were horrible. 4 hours after we left our house, we ate fast food burgers on our way home.

I found myself near their weekend restaurant in Santa Fe and placed an order to bring home. Crawfish & Shrimp Étouffée...one of their signature dishes and my absolute favorite. The dish is rich, savory, and you can see the butter creaminess of the dish. The "Holy-Trinity" is plentiful and still maintains its bite. Filled with crawfish along with large shrimp and rice...this meal is the epitome of Cajun cuisine. Christy took excellent care of me and while this is an hour away, I will be back!

My family and I were all beyond satisfied with what we experienced during this visit to Southern Tré. Here'a what stood out during our dining experience: * Our shared Shrimp appetizer was super tasty. * My 6oz sirloin was cooked to a medium, mouthwatering perfection and tenderness. * My father and I both enjoyed the blackBerry mixed beverage. (The name escapes me now but I recommend asking about it) * The southern decor and lighting made for an enjoyable and relaxing ambience. * Our waitress was pleasant, on top of things, and treated our toddler well. * The pricing was surprisingly fair for the quality of meal we received. * Our family mentioned several times (during and after) how great the seasonings and flavors were and how much our expectations were exceeded. In short: If you're near downtown and would like a nice sit down meal or a solid spot for a special occasion; instead of driving to Spring Hill for one of the chain steakhouses, I highly recommend you instead give Southern Tré a shot.

It has a very rustic and comfortable atmosphere. We ordered the Salmon Orleans with asparagus, marinated chicken breast with mashed and a salad, Cesar side salad and shrimp and a Tennessee Cheese steak. Salads came out, ample dressing and toppings. Meals came out and all of them were delicious. The only thing was that the asparagus was large stemmed and it was a little tough. Other than that the meals were excellent. My wife decided that she wanted the key lime pie for dessert so I got the Tennessee cheesecake with strawberries. Both desserts were delicious! We will absolutely be back.

There is a very small sign on the sidewalk but mostly you'll know you are in the right place because of the line out the door. Parking is along either side of the street on the side of the building. We were lucky enough to find a place close to the entrance, but it is possible you may need to walk about a block. I did not notice any specific handicapped parking spaces. The area can be very congested, so be aware as you walk. We arrived about 4:30 and the line was at the door but all inside. Ordering is done at the counter on the left. Once you order, you go find seats. All seating is tables. There is also a nice outside patio with umbrellas for the tables. You can also call in your order and then go directly to the pickup side of the counter so you don't need to wait in the long line. The kitchen is open so you can see everything being made fresh, as well as Mama Mila running everything. Menus are available as you are waiting in line, but you can also check out their menu online. Our waitress taking the orders was very friendly. She walked us through the process when we told her it was our first visit. We ordered the June special spicy Calabria rigatoni as well as the Gemma. We also had to try the cheese focaccia with crack sauce. We were able to find a two-top table available once we placed our order. All the drinks are self-serve. There are also "to go" containers next to drink station. The waitresses working the dining area are constantly cleaning or running food to the tables, but they remained very friendly. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive. A waitress brought it to our table and made sure we had everything we needed. The cheese focaccia is very good on its own, but dipping in the crack sauce took it to another level. It was hard to stop eating that and focus on the entrées. The June special was exceptional. The sausage had a bold flavor and held up well against the heavier cheese-filled rigatoni covered in spicy crack sauce. I was not able to finish my plate but can tell you it reheated very well. The Gemma was a surprise. It was definitely a lighter dish, but the flavors were explosive. The mushrooms stood out in the dish and made it one of the best Italian dishes I have eaten. I had a business trip to Italy several years ago and would put this dish against anything I had there. As we left about two hours after we arrived, the line was out the door and down to the corner. It's true the only reason I came here was because I started following Mama Mila on social media because she posted many of her recipes. We did need to make this a side quest on a longer trip, but I say with certainty the quest was well worth the extra time and distance. One thing to know is the desserts are generally not available on Wednesday, so now I have to plan another long trip arriving there later in the week.
